As the title says. In your opinion, what pokemon have missed out on attacks which it should really have?

I have three examples.

Flare Blitz on Flareon: The obvious one, the one that the masses are screaming for. I doubt it will make much competitively, but it would be nice to have Flareon being capable of doing something with that godly attack stat...

Brave Bird on Aerodactyl: With Rock Head ability, Aero could finally be a top tier OU pokemon I reckon, firing out strong Brave Birds everywhere stupidly quickly with no recoil! and before you say "Aerodactyl ain't no bird!" Crobat gets Brave bird as well...

Hurricane on Shiftry: Seeing as Shiftry is my favourite pokemon, it really irritates me that he doesn't have Hurricane in his move pool. his whole character is based on a Tengu and being able to conjure up powerful wind storms. he can heard twister, whirlwind, leaf storm...but not Hurricane? *facepalm*


So yeah, my thoughts. What about yours?

Shadow Ball on Starmie: Well Shadow Ball has established itself as a common and good coverage move on offensive Psychic types but unfortunately for Starmie it was left out. I guess it still gets Rapid Spin though..and Alakazam and Espeon dont get Thunderbolt either

Rapid Spin on Ferrothorn: Wow speaking of Rapid Spin !

Ice Shard or Icicle Crash on Kyurem-B: Part of the reason why it ended up being so underwhelming

Spikes on Azelf: It gets Rocks but sadly no Spikes. Ohwell suicide leads is a dying strategy anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It is not that it should have. It is just that I wish it did. Rotom fit really well on my team for a water type but I also needed Surf so I was like ". . .Crap"

I just was thinking about how it was weird that bronzor can't use grudge. It's a mirror, right, so wouldn't it suit it to have a move when put a hex on whoever beat (thus broke) it?

I know bronzor technically isn't meant to be a glass mirror, but still, it would be funny if it could do that.

Thunder Punch on Darmanitan: Infernape, Blaziken, & Magmortar (lol) gets one. It's unfair. Base 140 attack + Sheer force + life orb boosted Thunderpunch will annihilate most water types :[

Mach Punch on Lucario: Seriously, It gets lots of priority attacking moves such as; Vacuum wave, Bullet punch, Quick Attack, and Extremespeed, but no Mach Punch? If he can punch as fast as "bullets" then why can't he throw a fast, non-steel type punch instead? lolllllll

Dragon Dance/Quiver Dance on Flygon: I don't understand GameFreak's personal criterion regarding who's getting Dragon dance or not. Gyarados isn't a dragon type yet it gets DD anyway. Even Scrafty, Barboach, & Lapras gets DD too (it's an egg move, but still). Also Flygon is categorized as Bug egg groups, so at least give him Quiver Dance instead. =.=

Drill Run on Escavalier: Those badass looking and long spears aren't convincing enough? Even Rapidash & Nidoking who has "non-spinnable horns" can learn Drill Run.

Recover on Wobbuffet If this obedient blue-blob manages to learn how to use Recover, even the mighty Arceus will spend the rest of it's life saying "GG" while kneeling before him. Recover + Wobbuffet might sounds irrelevant though, but why not?

I agree with this totally. And Serperior should learn Bind. I mean it can learn Wrap and Coil but not Bind?

Can Bronzor even learn Mirror Move and Mirror Shot? If it can't, then it has to be one of the greatest wtf moments in Pokemon.

Dodrio should've gotten Drill Run for honestly stupid reasons. IMO, all birds that got Drill Peck should've gotten Drill Run. I mean, seriously?

I am appalled by the fact that Audino can't get a recovery move aside from Wish when it's like the healing Pokemon.

And Cherrim. It's movepool is as good as a Caterpie's. Shouldn't it be able to, at the very least, learn Focus Blast or Leaf Storm?!

Tyranitar cant learn MEAN Look. Not saying it'll be useful, but it'll be pretty nice in trapping Ninetales and Politoed,

i think that that's a great idea. escavalier has lances on it's hands, so that may explain a lack of drill run. and i definately agree with the thunder punch for darmanitan. it is a physical attacker and a lot of fire types can learn it.

It's worth looking into the names of the moves in japanese in cases like this, as they're the ones used to decide what gets what. It's no surprise that Bronzor can't learn Mirror Move when its original name is "Parrot Mimicry". Mirror Shot however is still Mirror Shot, and indeed it can't learn it, so that one is a mystery.

Before anyone suggests Ampharos with Tail Glow, keep in mind the name translates from "Firefly light", hence why Manaphy, based off a glowing insect-like sea creature with no tail, learns it.

Phanpy not being able to learn Watr Gun since Crystal.

Nosepass not being able to learn Head Smash... Legitimately. I mean, it was in it's Egg Moveset, but none of it's possible parents could learn it anyways <_<
