Battle Stadium D.O.N

Since you're using your own console, you won't need any other kind of mem. cards other than your own. I've been able to save Japanese save files on my PlayStation 2 US memory card.

The memory cards aren't really region locked or anything. :p

Also, D.O.N. is pretty much JUST Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto (hence the title D.O.N.). It's similar to Jump Superstars, but not all entirely. The game'll be available for the Cube and PS2. :x

Confirmed Characters

Dragon Ball - Son Goku, Son Gohan (Cell Saga), Piccolo, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Freeza (True Form)
One Piece - Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Tony Tony Chopper
Naruto - Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Rock Lee, Gaara

We also get a new song from Hironobu Kageyama, paired up with Hiroshi Kitadani, singer of the first One Piece theme known as "We Are."

Anyone else see the trailer? Wow... it looks like it'll be a blast to play, although the characters look kinda weird. Seems like Cel-shading would work better, but for all I know, it could be CS, and the video quality was so crappy.

The proper phrase is "JP" or "Japanese." None of this "Jap" nonsense.

And there's only a Japanese release scheduled. All three properties are licensed by several different people.

Sorry about the the thing I said earlier I forgot what the Abbreviation for Japanese was so I just typed that. Anyway back on topic, I wish they would bring the game to US. I know there are a bunch of different companies but still.

Uh, the One Piece games are made/published by Bandai, not Atari.

Anyway, I have Jump Superstars, so this game seems interesting to me as well. This game probably has a higher chance of coming here than Jump Superstars, but I doubt it will. I guess I'll just have to import it.

And I think that, since I hear it's very popular over there, they should've also added Bleach characters into this, but I've heard that they just chose Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto because D.O.N. is a pun on a Japanese sound effect ("don") found in some manga.

Sorry for the mistake. :p

The primary reason they chose Dragon Ball, Naruto and One Piece is because those are the top rated manga and anime of Japan in terms of shonen series'. Not to mention, two of the three were primarily inspired through Toriyama's work of Dragon Ball.

Bleach's characters wouldn't exactly fit in the same style of that for Battle Stadium D.O.N. as it's primarily hand-to-hand combat styles, whereas most of the characters of Bleach rely on their Zanpakuto (the Shinigami, anyways). :p

Uh, no it's not. The reason the game's titled D.O.N. is because it's Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto ONLY. Not to mention, HxH isn't among the same levels of popularity that the mentioned three are at. That and it doesn't really have much of a connection with being inspired by Toriyama's work.

Hunter x Hunter is currently #4 on the Current Top Selling Shonen Titles, along with #4 of all time, ABOVE Naruto. And they didn't HAVE to make it just One Piece, Dragonball, and Naruto. Plus, Hunter x Hunter, along with almost all fighting shonen today, can be somehow considered isnpired by Toriyama's work in some way. Plus, there are a ton of great HxH characters that could bring alot to the game.

They didn't have to but they did. The point of the game was to only have those three series' in the game. If you don't like it, then play Jump Superstars and wait for the sequel.

And as I said, it's fandom is NOWHERE close to that of Dragon Ball, Naruto or One Piece. Especially not OP and DB.

Uh, no. HxH is extremely popular in Japan. So much so that Togashi actually gets more leeway when it comes to vacations due to the popularity of Yu Yu Hakusho and HxH (as stated in one of the earlier HxH volumes). You probably have never even been to Japan, since you seem to think HxH isn't popular, despite it being one of the highest selling of all time.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the reason Naruto, DBZ and One Piece are in this game is because all 3 anime have games published by Bandai, unlike Hunter x Hunter. =s

Oh...and no, Naruto has sold more than Hunter x Hunter. The top 5 best selling SJ manga of all time are Dragon Ball, Kochikame, Slam Dunk, One Piece and Naruto.

Seriously, just because you like HxH doesn't mean you're automatically right about it doing better. And as mentioned above, Bandai is the one who publishes the DB, OP and Naruto games in Japan.
