Ash's New Voice

Why is Ash's voice different in the English version of Battle Frontier?!! Because I know that that's not Veronica Taylor's voice. What's the deal, I feel like I'm watching Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon all over again. And while we're on the subject, why did all the characters voices change???????!!!!!!!!

All the old VA's were sent to the Shadow Realm, and were replaced by the Rita Repulsa's Putty Warriors.

Oh you guys ^^. But seriously, 4Kids lost the distibution rights to Pokemon and Pokemon USA has since taken all ownership of the anime. We actually don't know the 'real' reason why they changed the Vas, We have two different stories. The 4Kids Vas say they just weren't approached, and were just replaced by TAJ.

PUSA on the other hand, says they can't use the original Vas because of a contract issue, that doesn't expire for two years. This however is true, but like Maddie has said, (the Va for Meowth) it could've easly been broken, and its her choice whether or not to break contract.

That's pretty much the jist, were suppose to pick a side and continue watching the dub. I believe and always will the 4Kids Vas, but what's done is done. And in the long run its just bussiness. So hope this helps!

Seriously though the new VA's aren't as good as the old ones - no question. But i'm starting to get used to them I guess - it's either that or quit watching all together. You just have to give them a chance before you write them off imo.

That's fairly incorrect. 4Kids didn't "lose" the rights and "PUSA" didn't take the ownership. 4Kids chose not to renew their license and in turn SOLD the rights over to PUSA

Well it depends on the way you look at it. Yes, 4Kids didn't renew their license, but they still assumed they would be used for their recording facilities.

That's why the Vas were so upset, because they were fairly certain it would continue at 4Kids.

That's why I say 'lost', because they yanked everything away from 4Kids, such as the Mastermind special which was going to use the original Vas.

Actually, there is no indication that is what the executives thought.
Odds are, they knew full and well that selling the rights meant they would no longer be used for recording. The VA's and others lower down in he company may have been 'taken by surprise', but the decision-makers were likely not.

Uh, no? When they sold the license, they sold the rights to dub the show. It wasn't taken in any manner if 4Kids didn't even bother to check if the cast would still be used. They didn't renew, they didn't provide anything.

You can write and complain if you wish, but it wouldn't change anything. The change has already happend, and the largest percentage of fans do not care.

Adding to that the fact that the old actors refuse to leave 4Kids, and there is zero chance of any change taking place.

zomg i so agreez in fact, i'm going to boycott the new dub and not watch it becuz i want teh old actors back and if enough people refuse to watch it theyll have no choice lolz! death to pusa! everybody start boycotting cn and continue to write angry letters like weve pointlessly done for teh past 6 months and actually think it will change things at this point!
