Author's Trivia Edition Micro!

I think we all know the drill here: If you have any references or inside jokes in your stories, you can explain them to us here.

I'll start with some trivia from "The Adventures of Kochou and the Beautiflies". Since I left off at episode 7 in in the last thread, I'll start with Episode 8 here.

Akaichou: I'd love to rig them above some explosions and see how THEY feel!

(We see the Rockets rigged above some explosions for a moment...just then, a knock is heard on the trailer door, snapping Akaichou from her dream sequence and waking Kochou.)

This is referring to a scene in Episode 7, when the Rockets set the explosives to go off at the wrong time, endangering Akaichou.

(Later, Meowth is in a director's chair, overlooking the makeshift soundstage. Kage and Yami, playing the role of explorers, await instructions)

Meowth: "Da Rocket's Treasure", take 1! (claps a clapboard. Kage and Yami trudge around, until Kage winces)

Kage: That was my foot you stepped on!

Yami: Sorry...

(we blip to Meowth holding the clapboard again)

Meowth: "Da Rocket's Treasure", take 7! (claps the clapboard. Kage and Yami start walking, until Yami realizes that an Ekans decided to nap on her leg. She screams and tries to shake the Ekans off.)

(we blip to show Meowth with the clapboard again)

Meowth: "Da Rocket's Treasure", take 39! (claps the clapboard)

(Kage and Yami start walking, until Kage trips and falls, taking Yami with him! Meowth sighs as his comrades struggle to get up)

Meowth: We'll never finish filming at dis rate...

This is a reference to my Ash commercial one shots...usually each take will start with a blip of whoever's handling the clapboard, followed by the take being screwed up in some way

Kochou: Beat this, if you can!
Or are you just an also-ran?
I ain't no loser that you can dismiss!

Kochou and others: Beat this!
Beat this!
Beat this!!!

Kochou: Beat this, go and try!
If you can't, then wave goodbye!
This is my moment, my turn at bat!

Kochou and others: Beat this!

Kochou: Beat that!

Kochou and others: Beat this!!!

Kochou: You think you're really somethin', don't ya?
You think you've got it won, don't ya?
Well, I've got news,
I ain't about to lose!

Beat this, do your best!
And if you can't, may I suggest
You throw your hat in, and blow a kiss!

Kochou and others: Beat this!

Kochou: And then if you can,

Kochou and others: Beat this!
Beat this!!! (the crew applauds as the Rockets flee}

A very appropriate Jem song for this scene.

(music begins)

Kage: There's an animal on the loose,
She's a creature on the prowl... (we see Yami slinking about in a feline position)

Yami: Ow!

Kage and Meowth: Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)
Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)

Meowth: She don't care!
She ain't da type to play it fair!
Welcome to da jungle!

Kage: There is danger in her eyes (we see a pair of glowing green eyes, presumably Yami's)
As she moves in on her prey, (we see Yami sneaking up on a Beautifly)
There is danger in her eyes,
The smart keep out of her way! (we see people clearing a path for Yami to pass through)

Yami: Ow!

Kage and Meowth: Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)
Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)

Meowth: Watch your back!
At any second, she'll attack! (Yami springs at the screen, at the point of impact the screen goes black for a few seconds)
Welcome to da jungle!

Kage: If you see her smile, (we see Yami's smiling face)
Better run because
In a little while,
She'll reveal her claws! (Yami displays her fingers to the audience, which now have claws on them)

Yami: Ow!

Kage and Meowth: Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)
Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)
Welcome to the jungle!

...and a slightly tweaked Misfits song...the "Ow"s I felt were appropriate for the song, so I put a few in.

Kochou: Well, first of all...it was a great pleasure working with everyone, rough spots and all. (mild laughter) We were originally going to play a different song tonight, but we decided to play the title song to Galaxy Dreamer as a thank you to Drew, Mina, and the crew. (applause) So here it is..."My Sweet Heart" (applause)

(music begins)

I find it fun to read about inside jokes and trivia in everyone's work...that's why I made this.

Personally, I think that if you'd just make another thread like this anyway, you might as well just bump the old thread instead of clogging up the forums with five hundred of them.

Of course, if you have nothing new to add to the old thread, then maybe, y'know, the thread is just dead. You aren't going to get to know more author trivia in the new thread; you're just going to make people repost what they posted in the last trivia thread, and because they obviously had nothing else to mention in the old thread (otherwise they'd have posted in it, right?), the thread will just die again with nothing new in it.

This is the last thread like this you make, okay?
