• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Okay, so I just watched episode 37 again to look at what Bisharp's scythes look like when it used them to Guillotine Hawlucha.

Yep, Goodra is definitely going down via Guillotine it looks like. Bisharp's scythes look exactly the same when it goes after the scared Goodra.

What a way to go down..enter battle unscathed just to take a Guillotine, poor Goodra :(

If Ash loses what is the point of Ash's/Greninja's build up since their losses to Alain? Defeating Lysandre, the guy they've just met? Or Alain in a hypothetical battle during the Lumiose attack, terrible either way.

There is a possibility but Ash should win this as it is about time. He needs some progress. I don't care who wins as long as the final battle is great. Nothing rules out a loss but there are more valid points for Ash winning than there are for him losing.

That's why I'm thinking Ash / Greninja wins Ash the league, that'd be boss.

Thanks InfernoApe I'll look for it.

It would feel like such a punch in the gut, especially with what Ash and Greninja went through to make it up to this point. Did Alain and Charizard have an arc? Did they have an OVA to showcase how they've grown? (These are sarcastic everyone.)

Furthermore, this is the first time Charizard is facing the perfected form of Ash-Greninja. We'll see how it goes, but looking at how Greninja doesn't appear to be too damaged by the time the giant Water Shuriken comes into play... Well, we'll see.

It would be somewhat hilarious if Greninja dominates Megazard X like he did with Sceptile.

Hell, this week's episode in general was summed up by "Bow before Lord Pikachu". Even Charizard had to take a knee, something it was never forced to do by anything but Greninja before.

LOLz People still sore about that. Awe who am I kidding I'll be pissed about this for a while too if Ash looses this one, there's just too much pointing to him winning. I didn't think he'd win D/P league even.

Pokemon Orgins isn't what I'm looking for though :/

People should always be sore about that - for as much as the battle itself was actually a lot of fun, and it WAS a welcome break from league-only rivals beating Ash in a close one, it remains one of the most blatant ***-pulls in television history. We're talking Dana Walsh being a mole, Season 9 of Dallas being a dream levels of ***-pullery here.

Adding that clip of Tobias winning the final with just his Darkrai, showing that Ash SHOULD have won the league, and then Tobias disappearing forever after that, was just adding insult to injury. I felt mocked by the writers for being invested in Ash's success and that incident really shouldn't be forgotten. I'll forgive them for it if they give Ash the win here because it means they learned from their mistakes, but...yeah.

Actually forget what I said. At least Team Flare have been built and them interrupting the league final makes a little bit of sense. It wouldn't be a worse contrivance than Tobias, though it would still absolutely suck. Just give him the win, writers, do you really think people are going to stop watching? If anything I'd be excited to see how they adapted his character after that. It would freshen up the series rather than see him being all "golly gee let's be an underdog and go on a new adventure!" for the literal seventh time.

Not setting my hopes up for ash to win because of the lead writer of this episode usually is the one who writes ash's important/major losses and yes i know the series directors and marketing are the ones who decide what happens and i fully believe if they were going to let ash win they would be hyping up his first league win and have something "leak" by now showing their human mascot as the winner

I heard he also wrote some episodes with Ash winning too though, didn't he?

And why would they leak such an important event? In my opinion that'd make less sense.

Leaking ash winning would not be something they would do. If anything the fact that the outcome is still not known is a point in ash's favor.

Why would they leak it? They want as much people interested and on the edge going in. Look at this thread alone. People are nervous for this and for ash to win. Id we really dont know going and he wins people are going to be so excited and almost feel like they are there in the stadium.

The summary for the next episode would have mentioned the winner briefly if they really intended on leaking it.

Leaking a huge victory like this isn't always a good idea.

I saw that too. Honestly, it's disappointing because that's the only way Bisharp could win that battle. It's why 1HKO moves are so agitating.

It wouldn't make any ideal sense. They've built up Ash and Greninja and they've had the two topple their greatest challenges. It just makes sense after everything they've done that Ash wins this thing.

Yup the build-up for this is crazy. Spoiling the result would be terrible.

Would they? Even if it was obvious when Ash was going to lose and not win a battle/league did they ever spoil the outcome?

Like in the wait for Ash vs Cameron did we get future episode title summaries spoiling the fact Ash lost?

Well you could say the title of that episode was Unova league conclusion, and not "victory!" and none of the other episode titles of where ash lost had his name in it.

Anyone else feeling scared for Goodra being subjected to a Guillotine? They emphasize emotion with Goodra and its such an innocent Pokemon.

Er, I kinda am. But that's only because Bisharp in the preview goes to attack Goodra with crossed vapory-blue scythes that are just like the ones used to Guillotine Hawlucha.
