Being strategic situations many times, the UG guardian episodes are often used for Lillie and Sophocles' action quota so it would make sense if they're left to outsmart Stakataka.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a little like the past couple instances where they try to make everyone at least nominally contribute however.

Well according to 2nd preview at least the slapstick is not only against Ash but against everyone xD

Yeah I was kinda worried about the recent chunk of episodes revealed because they sounded mostly just about 'Ash and ONLY Ash getting into antics' with the others barely even mentioned in the summaries, while nearly all of them have turned out to be group episodes or had some significant development of some kind.

Then again the Ultra Guardian episodes rarely disappoint for all the cast getting in on the silliness and cartoon abuse.

Except for Lillie as it seems. I’m hoping she’ll get some slapstick too.

She and Sophocles at least had their fair share in the recent shrinkage episode. Lana, Mallow and Kiawe have to make up the quota now (though Ash is iron butt monkey full time). :p
Maybe it won’t be as heavy in this episode this time. The only one I would expect is from her throwing a Beast Ball.

I wonder who catching Stakataka?
Obviously Lillie. Her throwing skills will fail so badly that Stakataka won't even know it needs to avoid the Beast Ball until too late.

The throw could be so bad that Stakataka wouldn’t notice the Beast Ball rolling towards it. Then the ball touches one of its legs, drawing it into the Beast Ball.

Third preview up, nothing much added, though Ash's attempt to leap over Stakataka is botched by a Diglett burrowing under him.

How can an expert at preventing getting captured by balls will suddenly be bad dealing with a really bad tosser. That's not how things work, unless sheer luck is on Lillie's side.

"There are some things that can beat smartness and foresight? Awkwardness and stupidity can. The best swordsman in the world doesn't need to fear the second best swordsman in the world; no, the person for him to be afraid of is some ignorant antagonist who has never had a sword in his hand before; he doesn't do the thing he ought to do, and so the expert isn't prepared for him; he does the thing he ought not to do; and often it catches the expert out and ends him on the spot."

...Did you just call Lillie stupid then.

I think she's 'stupid' in the same way Ash is. She has aspects she's really intelligent and competent in, but the ones she doesn't specialise she often looks like a complete buffoon.
Yeah but Ash’s stupidness is built of off rash decisions; Lillie is genuinely a naive sheltered girl who doesn’t know any better.

Well Ash himself is a fish out of water in Alola (along with a bit of a cosmic punching bag). Plus Lillie can be careless herself when given the chance (eg. the Poni Canyon trial). There's a definite 'so different yet so similar' feel to them both, especially since they're both likely just 10.
