Battle-scarred dragons. Worth it or not?

People claim that dragons are the hardest to train. Are they worth it or not? They might be strong, but one ice beam or an outrage would easily defeat it in one blow. Would they be worth it going through all that training just to be blown away in one move?

Eh, Dragons are decent. Things like Salamence and Flygon take a while to raise, but once they evolve completely, I expect you'll be satisfied. Weaker things like Dragonite and Altaria, though.....Dragonite's not exactly weak, but it's terribly hard and boring to raise, and you'll actually get more out of Salamence, who is stronger and faster. Altaria is OK on NetBattle, but there are better Dragon Types, and there are better Flying Types.

In short, it depends on which Dragon you're planning to raise Dx

There's no "bad" Dragon. Altaria is still pretty good, along with Kingdra. However, many take too long to raise - and I don't have that sort of patience. Heck, I can't be bothered to train to L100.

There needs to be a really sh*tty Dragon to annoy people. :p

The only dragon i've ever bothered to train was Kingdra, just because it was part water. I'm starting to train the Salamence i got off of xd. He's taking FOREVER!!! Any pointers on where to train more easily?

Sad to say that Kingdra is probably the only Dragon worth training. Their status are superior indeed, tch, but all evolved Dragons except Kingdra have a 2x weakness to ice due to their typing. If you're planning to use Dragons for link battles good strategies are out there. However, their double ice weakness makes them more vulnerable to OHKOs than most pokemon, and with ice moves themselves being one of the best weakness exploiters because so many types are weak to ice, the opponent is bound to have a pokemon with an ice move. With double weakness STAB doesn't even matter, the damage is simply too great.

Best Dragons to train would be Rayquaza, Salamence, Dragonite, and Kingdra. Best uses for a Dragon? Sweeper, though I don't know about Kingdra... Altaria is fast to raise, needs only 600000EXP. pts., Perish Song offers room for some strategy, Sky Attack though a 2-turn move is respectable, with high-criticality and a chance to flinch the opponent, also great self-healer.

Dragons take long to train but are worth it becasue they are strong. Thats why it takes so long because they are strong. Its the same thing with legendaries. I have a lv.81 dragonite. You can have good combos such as boltbeam which my dragonite knows. Bolt beam is when your pkmn knows ice beam and thunderbolt. Its a good combo because its only not very affective to like 5 pkmn.

Some dragons are better than others. My salamance that doesn't have egg moves is pretty bad, but I'm pretty proud of my dragonite. It's very versatile, with dragon claw, surf, flamethrower, and thunder (which makes it fun to kill kecleons). Plus, it has levitate, which is so nice in the desert area of Emerald or when it's paired with my tyranitar. I've been raising it for the lower-level Battle Frontier team, so it's become a strong fighter. You just have to train them well.

yes cause most dragons can just fly up and dodge then attack.

Salamence is definately worth training. Everyone should have a Salamence. Seriously. It's one of the best Pokemon of all time. The amount of time it takes to train one is no comparison to how much joy a good ol' fashioned DDmence will bring you. I don't really care about many other Dragon types. Dragonite is okay and Latios is a decent uber, but Salamence is the cream of the crop.

I like kingdra because he DONT become blown away by one ice beam. Or, well that depends on the pokemon that does the ice beam. But he dont have 4 x weakness against it.
DRAGONS RULES!!!
That doesnt goes for all dragon pokemons.
