I would like to thank not only God but Jesus that the cover art isn't recycled from an old promo. I was worried when Yamamoto tweeted about not having drawn the cover for volume 53 yet and I misinterpreted it to mean the SM mini volume... since it was also mentioned in the same tweet.
That said, Sun's really light-skinned in this cover, and I don't think it's because of the lighting or anything....

I thought this chapter was surprisingly short, no wonder if it only was the first half. Well, I suppose I can wait for the second half later this month then. I also wonder when W2 will get more Pokemon, she seems to be a strong trainer but she only has Foongus. Though, she did obtain the Zorua recently, but it doesn't really count since it isn't with her now. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

It's only the first cover but I was kinda expecting Guzma to appear since he had some moments in this arc, maybe the Skull Grunts at least. It's surprising that Gladion is there of all people.

Guzma and Gladion are in the sanctuary of Tapu Koko in Melemele. Looks like Guzma was waiting for him. He asks Gladion to join them as their enforcer. He tries to convince him but Gladion accepts quickly. Guzma is surprised.
But then Gladions asks "I just have one question. Earlier after the battle you said "The only one who can give me orders is that person". Is there a boss who is superior to you?"
And Guzma says "... Oh, did I really say that? I don't remember" and then suggests that they go to their hideout
I was expecting Gladion to be the one who would join them but it's Guzma the one who asked. Guzma seems to know about him (I mean, that's normal considering he does have a superior and who she is)
Dollar should also evolve at night specifically

But how could they include it in the volume? The Melemele arc is not episodic, there's not really much of a space to include a different chapter in between. I guess he'll appear later or something
