It's useful in the fact that you get to see what you are going to face if you want Ho-oh. Experimentation is always a wonderful thing, and you get to see how some of the teams function which helps you see what you need to do to beat them.

And it's called free time. This wasn't really hard to do.

This might prove useful, even though I don't play Colloseum nowadays. I did notice that the pokemon in Mt.Battle non-story mode were the same as the pokemon in Battle Now in some trainers.....
