It'd be nice, but I'm not counting on it, unfortunately.
Honestly, where he places isn't really vital to the show, either in terms of him doing poorly or being the champion, but it would be nice to see him win, for once.

I'd say top 2 maybe, than drop a bit for the next league?? Man, Ash battling N in the league would be freakin epic! I do hope the Pokemon people have the gutts to do this, I'd be ok if Ash lost this way.
Ash have come a very very long way since his Kanto days at the age of 10. And he became much stronger than he was before. I don't mind having him reach the Top 2. But if Ash faces N, the leader of Team Plasma, then he must defeat him in order to stop his evil plan of separating pokemon and humans. This could be Ash's big break to win a pokemon league for the first time.
My prdiction is he would reach in final and somehow lose to his opponent. I feel so sorry for poor Ash who has became a victim of the advertising policy of this show.
I still don't get it. If Ash somehow wins a regional league, why can't he travel then? I mean why the writers use their Godly powers to make Ash lose everytime in regional league as of now? I think he can win a regional league and still continue to next region. I don't see any problem in that. Please mighty writers let the poor guy finally win a regional league.

Even though it would be awesome if he won i think he'll get in the top 8 or 4, cause they don't seem to be making him as advanced a trainer as he should be, and like, one of the main points of the anime is to win a league, so it would be sorta like the end if he did.
