Its typing and horrid Special Defense hold it back. I could see it succeeding in UU but beyond that I don't think so. It might make an interesting Assault Vest tank though.

I'm a little tardy to this party but if uu looks anything like it did last gen I highly doubt it will be uu. It might be excellent physically but I doubt its abysmal base 30 sp def can even be saved by assault vest. I'm thinking ru at best, and then it has to compete with Cryognal

How about "explosion fodder" or "deadweight"?

ur face is explosionfodder

ANDAND NU CCAT SO FAR CHECK IT

I'm not all that versed in NU so i'll just go on general competitive know-how or something.

6.png

Charizard @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Air Slash
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast

Scarf. Very fast, very powerful. I think this movespread gives him good enough coverage, but im not ENTIRELY sure. Air Slash is great for STAB and flinchin stuff, Dragon Pulse could very well be be better off as Hidden Power Grass maybe? Anyways, the sets still up for changin ofc. LO, Specs, All STAB gen 1, whateva. -w- He's also what we're basing this thingy around so yeeeeee

8.png

Wartortle @ Eviolite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP /4 Def
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Foresight
- Toxic

Defensive as fook. Coolool suggested Sp.Def and he seems to know his stuff. ^^ Scald is greaaat 100% burn chance just like your opponents always have, Rapido Spin so Charizard can at least try to exist on the battlefield, Foresight to help re-assure you of his existence, and Toxic to cripple something like Almomola or Misdreavus if no Taunt. Do they carry Taunt a lot?

653.png

Golurk @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 44 HP / 168 Atk / 252 Def / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dynamic Punch
- Ice Punch

This EV spread I created myself cause again, the standard spread seemed like there was too much speed for so little trade off....and cause Cool suggested to change it and ofc ^^ A lot more defensive with a bit of confusion hax Dynamics cause why not? I think the speed allows to outpace Tangela, but im not sure if we need that so thats always slappable onto HP if ur feelin it. Attack investment fo sho to decimate things we hit for the most part. ROCKS to do a lil damage cause thats always neato, oblig STAB EQ, and Freezing Fist for that bit of damage on grassholes. -w-

So yea that's about it! We could do with a nice grass type I guess for F/W/G or I think it was McBarett that suggested we go for a pursuit-trapper. Idk why but im thinkin Altaria for no reason, but uhhh, thats about it. Got anything to add, dudes? Something...
CONSTRUCTIVE~

Suggesting Offensive Tangela for the NU CCAT to complete the f/w/g core for Metal.

Tangela @ Eviolite
Regenerator
Modest
248 hp/ 252 sp atk/ 8 sp def
Sleep Powder
Leaf Storm
Hidden Power Ice
Giga Drain / Stun Powder/ Synthesis

So here is Offensive Tangela, I know a youtuber who has used this on more than one occassion and it has always looked like a lot of fun to me. The lack of lefties recovery is helped by regenerator while eviolite gives Tangela some great bulk, enabling it to be one of the best tanks in the tier. Sleep powder essentially equals a ko in 5th gen as long as it hits. This can help against various counters. Leaf Storm is a very hard hitting stab that works excellently with regenerator since you will be switching often. Hidden power ice gives you coverage against things like Altaria, Swellow, and opposing Tangela. The last moveslot is fairly open here, giga drain can allow Tangela to stay in on weakened foes and get some recovery going. It also enables Tangela to use a stab if it is the last mon standing on your team. Synthesis is the more defensive version of recovery for Tangela. Lastly stun spore tends to work well with sleep powder as after they fodder something to sleep you can then paralyze the incoming mon.

Felt like playing Nu cuz of this, don't think I used Tangela once in either match...

http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/gen5nu-61427265 Power swap altaria because I'm good like that

So Genesect is unbanned again, at least for a little while. I wanna try a Shift Gear set, any recommendations? I was thinking Shift Gear / Iron Head / Blaze Kick / Shadow Claw, but that leaves me walled by Heatran.

OH WAIT, NO IT DOESN'T!!! HAHA GF TRANNY.

Seriously though, any Shift Gear sets?

It was a promotion for that Extremespeed Genesect movie. It came with Blaze Kick, Shift Gear, and Extremespeed, but it's forced to be Shiny and run a Hasty nature.

Moonclawz

Aura Trainer
For the CCAT, I'll nominate a Skuntank.

Skuntank (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 Atk / 220 SDef / 36 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Poison Jab
- Taunt/Crunch

Skuntank is a great pokemon for our team because it helps eliminate the many psychic-type threats in the tier while still providing an offensive presence. The EVs maximize its attack and special bulk while allowing it to outspeed 24 Spe EV Misdreavus. Pursuit and Sucker Punch hit Jynx, Exegguttor, Musharna, and Misdreavus for a lot of damage. In addition, Sucker Punch gives our team a form of strong priority, which helps against weakened sweepers. Poison Jab is for a secondary STAB move. Taunt helps against slow support Pokemon that might try to Will-o-wisp/Thunder wave while Crunch gives Skuntank a more reliable dark-type move. Lum Berry allows Skuntank to switch into a Will-o-wisp from Misdreavus and heavily damage it with Pursuit/Crunch. Finally, Skuntank can absorb Toxic Spikes and its ability, Aftermath, gives us an emergency check to weakened physical sweepers.

Seconding Wari's nomination for Tangela too. Any grass-type that can remove the water/rock types that Charizard struggles against would be good.

5th Generation NU right? Please don't add Altaria, that thing can't sweep to save its life.

Nominating Fraxure.

611.gif

Fraxure @ Lum Berry/Eviolite
Jolly - Mold Breaker
252 Speed, 252 Attack, 4 HP
-Dragon Dance
-Sword's Dance
-Superpower
-Dragon Claw / Outrage

I think we've all used Double Dancer Haxorus in 5th Gen OU, so I hardly need to explain this set really. The only difference is that Fraxure doesn't get Earthquake, so he's got to use Superpower to hit them Steels, but fortunately Steels aren't very common in NU anyways.

All pretty reasonable nominees and each does their own thing. Tangela to help bolster our defensive backbone and provide a F/W/G core and status alongside great hit and run offensiveness, Skuntank to rid ourselves of savvy spinblockers that just might stop our Wartortle from getting its spin off and helping out Charizard, the key member, and is also providing us with priority STAB or Fraxure to finally give us a nice set up sweeper and help the team out along the way by destroying everything with its Outrageous STAB, power, and speed. Not to mention kinda bulky if we're down for Eviolite. -w-

LMAO @ my two line nomination explanation compared to the huge paragraphs for Skuntank and Tangela.

But seriously we need some offensive presence that isn't named Charizard.

Also Pokemon Showdown literally won't let me nickname my Arceus-Ghost to Arceus-Poison. It just resets it every time I try.
