Avatar: Dawn of the Red Sun (Sign-Up PG-16)

Minteh

It's so shiny!
"The Avatar must be compassionate towards all people, and the only way to do that is to live with them. The Avatar must experience sadness, anger, joy, and happiness. By feeling all these emotions, it helps you understand how precious human life is, so you will do anything to protect it."

- Avatar Yangchen to Avatar Aang

The year is 324 AG and over one hundred years have passed following the defeat of Kuvira's army by Avatar Korra. In the years that followed, the world existed in relative peace, with humans and spirits living in harmony. Following the death of Korra, the Avatar spirit was reincarnated into Daishi of the Earth Kingdom.

The new Avatar was not as gifted at the bending arts as his predecessor was, and it took him many years to become "fully realised", during which he married and had children. The first major incident he experienced was an attempted uprising in Republic City, which escalated from a protest by a small group of earthbenders, who sought to see the small nation bought back into the Earth Kingdom.

Thanks to the efforts of Avatar Korra before him, most of Daishi's life was a simple and untroubled one. Besides the odd uprising and squabble within the four nations, his was a time of relative peace. Trouble started brewing around the time of 290 AG, when there was a sudden increase in criminal activity within the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom. Whilst Daishi was able to put a stop to the initial threats, the growing number of them, coupled with his poor health, lead to him relying more and more on the police force and independent benders. In 295 AG, three years before his eventual death, Daishi was publically ridiculed, when he was unable to subdue a known criminal in Senlin Village.

Following said incident, he retired from the world, only ever making his appearance during gatherings of the United Republic Council. Though Daishi claimed his withdrawal from the world was due to poor health, there were many who believed it was to spare himself from further ridicule.

In early 298 AG, Daishi was found dead in his home, following what was presumed to be a botched raid. Despite his many failures as Avatar, many around the world grieved for him, and a small neighbourhood with Republic City was named in honour of him, following his passing.

As with the passing of all avatars, soon after his death, members of the Order of the White Lotus began their search for the next avatar. However, during this time, a small group calling themselves the "Order of the Red Sun" began spreading rumours throughout the nations that the avatar cycle had been broken, and therefore there would be no new avatar. They named themselves after the Red Lotus and the ancient Sun Warriors, an act which was widely condemned by many, due to the formers actions in recent years. Amongst their claims, they believed that the Fire Nation should become the supreme power in the world, since the next avatar would've been born within the nation should they have existed.

As with most groups of their kind, their beliefs were widely dismissed by the world, but after sixteen years passed, and there was still no sign of an avatar, many believed they were telling the truth. With a recent surge in power, the order has begun to become a dominant force within the world. Most of their dominance lies within the Fire Nation, due to many of their members originating from there, and their ties to the royal family.

Now the year is 324 AG, and tensions are brewing within the four nations. The Order of the Red Sun continue to exercise their power, leading some to believe that they rule the Fire Nation, with the current royal family in a state of disarray following the abdication of two heirs to the throne.

As the world holds its breath to see if we are about to be drawn into another war, a small splinter group of the White Lotus, simply going by the title of "The Armed Forces of the White Lotus" has sprung up. They have never given up hope that the avatar is out there, and to this day, they continue to search for them.

And that is where you come in. You are one of several gifted benders and non-benders, drafted into the group in order to form an elite task force to help locate the possible avatar. Your goal is to trace potential leads and put a stop to the looming threat of the Order of the Red sun.

| INFORMATION |

So that concludes the plot and intro portion. If you haven't guessed already, your character will be one of several individuals drafted in to form this elite task force, and our journey begins as we travel the base of operations in the Earth Kingdom. What your character did prior to this, though I would ask that you keep it within the realm of the Avatar universe, and don't go for something outlandish. In regards to the setting of this RP, it will be much like that of the show in regards to being heavily inspired by Asian culture, but there will be certain aspects of fashion, architecture, and technology that are inspired by that of the 1950s/1960s shining through.

Bending

Bending is the ability to manipulate an element and is significant to many aspects of life in the World of Avatar. There are five known bending arts; four of them bend a specific physical element while the fifth bends the energy within the human body itself. The four elemental bending arts are based on the four classical elements, water, earth, fire, and air, and each is manipulated through certain martial art styles which are reminiscent of the qualities of the element itself. While bending is traditionally performed through the motions of one's hands and feet, certain benders are able to effectively manipulate their element with only minimal movement of their body, such as by using just their head or torso. In even rarer cases, benders are able to perform their bending without the aid of any physical movement at all, by instead using sheer focus and force of will, a skill known as psychic bending. Each element is also associated with a particular nation in the world; the Water Tribe corresponds with waterbending, the Earth Kingdom with earthbending, the Fire Nation with firebending, and the Air Nomads with airbending. However, other bending affiliated groups exist, such as the Foggy Swamp Tribe for waterbending and the Sun Warriors for firebending.

The fifth bending art, energybending, is unlike the other four in that little physical action is required to direct the bending itself. The four elemental bending arts are all dependent on the energy, or chi, within the human body, relying on its flow through the body to manipulate a specific element. A person is able to bend when they extend the influence of their chi beyond the body to interact with the environment. Energybending, on the other hand, is concerned with the manipulation of the energy itself and is able to remove or grant bending abilities.

Though each nation is affiliated to a specific bending art, not all citizens from any nation, with the exception of the Air Nomads, are born with the ability to bend an element. In the case of mixed marriages, the children may be benders of either element if they are benders at all. The only case of any one person being able to bend multiple elements is the Avatar, who has the ability to practice all five bending arts.

  • Airbending is the bending art used by the Air Nation; the flying bison were the original airbenders. It concentrates on speed and evasion, forgoing a strong offense for a greater defense. Though apparently lacking fatal finishing moves, it is the most dynamic of all the bending arts. As the element of freedom, airbenders use their capability to bend unencumbered by the ground or any other environmental factors and use their own momentum as a weapon, evading attacks with astounding agility to tire their opponents out or building up massive inertia for explosive gusts of wind to make their counterattacks finishing moves. Airbenders, when resorting to physical confrontation, are able to harness the immense and intangible power of wind. Airbending's opposite is earthbending and the confrontational style that serves as its foundation. Airbenders can use a flight technique by operating a glider and using the air to provide thrust and lift. After the art was almost wiped from existence, the only airbender left was Avatar Aang, until his son, Tenzin, and three grandchildren later inherited the ability. Airbending also resurfaced in a number of nonbenders following the Harmonic Convergence of 171 AG, further reviving the almost extinct bending art. The sub-skills of airbending are flight and spiritual projection. Flight has only been achieved by two people in the entire history of airbending, namely Guru Laghima and Zaheer. Airbending is the element of freedom and its season is autumn.

  • Waterbending is practiced by some people of the Water Tribe. It is not only the most versatile element, but also one of the more unique bending arts, as the first benders did not learn from an animal instead from the Moon, the first waterbender. Similar to their element, waterbenders are extremely adaptable and versatile. Waterbending concentrates on the flow of energy and focuses less on strength and more on turning the opponent's own energy against them. While a bender's victory in battle depends on their skill or ingenuity, waterbenders, unlike other benders, gain a serious advantage or disadvantage depending on the amount of water around them, although highly skilled waterbenders can draw water from anywhere; they can draw humidity from the air and bend the water in living things, especially plants. As the element of change, waterbenders can fluidly and quickly alternate from defense to offense, from a wall of ice to a jet of water, turning their opponent's strength against them. The opposite of waterbending is firebending, with its relatively stagnant, direct philosophy. Due to its lunar sympathy, waterbending is stronger at night and ineffective during a lunar eclipse or when the Moon Spirit dies. However, to counter waterbending's ineffectiveness during a lunar eclipse, waterbenders gain immense power during the peak of the full moon. The sub-skills for waterbending are healing and bloodbending. Waterbending is the element of change and its season is winter.

  • Earthbending originates in the Earth Kingdom, and it demands a special connection with the earth that is achievable with neutral jing, listening, though seemingly doing nothing, and waiting for the right moment to strike. The first earthbenders were badgermoles. Like waterbenders, earthbenders gain an advantage or disadvantage in battle based on the amount of earth around them, though the conditions are not as extreme. Because of their element's stability and its stress on neutral jing, earthbenders stand their ground, absorbing or intercepting attacks until they completely overwhelm their opponents. Unlike the other bending arts, earthbending's strength equally lies in both offense and defense. Earthbending is in stark contrast to airbending as airbending's emphasis is on evasion and mobility while earthbending's emphasis is on fortitude and strength. The sub-skills for earthbending are seismic sense, metalbending, and lavabending. Earthbending is the element of substance and its season is spring.

  • Firebending is used by the people of the Fire Nation and is the most aggressive bending art. Dragons were the first firebenders; they subsequently taught the Sun Warriors. Unlike other benders who depend on external sources of their elements to bend, firebenders can create fire using their internal heat source in addition to controlling already existent flames. As the element of power, firebenders have to be able to maintain a constant source of energy and balance in battle, unleashing a volley of direct, successive attacks. Firebending's relatively simple and direct style contrasts the complex and changing style of waterbending. Due to its solar affinity, firebending is stronger during the day and at its full power at noon, but completely ineffective during a solar eclipse. When a comet passes close to the planet, the power of a firebender is greatly increased. For a long time, disciplines of firebending were taught to be fueled by hatred, as opposed to the original source. Skilled firebenders are able to fly using powerful jets of flames. The sub-skills for firebending are combustionbending, generating and redirecting lightning. Firebending is the element of power and its season is summer.

  • Energybending is the art of bending the energy within one's body. It existed in the era of Raava and the four bending arts, though was considered lost. It is a highly dangerous technique; if one's own energy is impure and therefore bendable, the practitioner will be consequently destroyed. Few Avatars have learned this bending art, and even fewer have used it. Energybending allows the user to remove other people's bending abilities, or restore them after a bender had their abilities blocked by bloodbending.

A list of specialized bending techniques can be found here.

Order of the Red Sun

The Order of the Red Sun is a global militant organisation, founded by Huo Li in 299 AG, one year after the death of Avatar Daishi. The order's agenda is to see the Fire Nation declared the supreme power across the globe. They push their beliefs primarily under the claim that the avatar cycle was broken following Daishi's death. Whilst primarily made up of firebenders, the order allows people from other nations to join them, permitting they share their beliefs.

Notable NPC's within the order

  • Huo Li – A former chancellor to the Fire Lord, and the founder and current leader of the organisation. Rules the order from his base on Kirachu Island.
  • General Zhao – A high-ranking official within the order. Feared for his ruthless attitude and bending style. He oversees most – if not all – of the orders operations in the Earth Kingdom.
  • Jharna – A waterbending member of the order. She is currently tasked with overseeing operations in the Northern Water Tribe. She is one of the members of Nami-Kai Triad of bloodbenders working within the order, and is considered by many to be their leader.

The Armed Forces of the White Lotus

The Armed Forces of the White Lotus, also known by the acronym AFWL, or simply the resistance, is a splinter group of the original White Lotus. They were formed sometime in Korra's era, with the purpose of exacting Avatar Aangs request to help find, train, and protect each new avatar. However, in recent years, they have become more of a military force, and have become the primary opposition to the Order of the Red Sun's ideals.

Notable NPC's within the Armed Forces

  • General Bu – A high-ranking member within the army, and the leader of the elite task force. He is originally from the Earth Kingdom, and boasts descent from royal lineage. He is sometimes mockingly referred to as King Bu. He is a gifted tactician.
  • Princess Kasumi – The former heir apparent to the Fire Nation, and a captain within the army serving under General Bu. She renounced her claim to the throne two years in order to marry the woman she loved and to join the army.
  • Akemi – Kasumi's wife and another captain within the army serving under Bu. She is currently working undercover as a guard in one of the Order or the Red Sun's prisons.
  • Su – An airship captain within the army.

Other notable NPC's

  • Fire Lord Jun – The current ruler of the Fire Nation and the father of Kasumi and at least four others. Whilst initially opposed to the Order of the Red Sun, following the abdication of two of his children, he has begun to uphold some of their traditions.
  • Jiao – The chief of the Northern Water Tribe.
  • Nukka – The eccentric chief of the Southern Water Tribe. Also known as "Nanna" on account of motherly qualities.
  • Kanan – The mayor of Ba Sing Se, and a popular member of Earth Kingdom nobility. He is a young man and was recently elected.
  • Kwan Bae – One of the heads of state for the Air Nomads.
  • Guru Tashi – An airbending guru residing in Republic City

  4. Swearing is allowed as this is rated 'PG-16', but please don't abuse it. I know some characters will swear a lot, just don't use it as an excuse to have them swear in every sentence.
  5. Romance/sexual stuff is fine with me, but don't go overboard. We're not here for that. We're here to find the Avatar!
  6. Also, and I can't stress this enough, please make it appear realistic during fight scenes. I know there is magic involved, so it isn't going to be exactly identical to real life, but don't make it so you character gets punched and is barely affected by it.

Name: Fareeha Tanaka

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Class: Airbender

Appearance:
X2kuTv5.png

Fareeha is a fairly average woman in terms of height and weight. She stands at around 5'6'', and weighs a little under 117 lbs. Years spent training as a dancer, however, has given her a well-built physique. She has particularly good muscle definition on her legs (especially around her calves) and upper arms. Due to her Water Tribe descent, Fareeha has tan skin, rather than the paler complexion Air Nomads have. It is relatively smooth and unblemished, besides the odd healed scar. Fareeha considers herself to be quite plain looking in regards to her facial features. She has a heart shaped face, with thin slightly upturned lips, a button nose, and narrow, olive green eyes. Out of all her features, she views her eyes to be her best, and often wears eyeliner to make them stand out more. Fareeha's hair is black, like that of her mother, and she usually keeps it in a bun, with two strands of hair slightly pulled down at the sides of her face. When loose, her hair falls to just past her shoulders, and his straight and glossy.

In regards to clothing, Fareeha dresses quite plainly, like many Air Nomads. Whilst she doesn't abide by many rules of their society, she a deep respect for their culture and lifestyle choices, and this is reflected as such in her clothes. Most of her wardrobe consists of outfits in brown, orange, and saffron yellow, which are colours generally associated with Air Nomad culture. Her preffered outfit consists of a loose yellow shirt, with a loser orange shawl over the top of it. Said shawl is said to be inspired by those worn by young Air Nomads. On her lower half, she wears loose fitting bottoms in a shade of darker orange, striped in yellow towards the lower half of the legs. On her feet she tends to wear black pumps.

Fareeha is also in possession of an Airbender wingsuit which she bought with her upon joining the task force.

Personality: A kind, compassionate woman, Fareeha tries to find the good in every person she meets, even if they aren't deserving of such treatment. Her nearly blind trust in others has caused her trouble in the past, often leading to heartbreak, or in the most extreme case incarceration. Still, despite said things, she remains an optimistic force, always willing to look on the bright side of things. However, despite her optimistic and compassionate persona, she can sometimes come across to others as a bit foolish and spacey, but has been known to have moments of clarity and intelligence.

In her youth, she was known to be somewhat unmotivated and a little lazy, which is something which continues to plague her to this day. She dislikes being pushed into situations she is not comfortable in, and continued attempts at trying to force her into something she does not wish to do, will see her mood sour. Such a reaction occurred during her youth, and eventually lead to her rebelling against her father and his attempts to push the Air Nomad culture on her. Fareeha is a firm believer in "learning from your mistakes", and it was this that lead her to being more open to learning about Air Nomad Culture. Whilst she continued to struggle with finding her motivation, she was eventually able to latch on to certain aspects that caught her interest, and was able to find the more light-hearted side of her mentor Guru Tashi. As time has passed, she has come to love her culture more and more, and whilst she could never become a full nomad, due to a general unwillingness to commit to such a lifestyle at this time, there are certain beliefs she upholds. She also frequently meditates to focus her energies, and is keen to encourage others to do so as well, even if they are from a different nation to her.

History: Fareeha was born in mid 302 AG to her parents in Republic City. Her father was the non-bender son of two renowned airbenders in the city, and is a famous public speaker himself. Her mother was born in the Northern Water Tribe, but at some point in her life she emigrated to Republic City, where she met Fareeha's father and quickly fell in love with him. Fareeha does not remember much about her mother, as she sadly passed away when she was only six, leaving both her and her father heartbroken. However, she does have a small number of photographs of her mother, meaning her mother was never forgotten completely.

From a young age, Fareeha's airbending abilities were very prominent, leading her father to plan for her future early in her life. Whilst a young Fareeha spent her days playing throughout her family's manse, her father was plotting out her entire life for her. At the age of ten he planned to have her properly hone her bending under the teachings of a guru, and then once she was old enough, he planned to encourage her to make a permanent move to one of the Air Temples and declare herself to be a true Air Nomad. Of course, Fareeha was aware of none of this, and soon after her tenth birthday, she willingly began to train under the guidance of Guru Tashi. For two years, Fareeha went about her training completely unaware of her father's plans, until one day, after struggling to master a new technique, Tashi teased that she wouldn't make a good nomad. Curious what he meant, she pressed her teacher to tell her more, leading him to believe that she was already partly aware. When she learnt about the full extent of her father's plans, she was shocked, and was unable to believe. It was only after returning home and finding documents belonging to her father that she realised and understood what he had done. A few days later, she confronted her father about his plans, and their small talk rapidly turned into a heated argument.

Following the confrontation, Fareeha's relationship with her father drastically changed. She was extremely bitter towards him, and fought with him much more, often citing a breach in trust between them for her bad behaviour. Her behaviour also changed towards Guru Tashi, and she frequently skipped out on her lessons or misbehaved in them as an act of rebellion towards her father. Eventually she stopped going altogether, strongly believing she would be able to learn more on her own.

When she was fourteen, Fareeha met a group of orphans who lived on the streets in Republic City, and became close with their leader, Genji. The group were impressed with her airbending skills, and welcomed her with open arms. For the first time in a long time, Fareeha felt she could actually be herself. When made aware of her growing friendship with the group, her father was quick to speak against it, describing them as little more than petty thieves, and unless she wanted to spend her life in jail, she'd do well to stay away. Fareeha was to fire back that she wouldn't trust a word of what her father said.

Her father's warning became more frequent the more time she spent with the group, and all of them continued to fall upon deaf ears. The more he asked he to stay away, the more time she spent with them. However, as time went by, she did begin to have her suspicions about them, especially when she found a number of stolen items. Genji promised her it wasn't as bad as it seemed, and that they only stole off of those who deserved it. Fareeha, unable to believe that Genji would lie to her, hesitantly agreed that he was doing the right thing.

Sometime between her sixteenth and seventeenth birthdays, she and Genji entered into a romantic relationship. Genji wanted her to help with their stealing, and though hesitant to do so at first, Fareeha soon relented and underwent training to ready herself. Soon after her seventeenth birthday, Fareeha was taken on her first crime, serving as the getaway driver. Although she did not ask questions at first, she was shocked to discover that their victim had been an old friend of her family, and someone who Fareeha was certain did not deserve this. Once the group returned, their stolen items in tow, Fareeha was tasked with getting them out of there. It did not take long for the Republic City police to be on their tails. As they were escaping, Fareeha attempted to ask Genji why they had stolen from her friend, and much to her disdain continued to be brushed off. As her irritation grew towards Genji, and the pressure of the situation began to effect her, Fareeha ended up crashing the car. As Genji and some of the other orphans began to escape, he turned to Fareeha and begged her to stay and take the fall for them, promising her that if she did, he would get her out again and explain why they had robbed her friend. Fareeha agreed, and as Genji and the others escaped, she willingly gave herself over to the police.

For three days she waited in jail, until eventually, her father bailed her out. After arriving home, Fareeha expressed her hurt about Genji not coming back for her, and apologised to her father for allowing things to get this far. What followed was a very frank and open conversation between them, involving both of them owning up to their mistakes, and apologising to one another. Eventually the two of them made up, though it was clear things would never be as they once were.

In the years that followed, Fareeha continued to train under the guidance of Guru Tashi, and came to be a firm believer in meditation. She wanted to turn her life around and forget about that period of her life with Genjo, and she was determined to be an airbending master. As her skills continued to progress, Tashi asked her if she had given more thought over whether she wanted to be a full nomad or not. Fareeha admitted that she wasn't ready at that moment in her life, but that she would consider it for the future. At the age of twenty, Fareeha joined a local dance troupe in Republic City, where she rose through the ranks to become the head dancer. It was only recently that she decided to join the resistance. With the order's influence over Republic City growing larger by the day, Fareeha knew something had to be done, and she signed herself up. Unknown to her, her former mentor, Guru Tashi, had mentioned her airbending prowess to a high-ranking official in the order, and she was suggested as a potential member of the elite task force.

Night Triumphant
Name: Zayah Taraka

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Class: Firebender

Appearance:
4eBwFWQ.png

Zayah's striking appearance contributes to her notoriety as one of Republic City's most beautiful courtesans. She stands at 6 feet tall, with a muscular but lean body type (a result of participating in back alley fighting tournaments) and very fair skin. The first thing one might notice about her is her hair - a rare deep red in color, and falling in waves to a length just below her waist. She usually leaves it down, and has long bangs covering her left eye. She does put it up sometimes, however, but always in some sort of braided hairdo or a ponytail, never a neat bun (or any sort of "refined" hairdo for that matter). Her eyes, typical of a Firebender, are a golden yellow-orange, which might remind one of the evening sun. Her facial features are strong and distinctive as well - curved brows, a rather angular face and an aquiline nose. She has very large breasts that she isn't at all shy about, as well as long, strong legs and a muscular torso with quite a number of healed scars on both the front and the back, some of them covered by deep red and black flame tattoos - tattoos that she got herself as an act of rebellion. Her arms are also tattooed - the left arm bears flames similar to the ones on her torso, while the right arm has a single large black scorpion, and her on her left leg is a large, black tattoo of a dragon that stretches from her upper thigh to just below her knee. Her hands are heavily scarred as well, especially at the knuckles, which have split and healed numerous times. Her ears have multiple piercings, and she also has a navel piercing and a single labret piercing.

Zayah no longer wears the elaborate and bright-colored robes and silks of her previous occupation as a courtesan, and frankly, she's pretty glad that she doesn't have to. She despises how difficult they are to move in, and she was never the type for bright colors to begin with, preferring to wear black all the time and keeping color to a minimum. However, she still shows a preference towards revealing clothing. On her upper half, she wears a tight, short black sleeveless top that exposes her navel and torso. It's a wrap-style top with a pair of thin, black straps that fasten it closed by tying said straps into a knot at the back. They are long, and rather than tie them into a big cumbersome bow, Zayah criss-crosses them across her bare torso before knotting them at the small of her back. Under this top, she wears a black fishnet cropped undershirt with a high neck. For bottoms, she wears loose black pants that gather and end at her knees. These pants have tattered hems, and are held up by a gold fabric belt that's knotted at a level just below the navel. On her feet, she wears comfortable knee-high black leather boots with deep red adornments. On her hands are black fingerless gloves with golden knuckle spikes, and her arms are protected by deep red bandages that wrap from wrist to mid-bicep. She carries around a pair of kama strapped on her back.

Personality: Zayah is a feisty young woman and a survivor - streetwise, tough and unafraid of almost everything. Having lived her childhood on the streets, and until recently, a brothel of ill repute, she very much knows how to take care of herself, is practical and resourceful, and definitely knows her way around. People who first see her face think of her as someone who inspires and needs protection, but they couldn't be more wrong - they only see her beauty, and not the iron underneath...and the iron that is clearly visible on the surface when one manages to see more than just her mere face - the scars, her muscled body, and her gestures, among many other things. While she was once a courtesan, and one of the most notorious ones at that, Zayah's true personality is far from elegant or coquettish, and she isn't even one to speak in flowery language for that matter. In reality, she is crude and casual, and while she is sensual and seductive, she doesn't have a graceful or poised bone in her body. She is tomboyish, rough-mannered, and definitely not subtle, with a tendency to swear a lot, speak in very rough language (as well as innuendo), and make inappropriate jokes, usually at the expense of others (usually men whom she bested at arm-wrestling, drinking games or gambling). She is a very physical person in many different ways - she enjoys fighting and is very proud of her strength, for one, to the point that she prefers to participate in back alley tournaments to support herself, rather than take on a mundane job or enter another brothel. It doesn't help that she loves the atmosphere of battle...to the point that she picks fights just for the stimulation and adrenaline. She also has no sense of personal space and doesn't follow conventional etiquette, with a tendency to do things such as resting her elbow on someone's shoulder, giving (very painful) noogies, or placing both her hands and chin on top of a sitting person's head. Zayah is one who tends to utilize physical means in order to quickly solve problems - be it picking a fight or getting into bed with someone, rather than using diplomacy and words. And, when she does pick a fight, watch out, because when she threatens to break your limbs, chances are, she'd do that and worse.

Zayah has a burning passion for life, doesn't exercise caution in her actions and loves being uninhibited, with a tendency to get in trouble and at times, even tends to look for trouble. Of course, this leads her into difficult situations more often than not. Like fire, she is difficult to contain and control, and she isn't one to be fine with being under someone's thumb. Fire is not content to stay put or be smothered (unlike Earth) after all. She also doesn't care for anyone or any system that tries to "tame" her - she lives life freely and passionately, and she won't restrain herself to please anyone. Strong-willed to the point of pigheadedness, she doesn't give up or give in whenever she puts her mind into accomplishing or pursuing something, even when it's better to do so. She's also very much the rebellious sort, she has issues with authority and following rules, especially if she finds them stupid, pointless or both - she doesn't think fools and "armchair leaders" deserve her respect, or deserve to boss her around - action is important to her. Zayah is confident and self-assured, some may even say that she's shameless. Never one to shy away from a dare or a challenge, she is reckless and brave; not one who looks before she leaps but instead just goes for things head-on...very much impulsive to a fault; a real "Leeroy Jenkins" who has no patience sitting around, discussing plans and formulating elaborate strategies. She isn't that difficult to get to know either, despite what others may think - she isn't at all shy or reserved and tends to be an instigator. Sure, it may take some time to get used to her roughness and sense of humor, and many may be turned off by her, either at first impression or after knowing of her reputation, but she is genuine, even though she isn't the sweetest nor the most openly tender person. In fact, she is harsh, sarcastic and tactless, never hesitating to voice out her opinions and is just very forceful and intense in general. She doesn't have patience for weakness and crying, and if she sees someone displaying such, she'd make the person toughen up in one way or another. Also, in addition to her harsh tongue, she's extremely short-tempered, it takes very little to get her angry, and when she does, she is even more threatening than she already is, as she turns to violence with little provocation. This of course, makes her bending prone to getting out of control (she did set fire to her brothel after all), and she does have a tendency to burn others. However, it doesn't mean that Zayah is always bad company. She's actually a rather cool person to be around, as long as you have thick enough skin, witty comebacks and a healthy sense of humor, that is. She does appreciate people just as feisty as herself, after all.

Zayah is very sensual and seductive, and openly hits on others without shame. While this may turn off some people, she exudes a certain magnetism that draws some people in and make them want more. She's bisexual and doesn't have a specific taste in guys or girls, having had several one-night stands with both sexes. She isn't afraid to use such methods to accomplish tasks or obtain information either - she's generally the one to offer herself up to carry out said tasks. She knows they could be risky, but they do not at all scare her. One must not, however, force her to do it and claim that it's "her job" if she doesn't bring it up or suggest it - she isn't anyone's bitch or some sex slave that's only useful for her body - she would most definitely object while beating up the offender hard to make sure they remember it and regret it.

Generally, Zayah is not at all reserved and while she isn't conventionally sweet and can be standoffish towards judgmental people and those whom she thinks are liars, she's not bad company and isn't one who'd remove herself from a group unless she really wants to be alone. She's surprisingly warm (though very casual) to those she meets (even nobility) and is very difficult to embarrass, can definitely take as good as she gives, and is always up for just about any kind of dare, even if they sound insane. And though she might hate to admit it, it actually doesn't take much to amuse her and make her laugh...crass jokes, fun made at others' expense and morbid humor; those never fail. She's also a great cook, and wouldn't hesitate to offer to do the cooking for others. There is another side to her, however. When it comes to dealing with her own problems, this is when she often pushes others away. Fiercely independent and used to living on the streets, she prides in her ability to take care of herself, and doesn't like it when others offer to help her out, seeing accepting such help as a sign of weakness (though she isn't opposed to helping others...or "cleaning up their messes" as she prefers to call it), and sees her life as her own. She absolutely doesn't like it when she's placed in a vulnerable position, but rather than give in or surrender, this unyielding and headstrong young woman is one who'd always suck it up and fight her way out as much as possible - even if it's a bad idea or if it endangers her. She also has a few issues with trusting others fully (making friends, easy...but really, truly trusting...more difficult) - especially towards those she thinks are liars or are smooth-talking sorts. Naturally skeptical and cynical, she's often doubtful of others' intentions, and would usually be the first to point out if something's "off", and wouldn't listen to anyone who disagrees with her unless they show her proof. To break Zayah's trust means one can never, ever get it back. She holds grudges for so long, and she holds plenty of them; making an enemy of her by gaining her trust and then breaking it is definitely a death wish.

Zayah is very much an objective thinker, ruled by what makes sense in her head rather than be swayed by her heart and emotions. She doesn't let her feelings influence her decisions even if said decisions can seem cruel, which can be good in some situations, but makes her terrible when it comes to dealing with more heart-ruled people - she has a difficult time accepting points of view that she thinks are too emotionally-charged. She doesn't have much in the way of morals either, being loose and chaotic in that respect, and will definitely harm someone and more if she thinks they deserve it (though if someone fell a victim of rules that don't make sense, she'd do whatever she can to help that person out the best she could). She does have strong emotions though, as seen in how easily her temper is ignited and how easily she can laugh as well, though she doesn't show more vulnerable emotions - she would never cry in front of anyone (she thinks crying is for the weak). She does have them though, and feels them very strongly, even though she doesn't express all of them.

With an intense personality also comes an equally intense capacity for loyalty and compassion. While Zayah is merciless and fierce in dealing with her enemies or those who wrong her, she is equally fierce in defending her friends. She wouldn't leave any of them behind, and knows how to look out for others, much like a cool big sister, thanks to her early experiences. While she's much more tough-minded than tenderhearted and might have the worst bedside manner in the world when it comes to helping out her friends, this is actually put to good use in many situations and reveal that she does care deeply, in her own rough yet practical manner - she does believe that immediate action matters more than soothing words, after all.

Zayah loves her alcohol, but prefers particularly strong varieties in particular, and she is always ready to try even alcohol with the oddest ingredients put in. As she started drinking from a pretty young age, she has excellent tolerance, so it's difficult to get her drunk.

History: Born in the slums of the Fire Nation in late 298 AG and an orphan by the age of five, Zayah never really knew or even saw her own father (except that his name was Urtzi, and that he apparently had red hair), while her mother, Kali, who took on odd jobs to support them both, was killed in an accident. Thus, from a young age, the redhead learned that life was difficult and unfair. She lived on the streets and was taken in by a local street gang run by older teenagers, where in she learned how to look out for herself as well as other people. She became a petty criminal - shoplifting, pickpocketing, stealing food from open markets and at times, is even tasked to smuggle and deliver illegal items and substances to customers, her superiors assuring her that absolutely no law enforcement officials would suspect a scrawny, ugly little girl with odd red hair to be a smuggler. Such a life hardened and strengthened Zayah, and while it might have killed some kids, as she had seen with her own two eyes, she thrived and grew to become a tough survivor. She never cried, she never backed down from any difficult job, and she never got caught. She learned to defend herself as well as fight barehanded - they weren't the only gang in the Fire Nation slums after all, and she wasn't going to let herself be a weak, defenseless little girl. At eleven, she became the gang's muscle, her peers having discovered that she was strong...very strong, even when put up against bigger, heavier rival gangsters. She even found herself looking out for her fellow gang members, younger than her, her own age and even those a bit older than her but who had a more difficult time adapting.

Nobody would've guessed that Zayah was going to grow up to become a beauty, especially not herself, nor her fellow gang members. Often covered in dirt, and skinny as well as gangly, she only attracted attention because of her red hair, and it wasn't even good attention. By the time the young girl was twelve, however, somebody did think so, and approached her on the street. The man was Yagiza, a citizen of Republic City and a brothel owner. He was looking for new courtesans, and a particular redhead from the slums caught his eye. Skinny, yes, but that was easily fixed. Gangly and as tall as he was, yes, but he knew that she was yet to fully mature, and some of his clientele had a taste for tall courtesans anyway. A fierce gaze, yes, but even the hottest of fires can be tamed, he thought. The girl's hair was definitely rare, and Yagiza thought that while she was impoverished, dirty and undernourished, she had the potential to grow into a rare beauty. Yagiza approached Zayah, and told her that she could have a better life in Republic City if she would come with him. Zayah wasn't convinced. Why would such a well-dressed man approach her and want her to come with him just off the bat? Her friends, however, urged her to go, assuring her that if they were given the chance, they would take it up. There was no future for her on the streets, and she should count herself lucky, they told her. This convinced Zayah, and she accepted. The next day, Yagiza took Zayah with him to Republic City. The man had provided her a comfortable inn room the night before, and paid for her meals. Surely, he really meant it when he was going to give her a better life?

It was only in Republic City that she found out what exactly Yagiza wanted from her. The place he told her was her new home turned out to be a brothel, and she was to become its newest courtesan. She was the youngest in the house, and was rough around the edges to boot, making her a common target among many of the more experienced courtesans. Many whispered about her red hair, talked about how the old brothel burned down the last time someone pissed off a redheaded courtesan, and snarked about how Yagiza should've known better. Suffice to say, Zayah was not popular in the brothel. Yagiza had lied - a brothel was just a glorified cage, and it wasn't a better life at all. Though, sure, she was eating better and was now healthier, she had a bed to sleep in and didn't have to resort to petty crime in order to get by, but she had all but sold her freedom for virtually no price. Zayah beat herself up over it, wondering why she had ultimately chosen to trust the man. She wanted out, knowing that it was better to be on the streets and free, rather than be held in a place where even her own body wasn't technically her own. Repeated escape attempts followed over the next two years, but Yagiza always found her and brought her back. After the failure of the fifth or sixth attempt, the man was sure that Zayah was going to give it up, and it did seem so on the surface...but he couldn't have been more wrong. As she grew, Zayah transformed from a scrawny street rat into a devastatingly attractive young woman - at twelve, she wasn't much to look at, but at sixteen, she was stunning. She never lost her tough, rebellious streak, however, and never made it easy for anyone forced onto her, much to Yagiza's chagrin. She was even known to be particularly unforthcoming and outright rude to their high-ranking clientele. Soon, Zayah, dubbed the "Evening Star", gained a reputation among many circles in Republic City for being one of the most beautiful courtesans of the time, but also one of the most feisty, unyielding and stubborn, with an extremely venomous, foul mouth to boot, earning her a second nickname, the "Scorpion".

Unbeknownst to Yagiza, Zayah accidentally learned that she had the capability to Firebend when she was seventeen, at a fairly late yet not unheard of age. She had been assigned kitchen work for her repeated bad behavior, and she was growing impatient with how long the cooking was going. She thrust her arms in the air as she cursed aloud, wondering when the meal would be done. This motion caused the flames to rise high, engulfing the cooking pot and burning the food entirely. This stunned her for a moment, before she regained her bearings and actually grinned as she watched the dancing flames. This did not go unseen, however. Yoake, the only male courtesan in the brothel and Zayah's only real friend, happened to pass by at the very moment the flames rose, and seeing as Zayah did not make the effort to put them out, rushed in and doused the flames. He then asked his best friend whether it was a cooking accident, or whether she did it. She confirmed the latter, and Yoake kept it a secret. Soon, the sense of power she felt when she discovered her bending allowed her rebellious spirit to burn even brighter. Yagiza was now unaware of what exactly he was dealing with. Previously, she was content being the difficult, stubborn and feisty courtesan, but this time, she wanted more, she wanted out, she wanted to be free and did all that she could to get herself thrown out. Rather than stay inside the brothel during non-working hours, she stole some spare keys and went out as often as she wanted, and broke more and more rules. Against Yagiza's regulations, she got a large scorpion tattooed on her right arm - this earned her a severe beating that left scars on her torso and back...scars which she chose to accentuate with even more tattoos, this time of flames, black and red, as if to hint at her own capabilities and to rub Yagiza's past failure in his face. The more scars he and his more senior courtesans inflicted, the more flames she tattooed along their outlines, making them stand out and taunting the man even further. She started frequenting seedy establishments and making herself available as a criminal-for-hire in order to earn money that she would't have to turn over to Yagiza, and used said money to bribe a starving, alcoholic, middle-aged Firebender named Mesha to train her (illegally, of course) in the back alleys to hone her powers. Mesha, not being a legal master anyway, was a brutal trainer who never held back, be it in terms of physical training or Firebending training. The girl had come to him to be strong, not to be coddled, so that was what he did, and she in turn improved by leaps and bounds over the next three years - her already strong strikes became even stronger and the fires she created went beyond simply engulfing a cooking pot. Soon, Mesha told her, she would be ready to learn to wield weapons, and Zayah was pleased, though she told him that she had to "deal with someone first" before doing so. It came to the point when Zayah even began disappearing for whole days from the brothel just to train or do her own thing, much to Yagiza's chagrin. He had given her a good life, and he thought she was being terribly ungrateful. He needed to to teach her a lesson, and he thought he knew just the way...

Shortly after Zayah turned twenty, Yagiza confronted her at the brothel, telling her that he was fed up with her "childish rebellion", and that she better shape up unless she wanted to be sold off to someone whom he claimed "wouldn't be as compassionate as him". Zayah coldly pointed out that he wasn't at all compassionate to begin with, which prompted Yagiza to strike her across the face...but not before Zayah caught his wrist, crushed it, and declared that she wasn't going to be his bitch, or anyone else's bitch any longer for that matter. He wasn't going to sell her like some kind of animal, she warned, she was going to pack up her things and leave whether he liked it or not. Furious, Yagiza shoved her onto the floor and tore off her clothes from her body. If she wasn't going to behave herself and do what was asked of her, he was going to have to discipline her himself, he said. He straddled her and grabbed her roughly by her shoulders, forcing her to look at him in the eye while he had his way with her. Furious, Zayah looked at him in the eye, alright...while placing both her hands on his wrists and channelling the searing heat and flames of her element, Fire. This took Yagiza by surprise, and he let go of her. The redheaded Firebender wasted no time and pummelled him, cracking his jaw, his ribs and one of his legs, leaving him on the ground, struggling to get up. Zayah then taunted him by creating a pair of fireballs. "Look familiar?" She said mockingly, noticing the haunted look in his eyes before thrusting the fire towards the ceiling, which immediately caught fire. She then left, never looking back at the burning building, or turning towards the screams.

Now on her own and free, Zayah fully resumed her training under Mesha and was now free to make her own way in life, without being under anyone's thumb. She resumed her job as a hitman-for-hire and bought her own small place to live in. She began training with swords and daggers at first, before switching over to a pair of kama, which became her weapon of choice. Under Mesha, her technique advanced to the point that she was able to participate in back-alley tournaments to support herself and win often, be it in a straight-up fight or in battles of bending. Some of her opponents commented that she was more than good enough to go for pro-bending, but Zayah declined, claiming there's bound to be too many rules involved. So, life continued for her, and she gained a new sort of notoriety among the lower circles of Republic City. Despite that, she was much happier than she was back when she was a courtesan. She was free, she didn't have to answer to anyone, and no one was watching her movements any longer...

But someone was watching the redheaded Firebender, and that someone did not like the sight of Zayah wasting her potential on illegal endeavors. That someone was Mesha's younger brother, Simha, who was recently in the city for a week's visit and at the end of said week, grilled Mesha on why he wasn't making his student go into pro bending. Unsatisfied with his reason, he went over to one of his contacts, a high-ranking official in the Armed Forces of the White Lotus, and relayed what he had seen, before suggesting that they threaten Zayah with arrest in order to ensure her cooperation. And, that's what they did. They pointed out that Zayah was a career miscreant, and told her that they were going to give her a choice...either join the forces or face jail time. Now, Zayah knew that the Order of the Red Sun was closing in every day, and if she had to be honest, it was only a matter of time before she was going to fall victim to them and be forced to adopt their ways...and Zayah did not want that. Right then and there, she joined the forces, though she remained one of its more difficult-to-control members.

Firebending Abilities:
- Fire Daggers
- Fire Whip - Takes the form of a fiery scorpion's tail, shorter in range but hits harder.
- Fire Stream
- Fire Punch and Fire Kick
- Fire Blade - Takes the form of Kama (a single one or a pair), the weapon she typically wields.
- Extinguish
- Fire Comet
- Jet Propulsion

Other Abilities:
- Kama weapon proficiency
- Enhanced strength

Other:
- As mentioned above, very strong physically; if her bending is taken away from her, she would continue with a good ol' fistfight.
- Loves spicy food, and she often cooks spicy stuff too.
- Though she hates to admit it, she has an odd weakness for Jennamite (rock candy). She's sort of ashamed of this fact, however, and only eats it in private...she enjoys the challenge of finishing it before it finishes her, and it did almost engulf her more than once!
- She knows some first aid...very painful first aid that is. She cauterizes wounds by burning them via Firebending, or disinfects them with whatever sort of alcohol is in her bottle. Before doing anything, though, she first knocks out her patient out cold with a nice, swift punch. She doesn't know how to sew wounds, however, as she doesn't know how to sew period!

Metallic Wonder
This is an amazingly written RP and I am honored to be part of it. Posting my WIP as of now, to work on later when i have more time.

Name: Saizo Akagi

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Class: Firebender/Lightningbender
7Pfn9yu.png

Appearance: Saizo is a tall young man, standing at 190 cm. tall. He has a lean, fit appearance due to a strict upbringing with daily training regiments, which resulted in his toned physique. His skin is also slightly tanned due to spending a lot of time out in the sun. His hair is dark green in color, and is short and spiky, requiring very little effort in order to manage it the way he wants to. His eyes have a golden hue, and is almost always locked in a relaxed, somewhat carefree look.

For clothing, Saizo always dress lightly. Being a Firebender and having an affiliation with fire, he has a high temperature tolerance, making it hard for him to be cold. His usual attire consists of pretty standard Fire Nation attire, with a pair of dark red trousers, and matching red sleeves. He wears a sleeveless tight, hooded top which is dark grey in color. His shoes are also black, and easy to move around in. He wears a black sash around his waist which has a few holsters on it, where he carries a variety of items. His attire is modeled so that he can move about freely without much restraint, and he often criticize the armored attires of others because of this.

Personality: Saizo is an easygoing, laid-back and open minded individual that takes life at his own pace. He enjoys the company of others, and is pretty simple to befriend. His easygoing nature and attitude towards other people might make him come across as naive at times, even though he is always wary of the intentions of others. He doesn't hold grudges, which is uncommon from a Firebender, and he doesn't share the common belief amongst his nation that they are superior to the other nations. Despite this, however, he is not without his flaws. He does have a rather high opinion of himself, though he doesn't go around and brag about it. He is well aware of his own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to his bending, fighting in general, and his place in the world.

DHis laidback and carefree nature also makes him come across as lazy, even though that is far from the truth. Saizo is a very disciplined individual, and is in touch with his emotions to the point where he could learn lightninbending. Even though he doesn't wear his feelings on his sleeves, he is an emotional character, and has a fiery drive within him that does not show through his appearance. He is likely to voice his emotions rather than showing them, hoping to solve any potential emotional issue as fast as he can. He values strength, and enjoys sparring with others in order to better himself, and to help others become better as well. He knows the roots of firebending lies within the individuals emotions, and his emotional control is what makes him an amazing bender. He is a pretty straight forward person, and is quite blunt when speaking to others. Overall, he seems oblivious to the dangers around him, even though he is very calculating and cunning. He would be someone who would try to keep everyone calm during distress, if not in a somewhat unorthodox way.

Socially, Saizo is somewhat of a social butterfly. He loves the company of others and enjoys making friends. He has a good sense of humor, and can see the positive in more or less any situation. His outgoing and easygoing nature can make him seem naive, and easily manipulated, but this is far from the truth. Though he doesn't get angry often, he is one of those kinds of people that would be very scary when angry. He believes in the good of others, though he is no fool. He doesn't hold grudges, and if he is wronged, his retaliation is swift, and hard. However, to his friends, he is a loyal, and helpful individual, always trying to get others to smile, though often in his own ways.

History: Born into a wealthy and influental family in the Fire Nation, Saizo's childhood was both strict and educational. From an early age, he showed great promise in the art of Firebending, easily outmatching his older sister and his younger brother. As of such, it was Saizo who was going to inherit the family name when the time came. Not too surprisingly, his sister, Amaura, was not very happy with this, and a sibling rivalry developed between the two. His younger brother, Jin, didn't bother with the rivalry, and loved his siblings equally.

Saizo's Father was also a high ranking officer in the Fire Nation's army, and was often away on missions from the Fire Lord. In the meantime, Saizo and his siblings were mostly raised by their mother, and by the family retainers. Home-educated, and taught the Fire Nation values, more importantly, about the order of the red sun. Saizo never took things very seriously, as he was a natural at most things, which angered his sister, who was the rational of them. Annoying as it was, Saizo was still the favorite child, something he really enjoyed. Life was pretty decent in the Fire Nation. While the grown ups were at War, Saizo and his siblings learned from the best. All from History, the importance of the comets, the other nations and their beliefs and to firebending in general. Despite all the knowledge and education they recieved, Saizo had never actually been outside of the Fire Nation. Having been told that his future lies within the Fire Nations military like his father, he'd just accepted that as fact, and never bothered to think more about the other nations.

The sibling rivalry only escelated between Saizo and his sister, to the point where their sparring sessions turned into heated fights for their lives. Their relationship wasn't made much better after Saizos lightningbending abilities surfaced, making him stand out in the family even more. Though lightningbending wasn't as uncommon as it used to be, there hadn't been a lightningbender in the Akagi family for several generations. Saizo was immediately put under the guidance of two Fire Nation Elders, Kana and Morgan. Under their guidance, Saizo learned the techniques passed down through generations. His progress was also pretty quick and promising, which to him meant that he would have to enroll in the army earlier than originally planned. Not too surprisingly, this was not something Saizo wanted, as he never wanted to serve in the army at all. All he wanted to do was to find a good husband, and settle down either within the nation, or in the Earth Kingdom.

As his enrolling int he military came closer, he devised a plan that would hopefully work out in his best interest. He had taken his sister aside in order to let her in. Unwillingly at first, Amaura decided to listen anyways. Earlier that year, a representative from the White Lotus had come visiting, having expressed awe and interest in Saizo's skills. The word about the proginy Firebender had not gone unnoticed in the other nations, and the representative had saught him out in hope of recruiting him to fight the Order of the Red Sun, before their beliefs and ways of opperating had been inprented unto him by his elders. For many years, he had brushed off the meeting as someone who wants him to fight a war. Though in recent years, he is seeing it more and more like a way for him to get out and see the world.

However, he was the heir to the family name. He could not just escape without consequences. Entering the plan: Saizo and Amaura was training by the shores of the nation, when Saizo would pretend to slip, and fall to his death. After this, his sister would step forward as the responsible one, taking his place in the family. It was a win win situation, and both of them parted on good terms. Easy as pie. somehow unexpected, the plan came through without a hitch. Saizo was now "officially" dead, and Amaura got her wish to be the familys heir come true. Using a Fire Navy ship, Saizo and a small handpicked crew set out towards the Earth Kingdom, where he would learn more about this White Lotus.

Firebending Abilities:
- Fire Punch and Blaze Kick: By conjuring flames on his hands and feet, Saizo's martial art becomes stronger.
- Flame shuriken: Saizo creates small projectiles from flames which he throws with great accuracy.
- Fire stream: A basic firebending skill where Saizo creates a stream of fire from his hands
- Fireballs: Another basic skill. Saizo creates balls of fire which he hurls at his opponents.
- Jet Propulsion: By creating a massive amount of flames, Saizo can propel himself at high speeds.
- Extinguish: Saizo can nullify other Firebenders flames.

Lightningbending Abilities
- Lightning Generation: By seperating his positive and negative energies, he can create powerful electricity.
- Lightning Bolt: After generating electricity, Saizo can shoot eject it from his power in the form of powerful bolts.
- Lightningrod: Saizo can absorb electrical currents from other mediums, and redirect and use them as he pleases.

Other:
- He is gay.
- He is a pretty good cook.
- He is very agile, and very skilled with dual swords.

Monster Guy

Fairy type Trainer
Name: Tikaani Aput

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Class: Waterbender

Appearance:
Ie40FQD.png
xa2vrtO.png
A5oaYPS.png

Tikaani stands tall at 6'3". He is physically fit and quite strong, with a toned athletic physique that he is quite proud of, that he obtained from years of training, and generally being active. He has a brown skin tone due to his Water Tribe heritage. His face is round, free of blemishes, and rather boyish. His facial features are marked by large expressive ocean blue eyes, a small nose, and a usually smiling mouth. These features give him a rather youthful appearance. He has short messy black hair, with sideswept bangs that cover his forehead, and go to his eyebrows. He knows his hair is a mess, but doesn't really care to do anything about it, claiming it adds character to his look. Except for the top of his head, and eyebrows, the rest of his upper body is void of any hair.

Like most Water Tribe members, Tikaani wears shades of blue and white in his clothes, colors associated with water and snow. His clothes are usually made from materials one can easily obtain in the South Pole. While at home in the in the South Pole, Tikaani is generally bundled up for the cold. He wears a thick, hooded, blue coat lined with white fur and usually dresses in layers. He wears a pair of white breeches as his bottoms, and tall blue boots as his footwear. He also wears blue with white fur lined mittens on his hands.

When he is not in the snow, Tikaani ditches the coat, and wears clothing that he finds much more comfortable. He wears a blue tunic with a low neckline. The tunic had sleeves at one point, but Tikaani intentionally cut them off, and now there is only fraying at the shoulder area. He wears a white sash tied around his waist. He also abandons the mittens, but does wear a pair of blue leather bracers around both wrists that go up to his elbows.

He sometimes ditches the tunic, and just goes without a shirt altogether. Usually when meditating under a waterfall, or when practicing his bending.

Personality: The main thing you should know about Tikaani, is that he has been told time and again, that he has the temperament of an Airbender. He is extroverted, bubbly, chatty, and boisterous. He is a very social person. He likes making friends and being surrounded by people. He is not picky about who he gets to know either, preferring to find some good in everyone. He is an outgoing, handshaking, touching kind of guy. He openly expresses affection through hugs, holding hands, as well as stroking and grabbing shoulders. He makes friends easily, and will happily chat up strangers if they interest him somehow. He enjoys social situations, and believes that everyone else would too. He's likely to convince people who he perceives as being lonely to come along with things like 'come on, you'll enjoy it!' or 'you don't know what you're missing!' Especially when he wants somebody to go Penguin Sledding with. While he does need to spend time alone once in a while, he gets bored if he does it too long. He values all his relationships, and will happily stick with anyone he considers a friend.

Tikaani is a cheerful, upbeat person. He can often be found with a smile on his face, even during stressful situations. He often makes jokes, when the situation is tense to lift people's spirits. He may tease others in a 'playful' way, and expect them not to 'take it so seriously.' He does feel bad if somebody does actually get their feelings hurt by what he says. Sometimes his attempts at humor are read as him not taking the situation seriously. While he does joke around a lot, he is capable of getting things done. He just doesn't feel the need to be so dour about it. He often suggests that others not be so serious. He always gets a giggle when he tells someone to 'chill out' considering he comes from a cold place, and can freeze water. In fact, he likes to make Water/Ice puns when he can get away with it.

Tikaani loves being a Waterbender, and enjoys showing off his skills for others in order to get praise. He has high self-esteem and is prone to bragging. He does it in a 'look at this awesome thing I can do!' way, rather than an 'I'm better than you.' way. He enjoys getting attention from others, and If nobody is paying attention to him, he will barge into a conversation or say something in order to attract some attention. He gets very uncomfortable if he feels left out.

He likes to live in the moment rather than dwelling on the past. This means Tikaani is not the best when it comes to organization, or planning. Due to his lack of planning ahead, it makes him impulsive, and he tends to jump into things without a second thought. He gets bored when he is not sufficiently stimulated, and will complain about being bored. He is also not the most tidy person. He does clean up his mess after the fact if it's pointed out to him, but he has trouble avoiding making a mess in the first place. He normally has trouble focusing, however he is soothed by the sounds of rainfall, a rushing waterfall, or the sound of running water in general. Meditating under a waterfall helps him think, and he'll often intentionally leave a faucet running if he's having trouble sleeping.

Emotionally, Tikaani is very easygoing. He is always up for a good time, and loves adventure and trying new things. He is willing to try anything once. He has a very long fuse, and you really have to do a lot to anger him. His anger can be explosive when something does set him off enough. After the fact though, he'll be profusely apologising about it, then expecting everything to all be water under the bridge after that. Even when he does get angry, he is quick to 'forgive and forget.' Aside from anger, he expresses his other emotions rather freely. He cries when he is sad, and visibly expresses his joy when he is happy. He is sensitive to the emotions of others, and will be the first to cheer someone up if he thinks their upset, as well as defend others from bullies.

At the end of the day, Tikaani is a kind and loyal friend who just likes to have fun.

History: Tikaani was born in the South Pole, a member of the Southern Water Tribe. Tikaani's father was a warrior, and died in battle when the boy was very young. Thus, the boy has little to no memories of him. All he knows about his father are some photographs his mother had, as well as things his mother told him. For the majority of his life, it was only Tikaani and his mother, and Tikanni was responsible for a lot of household things while his mother worked as a healer in the village. Primariy fishing, and cooking meals. He would go out on boat rides with his uncle on his mother's side to catch fish, and diving for sea prunes and fresh seaweed. His uncle also taught him how to navigate and steer a boat, because Water Tribesman should be able to navigate the seas. His mother however was the one that taught him to cook. The boy really liked to eat, and she felt it best that he learn to make his own meals sometimes. His cheerful and upbeat persona made Tikaani popular with his peers. He found it very easy to make friends with people. In between his chores, he made time to play with the other younger children in the village, whom he thought of as siblings. He particularly enjoyed going Penguin Sledding with them, although he was often the one who had to make sure the other kids didn't hurt the otter penguins.

While he was happy at home, Tikaani has always wanted to leave his small settlement in the South Pole, see the rest of the world, and potentially have a cool adventure. Mainly because he got bored with the day-to-day routine at home. Tikaani finally found some excitement in his life when he learned he was a Waterbender at the age of 12. He found out while he was watching his mother bend, and imitating her movements for fun. Obviously, he didn't have much control of it at that time, and the end result was Tikaani getting wet. After that, he trained with Waterbending masters in the tribe, as well as his own mother to hone his skill. Surprisingly, Tikaani took to bending rather quickly. Even though the masters didn't particularly care when the boy referred to it as 'cool water magic.' His boundless joy and enthusiasm overwhelmed a lot of the people who tried to teach him. He got bored with studying and often just wanted to play. The ones who actually mananged to hold his interest were his mother, and Nukka, the chief of the southern tribe. He learned a lot during his lessons and became a skilled Waterbender.

At 14 years was the age when a boy takes part in the Southern Water tribe rite of passage of ice dodging. This was usually something a boy did with his father, but Tikaani's father was dead. Fortunately, there was a reason why his uncle taught him to sail a boat when he was younger. He took Tikaani out to sea, and had to guide the boat through iceberg infested waters. It was difficult but Tikaani managed to do it, and he earned himself a Mark of the Trusted on his forehead for proving to be exceptionally steady and dependable.

When he turned 18, Tikaani decided that he learned all he could in his small village. He wanted to leave the South Pole, see the rest of the world. He did after all know how to sail and could Waterbend like no one's business. His mother was hesitant to let her only child go off into the world all by himself. She had to be convinced to let him go. First, by her brother, who stated that he was an was an adult now, and was capable of taking care of himself. Then Cheif Nukka told her she had a way to make sure her son would stay protected. So, reluctantly, and with a tearful good-bye on the day he was to leave, she let her son go off and see the world. Tikaani promised his mother he would return someday.

As far as how Nukka would make sure he stayed safe? She recommended him to join The Armed Forces of the White Lotus. A Resistance group that was working against the order of the Red Sun. The Southern Tribe hadn't yet been affected by the order yet, but if past events were any indication, it would only be a matter of time before that changed. Nukka had seen his bending skills, and knew he would make a good addition to the group. Every resistance group needs a healer after all. It would work out well for everyone. Tikaani wouldn't have to be alone, he woud be kept safe, and he would be doing the world a great service. Tikaani was informed of this plan, and happily went along with it. Finally he could have the adventure he always wanted to have, and make some new friends in the process. He made his way towards the resistance's base of operations in the Earth Kingdom. Although, he did take his time getting there. He stopped at a lot of other places along the way.

Plantbending: This is something he's still working on. He can manipulate small forms of plant life fine, but has difficulty with larger things.

Other: It's not shown in the Recolor avatar, but he carries a canteen filled with water both for drinking and bending.

He has a big appetite, and he enjoys traditional Water Tribe foods (including stew made with sea prunes, which is an acquired taste,) as well as more exotic foods. He enjoys sweets the most. As such, he's learned to cook in order to satisfy his appetite.

He knows how to sail, though only a small boat. A big ship is out of his level of experience.

He can use the Water Tribe style club and boomerang.

He is attracted to both males and females.

Well-Known Member
Name: Ulva

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Class: Waterbender

Appearance:
gYTOEGq.png

Ulva is a statuesque man. Muscular and broad-shouldered, he can be an imposing figure, standing a few inches above six feet. His physique come from years of intense combat training. He has a darker, bronze complexion. His head is oblong in shape and his facial features are angular and intense. A light scruff decorates his face, giving him a rugged appearance. This is aided by a slight scar across right brow, leaving a gash in what is otherwise a bushy pair of eyebrows. His greenish-blue eyes are much warmer and inviting than they deserve to be, considering his stern demeanor, but ultimately hinting at the compassion beneath his icy visage. His hair is short and wavy, reaching just below his ear. He maintains a low length of the sides and back. He wears a circlet to keep it out of his face. The color brings chestnuts to mind.

Ulva typically dresses in colors associated with the sea and winter. He has deep respect for the Water Tribe cultures and carries the traditions with him wherever he goes. He is a warrior first and dresses accordingly. Typically adorned in furs, leathers, and bone, he is prepared for cold climates. He adjusts his attire for warmer climates and adapts to lighter fabrics that maintain a level of protectiveness.

Personality:
Ulva is not the most expressive person. You would never find him openly sharing his feelings to those he doesn’t know well. He tends to be stoic and reserved, conflicting with the passion that keeps him going. He is a firm believer in actions speaking louder than words and prefers to show rather than tell. Ulva is very perceptive, almost supernaturally so. He does a good job at pick up on the emotions and motives of others, making him a good judge of character.

Ulva fights to protect and is ultimately altruistic, hoping to foster the good in the world. However, he is not blind to the cruelties of the world and shows no mercy to those who force others to suffer. He is not one to settle. He has high expectations for others and even higher ones for himself. This strict, blunt nature has earned him a reputation for being tough, often leading others to believe him to be intimidating and mean. He doesn’t mind this reputation as it often affords him some peace and quiet. Once people get to know him, they’ll find there’s more to him, such as the fact that he is quite nurturing and caring.

History:
Ulva’s father, a warrior, and his mother, a craftsman, raised him with much love, some of it tough, but love nevertheless. He is the eldest of their children, having a three sisters and a brother. Ulva admired the warriors of the Water Tribe and how they protected their people from threats. He wished to be like them. He would spend hours pretending to be a swordsman, swing around sticks like blades. As soon as he could, he requested to be trained.

Ulva took his training seriously. He would work tirelessly to hone his skills. His dedication didn’t go unnoticed. He was often given important task to complete and chosen as commander for combat practice. He drew the envy of fellow warriors, but they were too afraid to actually challenge him.

Haphazardly, during an intense skirmage, Ulva discovered he had the capability to waterbend. He was confused, excited, shocked, and much more, but he viewed this as a chance to expand his capabilities. He mostly focused on developing his waterbending as a support to his weapon skills. Over time, he grew more comfortable in the art. Over the years, he grew into a formidable warrior, gaining the attention of the Armed Forces of the White Lotus. He realized it would only be a matter of time before the Order of the Red Sun’s influence reached his tribe. Ulva accepted their offer and set off to halt the spread of danger.

What do I do now?
I'm sorry, Minteh, I believe I'm going to have to drop. I wanted to make a chi-blocker, martial artist/nonbender type to add something new, but I just haven't been able to hammer out a good sign up out of it. Either way, I hope the RP goes well for you guys when it's up and running!

No worries, Comet! Thanks for your interest anyways! :)

And @Cobalt XIV Your sign-up looks good to me. Ideally I would've wanted a bit more detail, but I can understand your struggles...this universe can be a bit complex to wrap your head around at times. But yes, you're accepted!
