~Bastion of the Tormented~ A One Piece RP

/Exiled/

EternallyParadoxical
I tried to start this RP a long time ago, but lost my internet usage, so I am bring it back. This time it will start!

Most of the One Piece back story will be explained, though it will help to have a basic understanding of the manga or anime; there will be references to existing characters and lore within the One Piece univrse. Once again, PLEASE have good general knowledge of the show and characters.

Yes, it is mandatory to read the prologue, I do not care if it is long.

~Prologue~

Five long, bitter years had passed since that fateful strike against the Marineford, headquarters of the world's Marine Forces. Luffy, presently one of the four great pirate lords, had charged in with the newly broken out prisoners of the impenetrable prison, Impel Down. An execution was set for Portgas D. Ace, thought to be the brother of Luffy; though the actual reason for his execution was much more disturbing. All this time, he had actually been an adopted brother, his real father being none other than the deceased King of Pirates, Gol D. Roger. Needless to say, Ace's crew, The Whitebeard Pirates, did not take kindly to the impending execution and showed up before the killing had taken place, declaring war against the forces of the Marines.

Eventually, the efforts were found to be not enough, the execution taking place at the last minute. Making a strong effort, the great Pirate Lord, Whitebeard was soon to follow in Ace's footsteps, leaving behind a strong mark on this planet. Quickly, the fiend Blackbeard took advantage of the situation, using an unknown insidious method to steal Whitebeard's devil fruit power out of his corpse, now giving Blackbeard two abilities; something previously thought impossible. After the residual battle had ended, it was discovered that Luffy was able to escape through the water, the events of this day leading way to a new age of piracy; inspiring the world to seek out adventure out of Whitebeard's immortal last words, "One Piece exists, it's out there."

In the year that followed, it became increasingly obvious that the world had been thrown into a state of chaos and turmoil; unable to truly tell who was in charge anymore, where anyone was safe, and even if you could trust your best friend. The islands that were once under Whitebeard's control fell into states of crazed warfare, the new captain, Marco unable to command the fear and respect his former leader could. It wasn't long until a new entity had risen up amongst the war torn rubble.

A mysterious man calling himself Creed rose up, speaking words of hope and protection. In this war torn world, there were so many begging for safety, so many other wanting to find a cause to fight for. Though he never actually made an appearance him self, instead preferring to be shrouded with mystery; his right hand woman, Saya, was an amazing speaker, preaching the words of his master to any island that would listen. Promising safety, peace, and sanctuary in this new Great Age of Piracy. At first skeptical, many were drawn in by Saya's actions; single handed, she was able to completely eliminate all turmoil on every island she managed to reach, her power seemingly other wordly.

More and more were drawn in by the promises of Creed, a land of peace. Eventually the number of followers grew to numbers rivaling even some of the Great Pirate Lords, establishing it's own society on an island in the Grand Line. Mighty walls were created around the island, creating a gated society in which it's inhabitants would live free of worldly desires and strife; no longer would war bring such pain and suffering. A paradise Creed simply named, the Bastion. A bastion for those tormented souls to seek refuge.

For the longest time, it was thought that the Bastion of the Tormented (as called by outsiders) was a wonderful creation, not imposing anything upon the world, only accepting people who wanted to join it's army or society; though this perception changed on one fateful evening. A Marine fleet was transporting secret technology from the East Blue into the Grand Line, into the eager hands of Dr. Vegapunk. The technology would never reach him though, a fleet of Creed's Warships appearing on the horizon, completely surrounding the Marines.

Despite the Marines' power and tactical skill, the ships were completely overwhelmed and boarded, having their cargo stripped before being completely destroyed, banished to the bottom of the sea. This attack was only the beginning though, as more and more marine and pirate ships were being sunk, the citizens of islands vanishing in the middle of the night. Creed's reach was outstretching too far, the fact that he didn't simply desire a peaceful island refuge becoming more and more disturbingly obvious. Though possibly most disturbing of all is that it seems that Creed has found a new ally in the Blackbeard pirates, possibly working together through a mutual alliance. (If you read the prologue, put "Can't wait to get this rp off the ground!" at the beginning of your sign up) This fact was made obvious when the nefarious pirate was seen leading a Creed attack fleet; two powerful forces were now banded together, continually increasing in power and posing a threat to this world.

It is true that they are not the only threat in this world. There are many great pirate lords, the powerful Marineford still standing strong in the Grand Line, but their power cannot be ignored. Their threat continually rising, threatening everything that piracy and even peace had to stand for. Though there were many still largely in support of Creed's army; supporting him for what he has already done for those who embrace his rule; further adding to the chaos and turmoil of this world.

~Plot~

Once a member of Monkey D. Dragon's legendary Revolutionary Army, the great commander, Kouu broke free of his control, deciding that Dragon was waiting and listening far too much; that this was a time to act, not wait for the impending destruction to occur. Leaving his fearsome leader's control once and for all, he gathered any who supported him and began calling himself a pirate captain. A being that is free of the Government's law, a creature of chaos and freedom. Though, his journey was to be a rather difficult one. His reasons for rising up against Creed's bastion were not fueled by hatred or revenge; or even a need to settle anything. Kouu could sense something most disturbing about this new order, something that went against everything he believed in, went against the freedom and chaos of the sea. He could not let Creed create a world of fear-fueled peace and entrapment; humans would become weak, dependent on Creed's ever protective reach to keep them safe from the horrors of reality. THIS was something Kouu himself and many others refused to stand for.

This is where you, the player comes in to play. You are a powerful fighter of great standing that has lost something dear and important due to Creed's interference. Either that, or you have other reasons to seek out revenge against this man; it doesn't matter if you were a pirate captain, a bounty hunter, or a marine soldier, your past has been forsaken now. Kouu has offered you a place in his crew that you cannot refuse, a chance to fight with powerful allies for a cause you strongly believe in. We will be playing as high ranking members of his crew, roughly lieutenant or general level, having a portion of subordinates working under you if you'd like that as well. Though ultimately our allegiance lies with the captain, following his commands to the best or our ability.

The story starts with our newly recruited characters meeting each other on Kouu's great ship, “Seabreaker.” We must learn to interact with each other and understand each other well enough to be able to fight for our cause, even if we ultimately do not get along. This time of understanding and acceptance will be crucial, for it will not be long before our great captain is to give us orders. Our first commands that will lead up to the dawn of a new world. It has been four months since Kouu began his journey, and all ready he was becoming a force that would stand up even to the greatest pirate lords we have ever seen.

You are now a crew member of Kouu's Silver Pirates.

Keep in mind, though defeating Creed will be the main focus of the story, there can and will be outside interference. Other pirates may attack us, we may end up going to battle with the marines... In this wold of piracy, one must be ready for anything. The plot may not be super fleshed out, but this is more or less going to be an open RP, I want the rpers to have freedom. Therefore plot points will be partially fleshed out as the RP progresses.

~General One Piece Knowledge~

The One Piece world is primarily a world of oceans, mostly covered with water. Rather than having large continents, the planet is mostly split into islands which require ships to venture between. In this land of water, piracy has reigned supreme; though they are forced to stand up to the forces of the Marines and World Government. Technology for the most part is rather undeveloped, though military technology has been shown to be quite advance. All manner of creature and magic may exist in this world, it is only limited by one's imagination. It was many years ago when the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger was executed; though before his execution was complete, he declared to the world that his legendary treasure, One Piece existed in the world and that it was the duty of all pirates to seek it out. To become the new king of pirates.

Places to know:

East Blue: One of the four major oceans of the One Piece world. It is also the weakest sea in the One Piece world, as most of the detrimental factors native to the other seas (especially in the Grand Line where the four seas unite) reside the least here.

West Blue: An ocean in the One Piece World. West Blue, like its sister seas, comprises almost entirely of ocean, with a few scattered islands and a border with Red Line.

North Blue:
An ocean in the One Piece World. North Blue, like its sister seas, comprises almost entirely of ocean, with a few scattered islands and a border with Red Line.

South Blue: An ocean in the One Piece World. South Blue, like its sister seas, comprises almost entirely of ocean, with a few scattered islands and a border with Red Line.

Grand Line/Red Line:
The Grand Line is the ocean current that follows an imaginary line that runs from north-west to south-east across the middle of the world and perpendicular to the Red Line. The Red Line is a vast continent that circles the globe from north-east to south-west. These two lines divide the two oceans of the world into four seas or Blues: North Blue, East Blue, West Blue, and South Blue. The Grand Line is said to be the most dangerous place in the world, and is sometimes referred to as the Pirates' Graveyard because of this reputation. Most believe that it is impossible to safely leave the Grand Line save at its beginning and end.

Logue Town: A city on an island in East Blue, with the city in covering nearly the entire island, save for a few steep hills, Loguetown is a major city. Almost all ships, especially Pirate Ships, pass through to stock up on supplies for the Grand Line since Loguetown is in a convenient location very close to Reverse Mountain, just out of sight of the Red Line.

Reverse Mountain: A mountain at one of the points where the four Blues meet and is one of the two known entrances to the Grand Line. This place is unique in that rivers from the Blues flow up the mountain, meet at the top, and then flow down into the Grand Line.

Drum Island: A Winter Island, located on the Grand Line. The Sakura Kingdom is located here. It is covered in snow and features a series of drum shaped mountains known as the Drum Rockies.

Arabasta:
A desert kingdom in the Grand Line. Alabasta is a Summer Island roughly half-way through the first part of the Grand Line.

Jaya: is a forest-covered island that was once much larger than it is now, due to over half of it being launched into the White-White Sea by Knock-Up Stream. The island was ruled by the Shandians four hundred years ago, who guarded the Poneglyph located in their city of gold, but they too were launched into the sky. In the present day, however, the island is mostly uninhabited other than a few towns.

Skypiea: is a land located in the sky above the Grand Line. The people are unique in that they have small wings on their backs, similar to the stereotypical angel, though no use has been revealed for them. The daily life of sky people revolves around the use of Dials, which normally aren't available in the Blue Sea. As opposed to the beli of the rest of the world, it uses extols as currency. The people of Skypiea have a religious reverence for soil, because it can yield plant life much better than island cloud can, and also other materials that comes from the Blue Sea.

Water 7:
is a city known for its shipwrights. The Straw Hat crew stopped here to trade in their gold for Beli, as well as repair the Going Merry and restock. It is part of the route their log is on, heading there directly after Skypiea. Once, Water 7 had seven docks, each were large dry docks used for building ships. Each one was run by a different company.

Enies Lobby:
known as The Judicial Island, is a government-controlled stronghold in the Grand Line. Enies Lobby is located on an island referred to as both an "afternoon island" and a "never-night island". Enies Lobby leads to Impel Down and the Marine Headquarters directly. Because of this, there are many Government Agents stationed here, roughly 10,000 troops, a mix of those from both the World Government and the Marines. The island also has a courthouse, which makes it easy to transfer high-level criminals through Enies Lobby and directly into Impel Down, or to the Marine Headquarters.

Sabaody Archipelago: is an area close to the Red Line. Though it is called an archipelago, it is actually a massive mangrove forest growing out from middle of the ocean with each tree of the forest serving as an "island" for which people live on. Since it is just a forest and not an island like those found in the Grand Line, it has no magnetic pull for which to affect a Log Pose. Soap like bubbles rise from the ground here. Due to the place being in close proximity to the part of the Red Line bordering the first half of the Grand Line and the New World, it is a highly visited rest stop for all sorts of travelers to prepare before entering the New World. Aside from its unique environment and it being a booming business hub, it is notable for the World Nobles who visit there and a thriving slave trade supported by them.

Impel Down: he Great Prison, is the World Government's maximum-security prison for the most dangerous criminals and pirates. It is located underwater in the middle of a Calm Belt.

Calm Belt: These areas almost never have ocean currents or winds blowing, and are also nesting grounds for Sea Kings. They are very effective barriers for those trying to enter the Grand Line.

Marineford:
It is where Fleet Admiral Sengoku and the three Admirals reside, along with many Vice Admirals and lower officers when they aren't assigned to another base. The city surrounding marine HQ is inhabited by the families of marine soldiers.

Other areas of interest will be introduced and explained during the rping process, just trust me on this.

People of Interest
((links provided for more information))

Marines:

Ex Fleet Admiral Sengoku:
A rather tall and intimidating man, he WAS the leader of all Marine forces, the highest ranking soldier possible. The three admirals served below him in power, and he only answered to the Five Elder Stars as his superiors. They are the leaders of the World Government itself; after the White Beard War, he left the Marines in disgust.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Sengoku

The Three Admirals:
They are the next in rank after Sengoku. They consist of the laid back, Aokiji, the absent minded and irresponsible Kizaru, and the cold, no nonsense Akainu; who believes in absolute justice. Aokiji and Akainu fought over the right to be the new Fleet Commander, and Akainu ultimately won, and now he is the Fleet Commander of the Marines.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Admirals

Vice Admiral Garp:
The hero who cornered the great Pirate King, Gol D. Roger many times in his adventures. He is the father of Monkey D. Dragon, and grandfather of Pirate Lord, Monkey D. Luffy.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Garp

Commodore Smoker:
A Marine who makes it his mission to hunt down pirates. He was famous for hunting down Monkey D. Luffy.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Captain_Smoker

Dr. Vegapunk:
Little is known about him other than the fact he's the leading authority on Devil Fruit research and all technology for the Marines.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Vegapunk

Pirates:

Monkey D. Luffy: Now one of the four great pirate lords along side, Red Haired Shanks, Kaido, and a mysterious woman referred to as Big Momma. After much conflict he took the place that Whitebeard left behind in this world. His crew consists of Swordsman and first mate, Roronoa Zoro, Nami the Navigator, Usopp the Marksman, Sanji the Chef, Chopper the Doctor, Nico Robin the Archaeologist, Franky the Shipwright, and Brook the Musician.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Straw_Hat_Pirates

Four Great Pirate Lords: Explained briefly above.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Yonkou

Super Novas: These were legendary rookies with bounties over 100,000,000 beli bounties on their heads. Now they are legendary pirates and may play a role in the later plot.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/The_Eleven_Supernovas

Blackbeard: A fearsome pirate who not only was the one to capture Portgas D. Ace, he was somehow able to steal Whitebeard's Devil Fruit ability straight out of his corpse. Little is known about this tyrant's true nature, but it is obvious now that he has some form of alliance with Creed.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Marshall_D._Teach

Others:

Seven Warlords of the Sea:
They are one of the three great forces of the world, between the Warlords, Pirate Lords, and the Marines. They are technically under control of the World Government, but they are more or less forces of neutrality. Most of whom used to be criminals, but have had their bounties wiped clean after making a deal with the Government. Crocodile, Blackbeard, Jinbei, Hancock, and Moria are no longer warlords.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Shichibukai

Revolutionary Army: Lead by the father of Luffy, Monkey D. Dragon, they are a force that is directly attempting to war against the World Government. They will not rest until they have accomplished this task.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Revolutionaries

Other Things:

Sea Stone:
A substance that nullifies Devil Fruit abilities when one comes in physical contact with it. Also repels Sea King attacks.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Sea_Stone

Fishmen: One of the races of the one piece world. They appear to be human/fish hybrids of any number of sea creature. Such as human/shark hybrids, or human/octopus hybrids. They are highly skilled in water combat and have super human strength.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Fishmen

Merfolk: Their upper half is that of a human while the lower half is that of a fish. Mermaids may walk on land as when they are thirty years old, their tails split into two. Like the Fishmen, they are based on the different fish of the Sea
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Merfolk

Haki: Is a mysterious conceptual force that only a few characters can use. It appears to be an ability of sorts that channels one's willpower, or "spirit", to intimidate opponents. However, its true nature has yet to be determined or stated. There are special types of Haki that only a certain group of "chosen ones" are said to possess. Haki can be used to attack directly ignoring the power of a Devil Fruit. King's Haki is a higher level form of Haki that can be used to knock out large groups of people It is much more powerful and few are seen to be able to use such a technique.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Haki

This information was provided to give general information on some important points of One Piece. This won't necessarily be an indicator of EVERYTHING in the RP, as I said before, good knowledge of the manga/anime is highly recommended.

~Devil Fruits~

THIS SECTION IS MANDATORY TO LOOK OVER.

They are mystical fruits that can give the eater many kinds of strange and interesting abilities depending on the fruit and its type. Devil Fruits are said to be the fruits of the Sea Devil and that the secret to their power is hidden in the Grand Line. Because encounters with them are rare (especially outside the Grand Line) a number of rumors about them have risen making it difficult to tell whether some things are fact or fiction. The average person knows nothing or very little about what they are or what they do.

they taste unimaginably horrible, to the point of making it seem like the eater had taken poison. The Devil Fruit, when consumed, gives the consumer a power or special trait though they won't immediately become aware of. They come in different shapes, colors, and all Devil Fruits have swirl marks on them of some kind. There can be only one of each type of fruit at a time. Only one bite is needed for the user to gain the power of a Devil Fruit, after which the Devil Fruit becomes a simple, useless, disgusting fruit.

With this new power comes a weakness: the sea rejects the new demon Fruit user and they become helpless while submerged in water. Running or moving water like rain do not effect the Devil Fruit Users though. There are three different classifications of Devil Fruit.

Classifications:

Paramecia: The most common of the three classes, users of Paramecia Devil Fruits gains super-human physical abilities. Other users can alter features of their bodies or their environment. Finally, there are some users than can manipulate and generate some kinds of substances. Though unlike Logia, they cannot physically change their whole body mass into the substance.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Paramecia

Zoan: The users of Zoan class Devil Fruits gains the ability to transform into an animal (and acquire every ability affiliated with the said animal). The user can also transform into a human-beast hybrid form. There are Zoan Devil Fruits not only for common animals, but for prehistorical or ancient animals and mythological creatures as well (ancient and mythological are rarer than logia).
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Zoan

Logia: The rarest of the three classes, users of Logia Devil Fruits gains the abilities to transform themselves into an element (making them intangible or indestructible). They also gain every ability related to that element and gains the skill to regenerate every part of their bodies (even their whole bodies) from that element. Logia users can increase and control every part of their transformed bodies into elements and control and make their elements.
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Logia

I'd like to ask the rpers not to use any Logia fruits. I know they are tempting, but I don't want any one character to grossly overpower any other character. Though remember, you can have paramecia versions of logia fruits. Like having a fire fruit that lets you create and control fire without turning into fire, etc... Also, please check the links under each fruit type and see if the power you want is already in use in the current One Piece story. If the power you want is already being used by a character in the One Piece manga/anime, please consult me about it before using it.

~RP only facts~

Creed's Army:

Creed: The Mysterious leader of The Bastion of the Tormented. Little is known about him, his past, his physical appearance, or even his abilities. From what has been seen of him, he seems to have a grayish tinged skin and he is very tall, towering at around 6'3 in height. He dons a dark blue robe with silver star-like markings covering it's entirety. These robes obscure most of his appearance. He has a warm, kind voice, and seems to act like a rather kind man. Treating his followers as a father would his children. Though most information on him is sheer speculation, considering he is almost never seen unless absolutely needed. More about him will become available later.

Saya: Creed's right hand woman, though not very much is known about her either, donning the same robes as her master does. She moves extremely quick and can kill dozens in the matter of seconds using two short swords she keeps strapped to her back. It is rumored she using some form of Devil Fruit, but there has been no solid proof of this yet. She is much smaller than Creed, standing at roughly, 5'2, and has a more human, pale skin. She has a commanding voice and is good at preaching the words of her master. When her hood is down, you can see that Saya has an elven, symmetrical face with a small nose and striking aqua eyes. Her hair is a deep midnight black and pulled back into a ponytail, letting her bangs fall back into her face.

Black Summit: Creed's most powerful warship. It is captained by an unnamed member of Creed's most powerful generals. Though besides the fact he is rather tall and wears the same robe as the other, nothing is known about him. Other powerful lieutenants and fights ride upon this warship as well.

Kouu's Army:

I'm going to give Kouu an actual character sheet, since he is not so shrouded in mystery.

Name: Kouu

Gender: Male

Age: 35

Affiliation:
Pirate (Captain of the Silver Pirates)

Devil Fruit:
Health Health fruit. It's a passive fruit ability that allows him to automatically start regenerating and healing from any physical damage or wound he suffers. He is also constantly recovering from stamina loss and sickness. Even bullet wounds will heal in the matter of minutes with him. To kill him you'd have to completely kill him in only a shot or two and completely destroy his head.

Fighting Styles:
Kouu fights with a shotel-like blade upon his back. http://www.oriental-arms.com/photos/items/62/001162/ph-0.jpg

It is adorned with a silver dragon rising up and going along the hilt of the blade, and it's made of a glistening silver alloy. When in combat, he uses his weapon with the skill of a grand master assassin. Moving at nearly inhuman speeds in order to take down his foe. Kouu could easily be considered one of the greatest fighters in the world. His fighting prowess mixed with his powerful devil fruit ability put him on the level that possibly even matches the admirals. Well, also considering he has an extremely good understanding of how to use haki.

Appearance: Kouu is a rather tall man, standing at 6'6 in height, with a lean muscular build to help with his speed and strength. His skin is quite pale, and he has a lean, muscular face with a chin that goes into a small point. His eyes are a striking light blue, and he has long, spiky, silver hair that cascades a third of the way down his back, creating spiky bangs in the front of his face as well. He wears a short sleeved white shirt, with a silver-gray tunic over it. The tunic is sleeveless with crossing ties near the top that he usually leaves loosely undone. The tunic is adorned with white swirl patterns going up it, making it rather distinctive. On each hand, he wears somewhat thick-leather gloves of the same silver-gray color, adorned with a single white swirl on the back of each hand. Around his waist, he wears a broad, sash-like belt that is the same silver-gray color adorned with small white swirls. In the center is a gleaming silver-dragon belt buckle. His pants are baggy and non-restricting, allowing him to move well in combat; they are white like his shirt. The pants bag quite a bit before they tuck into his boots which go nearly up to his knees. They are made of a thick gray-silver leather with the same white swirl pattern.

Personality: Kouu is a rather grim man with a dark sense of humor. He enjoys gambling and drinking when he's not busy, and loves to tell stories and get to know his subordinates rather well. He is anything but lazy, usually up at the crack of dawn, he will work all day long, giving commands to his soldiers as to what needs to be done. To celebrate a good day of work, he is known to throw a lot of parties in the evening, giving his crew something to look forward to for motivation. On the battlefield, he is ruthless and loves seeing the blood of enemies fly. He can be quite serious at times as well, fully understanding the gravity of situations that call for a serious disposition, not humor. Overall, he can be a rather confusing man. Serious at times, while able to enjoy a good drink at others. Often, it seems as though he suffers from drastic mood swings.

History:
Little is known about his history, seeing as he prefers to keep it behind shrouds. When he was sixteen he joined the Revolutionary Army, and served Monkey D. Dragon as a commander. But due to conflicts of ideals, he left the revolutionary army and created his own crew, the Silver Pirates.

Other: Our main pirate ship is known as the "Seabreaker"

~Sign Ups~

Before I put the sign up form, I will go over a few things. Once again, you can use a Devil Fruit, but please refrain from using Logia fruit due to power issues. You can choose not to use a Devil Fruit if you wish, the One Piece world is pretty open and you could develop some interesting abilities on your own. Though please check with me if you're unsure about an ability. I'd PREFER you to be original and make up a fruit that hasn't been used in One Piece, but if you want to use one that has been used before, consult me first and I will let you know if it is okay.

ALL characters will start out with some basic understanding of how to use haki that may get stronger later as the rp progresses. You may choose not to have haki if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it.

You are roughly the rank of General in Kouu's Silver Pirates, and can have command over pirates beneath you. They can be your character's old crew if your character was formerly a pirate captain before joining Kouu. Once again, you can choose not to have anyone working under you. But the RP will start with our characters meeting and learning to interact with each other before receiving our first orders from Kouu.

Name: Can be anything. I don't care if it's English or Japanese.

Gender: Male? Female? Undisclosed? I really don't care.

Age:
Sixteen and up please.

Rank/Position: What is your rank in the Silver Pirates? You can be a General or lower. Also, what is your position? Are you the shipwright? Musician? Chef? Navigator? You don't have to have a listed position if you wish.

Devil Fruit:
What is the fruit's name, classification (zoan, logia, paramecia), and what can it do? Fruit names repeat, like "Chop Chop Fruit," Or "Gum Gum Fruit."

Fighting Style:
Self explanatory, how does your character fight in combat? Unique styles, abilities? Etc...

Appearance: What does your character look like? Physical attributes, clothing, eyes, oddities, etc... Please, at least a good six or seven lines. I want it good.

Personality: How does your character behave? What is his/her personality like? Explain this to me. A good six or seven lines at least, more is better.

History: This should be the longest, I want to know your character's past. Were they a bounty hunter? Marine? Pirate? Why do they hate Creed? How did Kouu find your character and recruit them? Good back story please. Eight lines plus, preferably more than ten if possible.

Other: Anything else you need to add?

RP Sample: Please provide a sample of your RP ability. Post it in spoiler tags if you could, if not that's fine. Please have it be at least two or three paragraphs, preferably with action and dialogue, but I'm not too picky if your sign up itself is good.

~Spots~

I'll only have one of each position, but you can be a character without a listed position if you'd like. You could just be a great fighter or tactician if you wish.

~Rules~

1.)No God Modding. I don't want to see anyone controlling and interacting with other characters in a way that that person would not want or like. No being over powered, etc...

2.)Keep post lengths long. I don't want to see three sentences... Please at least have two good sized paragraphs.

3).Stay active. I want to see people consistently posting. Being inactive REALLY pisses me off.

4).Keep interacting with other peoples' characters. It helps the plot progress and keep people interested. Running off by your self and doing things without other Rpers is boring.

5).Read all the posts! I don't want people making posts that are COMPLETELY out of context with what is going on... Make sure you're paying attention, or you might end up destroying the current plot.

Man, I thought this was a good idea. : /

This is what's killing you:

Most of the One Piece back story will be explained, though it will help to HAVE READ FOR THE MOST PART; UP TO THE LATEST CHAPTERS IN JAPAN. THERE WILL BE ONE PIECE PLOT SPOILERS, SO DON'T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT THE MANGA RUINED. Once again, PLEASE have good general knowledge of the show and characters.

Latest episode is Chapter 652 in the manga. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a lot of chapters. You're excluding everyone else except for the truly religious and devout followers of the manga... on a Pokemon forum. Then, even if they meet that extremely high expectation, they have to read the RP, be interested in it, AND have the time to RP in it. Look at how much you've shaved down your target audience.

Sorry, but when you bold AND underline that expectation, you're scaring the stuffing out of anyone that's reading it into thinking you want only the most avid and devoted followers of the manga to join this.

With that said, your idea may be great, but you're expecting too much. But aside from that, you might want to consider having an RP that's based in the One Piece universe, but doesn't directly follow or revolve around it's canon characters (if possible). Much like almost every Pokemon RP doesn't follow the journey of Ash and so on, they usually feature totally brand new characters, but in a familiar setting. This way, the setting is usually easy to describe and get people into, and you don't need to worry about spoilers so much.

I don't mean to politely disagree, but I do; I attempted this exact same RP once before, and the response was absolutely amazing. I think you're right about maybe not putting so much emphasis on that bold/underlined part, but ultimately I don't think I'll change the content of the RP.

One Piece is an incredibly rich and vibrant world that works because of the amazing characters and places; unlike some other things, I don't feel as though a One Piece RP could thrive unless information about the characters and world was provided.

I simply want people to be able to understand if some references are made to past events, but this is an original RP with new original characters for both our side and the enemy side, so for the most part, it shouldn't matter too much.

But I agree with the bolded part, and will take some emphasis off of it.

Also, a large issue is the fact that... Well, let us face it, this forum moves incredibly freaking slow; I've also done this RP in other RP forums that weren't strictly One Piece and the response was also quite good.

Thank you for the feedback!

...Hello?

It's been a long time. How is everyone.

Okay, I'll get to the point. It's been a ridiculously long period of time since I've been here, and I was only on to grab some information I had about an old RP... but darn it, I'm a sucker for Pirates, and One Piece in general. Expect a signup from me soon. Probably a researcher (sort of like Robin).

Okay, reservation going in for The Black Glove, can't do DVB's until you let me know if you want a specific position or not, or what.
