hi, i know i'm new here on the forums but i've been coming and reading them for years. I'm currently learning programming and am up to the point where I'd like to try a real-time version of pokemon. Completely 2D as of now. The things i'm lacking are the time and energy to develop a full storyline or sprites. I will be posting this in the RPG forum to asking for writers, but what I'm asking from any of you is to develop about 20 different pokemon sprites(plus their evolutions, if any), in four directions with at least a walking animation, hopefully progressing to two attack animations for close range and long range attacks, but we'll keep things simple for now. In addition, while finding tiles for things like buildings, trees, and roads isn't too hard, it would be great if the same artist could design all of it for at least consistency and customizable gains. Finally since larger still images of the pokemon aren't hard to come by, i would just need sprite animations (4-direction) for various people, UPC and NPC's, and any other random animation things like possible cutscenes and such. I'm starting out very small, obviously, i won't even be implementing all the moves (that reminds me, images for attacks) right away. so even though this seems like a big project (and it is), for right now we can think small. I have already designed a map (very crude, just a guide), and have several features and such thought out. if you're interested in that end of it you can access a ppt of the map (fully clickable) here and here are .docs detailing things like a possible storyline and a list of features i've thought out. this is completely free (i won't be charging for releases of this game, copyrights and all) so there's no money to hand out for your artwork. However proper credit will of course be given within the game and any accompanying readme's. This is also a spectacular way to showcase your art in an actual game. pls only contact me if these things are all with your ability (And i know MANY of you art there are great artists, i have seen great stuff) all spritesheets will need to be converted into bmp and require clean break from the background color (i've seen too many spritesheets where the outeredges feather with the background color, and this is irritatingly difficult to work with from a programming perspective if you have a myspace pls message me your interest and any links to sites showcasing your work or else email it to me @ blitzen13 at yahoo. I really look forward to hearing from you, and i hope to make something that is really fun to play, while helping you at the same time have something you can show off to your friends and family.
