Yes, because the Plot is my shepherd and I shall not want.

It seems Eternatus is making some people justify why Plottoshi won't beat Plotnel. I can't imagine how he'll overcome the Galarian deity (although I'd love to see him remembering all his friends and all Alola cheering him), but I don't really care because that's writers' problem, not mine. As this battle has a good pacing, I'll be satisfied.

I like how everyone suddenly started talking about Goh as if this was an Ash betrayal fic.

Best to get used to a new genre of betrayal fics, but with Gohdas Gohcariot jealous because Satoshi rejected his confession. And after being beated by Lionel and feeling disappointed, he travels to Paldea, is hired by the Academy, do the usual battling/story stuff and starts his own harem with Juliana, Némona, Noa, Prof. Albora and Ságita. Fanfic ends with Serena becoming Galar queen and beating him in the next edition of PWC.

7.8/10 not enough isolation on Mount Silver and murder to be a betrayal fic

That’s true but when the Spanish is coming from an account that’s borderline pedophilic he should be worried about other stuff

Well, whose to say one of Ash's pokemon will learn a new moveset that will be the factor of bringing down eternatus. Fo example, if Ash's gengar learns Destiny's Bond or Perish Song, that could be a potential trump card needed for Ash to take out eternatus.

I look forward to Ash becoming a world champion and finally equaling or surpassing his game counterpart Red.

So far, Leon's team consist of the following;

Charizard, Rillaboom,Dragonpult , Eternatus, Mr. Rime; Still waiting on who will be member number 6.

Assuming Leon uses it. It could still be that Leon with only half of his team can beat Ash.
Leon isn’t set up the same way as Tobias was. The reason why Tobias had so many legendaries and swept Ash with just two Pokémon was because he created for the sole reason to beat Ash and wasn’t the main climatic battle that DP was building up to.

Where in Leon’s case his battle with Ash in the finals is the main climatic battle for that the current series has been building up to as the final major battle for Ash in the current series that his repeated to his goal.

So Ash’s battle with Leon will come down to both trainers having 1 Pokémon left with the final Pokémon from each side battling it.

This is very unlike Ash's character to resort to a move like this. Plus, Leon is the strongest trainer in the world. He wouldn't fall for a Destiny Bond or Perish Song trap

If we're looking strictly at the Game Counterpart Red, current Ash has arguably surpassed him based on current feats. While Red was shown to be among the Strongest Champions in the game, there was no real indication of where he ranked among the champions. Ash is officially the second strongest trainer in the world.

Strongest =/= Smartest. While he does switch up his movesets quite often to match-up well against his opponent, nothing about Leon has indicated that he's a tactical battler. We've only had showings of pure brute strength.
Leon is the strongest trainer in the franchise. He has an unbeatable streak and has never been defeated in a tournament which more or less includes all the best tacticians and strongest trainers in the world. Claiming he keeps winning and is unbeatable just because of "Raw Power" is just ridiculous.
Plus if you watch Leon's reactions to all of the battles, he's the least surprised by strategies used by the other Master Class contestants and seems to have a very clear idea as to how the battle would proceed. Even when Ash uses his unpredictable strategies (Which in general seems to leave him most surprised), he seems far less surprised in comparison to the other master class contestants.

In addition to this, he effortlessly toyed around with Diantha who was shown to be a strong tactician. Now before you argue this was just with Raw Power; go rewatch Alain vs Leon. If Rilaboom was able to simply overpower through all of Diantha's strategies and four of her Pokemon, then Alain's performance would put him 2 tiers above her (Which would make no sense).

In addition to this, he was shown to be very knowledgeable regarding Pokemon based on his comments on Lucario/Mega Lucario and the very fact that he was able to tame Eternatus (Something which one cannot accomplish with raw power alone).

Leon is essentially the perfect trainer currently in the franchise. It wouldn't make sense for him to fall for a simple Destiny Bond or Perish Song trap, or essentially something Ash fell into. Plus, Leon should be able to effortlessly counter any conventional strategy thrown at him considering his dominance as a Champion. The only reason Ash should even stand a chance against him, is because of his unconventional style.

While it wouldn’t necessarily make sense for Leon to fall for a Perish Song trap because of how much set up and work that would require the same can’t be said about Destiny Bond.

Like for instance let’s just say Cynthia was having a full 6vs6 battle against Leon and using her Spiritomb against Leon’s Charizard and Leon wasn’t aware that Cynthia’s Spiritomb knew Destiny Bond.

Well if Cynthia’s Spiritomb uses Destiny Bond on Charizard right before it gets hit by a Fire Blast that knocks it out then it doesn’t matter how experienced or strong or creative Leon his Charizard would fall to Destiny Bond in that scenario because it would be too late for Leon to do anything to try to stop or prevent Destiny Bond from knocking out his Charizard.

The simple fact is battles are dictated by Plot and Plot alone.

Fact 1:
1) Leon is the Strongest Trainer in the World:

Fact 2:
2) Leon has never been defeated.

Fact 3:
3) Leon has not lost more than 2 Pokemon in battle.

The rational assumption based on these facts would be that Leon is ideally the most complete and perfect trainer in the franchise. When you're that good, it would make no sense to be vulnerable to basic Battle Mechanisms and traps such as Destiny Bond.

Now as for the forcibly constructed scenario you describe where "Cynthia potentially knocks out Charizard"; the simple assumption would be that Leon's Charizard would likely dodge to Destiny Bond or neutralize it in some way cause Anime Logic + Leon is the best trainer in the world who should be able to counter and deal with simple battle mechanics.

Compare it to a real-world scenario. Take the real life Pokemon World Championships into consideration. Generally, the finalists usually are experts and are able to predict potential moves, potential strategies, calculate damage, account for several variables etc before making each move. It's not a one-dimensional "Oh use fire blast - Use destiny bond etc approach taking place here". I think it would be rational to assume this should potentially also extend to Leon. (The second the Ghost type is out, Leon already factors in a potential Destiny Bond trap and comes up with a safety measure to avoid it).

Considering Leon's record and his position in the franchise; my argument does hold.

I wouldn’t say so. I would say his fight againts lance way back actually showed great thinking from both.

The way he saved thunder punch as a hidden ace, and waited for lance’s second charge after getting a gauge on gyarados’s boosted speed from the first attack, was a great play that ensured a good hit.

Also how he used max airstream as a dodging move and using g-max wildfire extra damage to go through the max guard he knows lance have.

Kinda of shame we never got this kind of quick thinking back and forth between trainers again. It made the trainers seemed skilled with how they’re able to quickly adapt and take conteol of situations.

Not to mention his Libero Cinderace and Inteleon’s counter shield now
