Kris

Kris pounded her fists against the tree in frustration. It was a tall twisted old oak, several of its branches were broken and there was a black splotch near the top of the trunk. It was the kind of marking that only comes from lighting or fire. There was supposed to be a portal to the spirit realm here. A couple of blue sparks weaved their way through her mess of short black hair. She pounded the tree a couple more times for good measure. It didn’t give.

What was going on? I should be able to get through. Is this the right tree, I can touch it, she told herself.

Kris turned away from the tree; she was in a wooded area of the park, so there was no one in sight. She was going to have to find another gateway, (She didn’t know about them all being sealed.) so she would have to go search the town. This search would take a while, she could walk through walls but she couldn’t fly, so it might take some time to locate another portal. So maybe she’d have another scare or two along the way, and maybe a little electrical snack. She’d drained a whole car battery earlier, but if she was going to stay in the human realm longer she’d probably need a little more. She walked out of the wooded section of the park. There were people here; a couple kissing by the trees, a little girl chasing a dog around while her father watched camera in hand. They ignored her, not because they couldn’t see her, but because they didn’t know she was a ghost.

Anzakior walked down the street. He was.....bored, shall we say? He wasn't
hungry, which was good to all near him. He was corporeal currently. He
yawned" Things can be a bit boring....." He didn't sleep. He was a soul eating
demon, and those don't usually have a bedtime. He wanted someone to talk to. He got hungry then....He went into the park and turned uncorporeal. He saw a coupe kissing. He had a good meal off of them.....He then saw someone with a camera. They seemed to be running. "Well, now, we can't have that." Anzakior ate the souls of him and the little girl, and just killed the dog out of boredom. He was no longer hungry. He saw another ghost. He walked to her, away from the bloody scene and said innocenntly "Hello, whu are you?"

OOC: Pretty messed up, eh? Just setting the mood for the rest of my role in the RP.

Cassidy looked up blandly from the algebra problems that had been boring her as she laid on her bed, body spred-eagle across the Winnie-the-Pooh bedspread. The room was silent and her mother was out shopping, and she looked around. Empty. She had told dad today! It was her BIRTHDAY for Christ's sake, and he hadn't shown up. Not one flicker.

Cassidy groaned, rolling over onto her back and staring blankly at the cieling. It was white, with a few colored spots of various blood from creatures she'd been forced to vanquish in her years as a witch. She store at them, counting the red ones (from her, attempting to yield a knife in her early stages of telekinis, which hadn't gone too well) and the other colors, shades of green, blue (from said "creatures").

She sat up with surprise as she heard a sound, looking around the room agian. It was just Lilly, her dog.

"Hey L-" she cut off, reaching for her dog to pet her, but let out a gasp as the premonition over-powered her. She saw a ghost murdering a camera man and a little girl, whom she could only assume was his daughter, and then the ghost killed a dog, creating the obvious link between the premonition and the event. Just as quickly as it had come on, it came off, leaving Cassidy panting heavily.

"Well, we can't have spirit-eating ghosts hanging around now. Damn those evil ghosts," she groaned, throwing on her jacket.

She scribbled a lame note to her mother:

Gone for more dog food, be back later. Call me if you need me
-Cass

She then zipped up her mini-spellbook in her backpack and headed out towards the park she'd seen in her vision. Time to kick some ***.

Anzakior walked to the electrical spirit that waas there. He then sat down. He waited for the witch....out of pure experience, he knew that a witch usually shows up....he liked killing them....so much blood...and normal humans got boring.

He looked to the sky. "Light.....hmmm...." He layed down. He turned uncorporeal and got his sword. "Waiting....waiting...."He stood up. He saw a human....perhaps 15? She was looking for something.....she was the witch....why not go to her? He was behind her instantly. He turned corporeal. "Hello there, witch. Come to die?"

Kris stood frozen in terror. The spirit in front of her was an evil soul eater, and prepared to eat the witch-girl. She liked scaring humans, but this was too much. He’d already killed four people and a dog, this was serious. They were souls too, even if restricted by bodies.

She charged up some energy into her hands. If she struck the spirit it would attack her instead of the witch, and she couldn’t fly. She was also pretty sure he could walk through walls. Maybe if she struck the girl, killed the body, her soul could get away? Kris really didn’t know what to do.

“Leave her alone,” she blurted out before she could think.

*Oops guess i missed the start*

Nicola was walking around seeming to be gaining more energetic as she moved. The cold air seemed to be a kind of energy source for her. Being a spirit she would feed off something that living humans do not. Although she was a spirit she looked alot like a regular human. She was walking around a near-by park. Looming around she noticed a few people all doign there own things. Out of complete boredom she colapsed onto the floor and just began to stare straight up at the sky. As she continued to stare upwards she heard someone shouting and sat up to watch what was going on. Standing up she began to edge closer to get a better look. Looking around for a way toi get closer she found a stick just lying on the ground. "I'ts only temporary." Nicola said to herself as she formed her body to inhabit the stick. Once again she began to move closer hoping they woulnd't find a mobing stick out of the ordinary.

"Many spirits roaming....I guess many were caught....No matter, though this witch's soul shall be good...." He looked to the electrical ghost. She seemed to be charging something, and aiming at him. He personally did not enjoy being hit with lightning, so this was a bit angering. "Ha...ha....ha....." He paused and looked at her. "You think that you can harm me with your pitiful.....lightning?....You shall die next should you aim your attack at me......stay out of this, as it is none of your concern." He loosened his grip on the witch." What do you want? To save her? She didn't save you....." And then he tightened his grip. That shall anger the witch.....emotional pain.....physical pain......all so beautiful.....blood as well....rosish red.....drops puring out as they screamed..... Anzakior thought to himself. This witch shall die with the rest. His sword appeared in his hand. "Go now, to thine grave, young hunter. I shalt not be thine prey. Ye shall be mine." He whispered into her ear.

Cassidy's hair flung wildly around her pinked cheeks, causing it to appear even more violently red. Lilly's golden fur swished as she jogged alongside her master, Cassidy thought it was better to have her dog come along with her. That way, if the ghost caught her, Lilly could tackle it, bark, or get help. Lilly was extremely smart for a dog.

Cassidy slowed as she reached the park, her breath short and her skin covered in beady sweat. She pulled out her spell book, flipping to E (yes, she had alphabatized it, easier organizing) and flipped past other E spells (Eggplant spell, who needs that?) and found Exorcism. She flipped past the page, which happened to have a fairly eerie blood stain (the exorcism that Cassidy used involved Chicken blood, a vile of which was in her coat), and read off the spell to herself several times, so that she could use it with haste.

She shoved the spell book into her bag, then pulled out the chicken blood, keeping it clenched in her hand as she began to scan around the park. Cassidy walked over to a bench, standing on it to better her view. Lilly trotted after her, at first plesantly, but the golden fur on her back began to rise. A deep growl grew in Lilly's throat, charging up like a car motor. She then let out a bark as the ghost came from behind Cassidy, wrapping his arms around her.

Lilly barked angrily as the ghost tightened his grip on the struggling Cassidy, who tried to make up an excuse.

"Hello there witch, come to die?" the ghost asked.
"Witch?" Cassidy croaked, struggling to push the ghost's arms off of her, "What- are you talking about?" She squeezed the chicken blood in her hand harder. She needed to get rid of him. NOW.

Just as Cass was about to release the cork on the blood vile, a voice called out, "Leave her alone!" Cassidy gasped, she knew that voice. A long-lost memory, tried to push aside. She tried to shove it back down her throat, that lump that had grown there, but it stayed. She knew the other ghost could feel it. And she knew he'd prey on it.

He was now babbling something about how yummy Cassidy's soul would be, Cass began to tug on the cork from the loosened grip, pulling at it slightly. But it stuck. He had her other hand in his, if she could just get it free. His speech continued, he was mocking Kris's powers. Cass KNEW why she had those powers. She'd WITNESSED the death... Don't think about that, just the cork, and the spell. Cork. spell. Cassidy thought desperately, struggling to get her hand free.

Before Cassidy knew it, the grip was tightened agian, tighter then before, causing her to yelp in pain. A sword flashed before her, reflecting in her focused green eyes. Those eyes lit up immediately, an idea brightening them. She used her telekinisis, throwing the sword out of the ghost's hand, it landed about seven feet away, blade stuck in the ground.

Cassidy shoved her foot onto the ghost's foot, wondering if he could feel pain. But it was enough to surprise him, giving Cassidy a moment's advantage, which she used, rolling out of his grasp then yanking the sword out of the ground, and pointing it at him. She knew this wasn't enough to kill him, but it gave her a slight advantage. At least he didn't have the blade.

"Time to go hunting," she said slyly, as her faithful dog, Lilly appeared at her side, the growl growing to an all-time high in her throat.

"You believe.....you believe that I shall be defeated? I have walked the closest of what hell is. I have killed 1,000 of your kind.....perhaps you were related to some?" He was behind her in an instant, ripping the blade from her hand. (Don't forget about his short range teleporting) "Chicken blood.....do not attempt with that.....it leads only to failure. You are not an old one.....I doubt you have much of a chance." Anzakior was not stupid. While making this little speech, he had looted the witch of all of her magic goods. HYe swiftly grabbed her dog by the tail and flung it into a tree, knocking it out. He smelled blood. "Blood....." He knew that without magic items, witches tended to do one of 4 things:
1. Use telekinesis
2. Run
3. Try to get them back
4. Die

Let's see which she chooses.....meanwhile, this knife may make a nice little friend for my sword in this battle. He slashed at her, drawing blood, which seemed to ooze down and streak on her clothes. " Blood......." He tired of the witch.....this would end now..... and he would have a full stomach.......

"Come on!" Cassidy yelled in frustration, crouching down on her hands and knees. She knew she'd done that damned anti-teleportation spell wrong. She glanced at the at the spell book (still disguised as a French/English dictionary), the red chicken blood, then finally her eyes rested on the shining blade. In a flash, the ghost slashed at her with the blade, a long line of blood appeared on her arm, oozing and staining on her clothing.

Cassidy groaned, even more frustrated now. She inhaled deeply, and decided that it was best to weigh her options. She couldn't try to run, the ghost would follow her. Telekinisis won't work again, he knows the extent of my weaker power. If only premonitions could hurt somebody. Cassidy's eyes brightened as she thought this. Once, she'd fought a werewolf that whenever he touched her, she'd gotten a premonition of one of his past victims. Somehow through touch, her premonition had transferred to him, and he'd felt the pain of his victims, collapsing emotionally and forced to run.

Cassidy considered, while sucking on the blood on her arm. That probably wouldn't hurt this guy. She needed help. Big help. Where the hell was her father?! Cassidy looked around, fear filling her heart. This had never happened before. Way to start an afternoon.

I should have stayed home and done my algebra homework, Cassidy thought with a groan. She looked at the ghost. A decision had to be made. Any of Cassidy's latest decisions would have screwed her over.

So, she turned to Kris, "Look," she then swallowed the thought and cut to the chase, "HELP!" Lilly's ears perked up at the yell, and she tried to charge forward, but Cassidy held her back.

"No girl, I can't let you get hurt," Cassidy said, turning to the dog, "Not now. Not-" she sniffed, the true emotional pain throbbing in her heart, "On my birthday," she looked down into her faithful dog's beautifully radient amber eyes, which reflected Cassidy's pain. All Lilly wanted was to be loyal to her master by protecting her, but now all she could do was stand by and watch her get beaten, emotionally as well as physically.
