Bad trade?

I traded my koga's Kakuna evolving into beedrill for my friends Dark Charizard
was that a bad trade or not?

Depends on condition and editions.

If you traded a 1st ed. Koga's Kakuna for an unlimited edition rare(not holo) Dark Charizard, then yeah, that was a bad trade.

If you traded the same 1st ed. card for a holo unlimited Dark Charizard, then that would be an equal trade.

The common/uncommon 1st ed. sets have become far harder to obtain than the 1st ed. rares/holos because most of these C/Us were discarded because most people thought they lacked value.

That's fine. I prefer to collect cards, so, having a card in mint condition is very important to me.
