What is the extent to Bewear's prowess, seriously. Even Mimikyu got frightened (which isn't the first time, too). What is up with TR's Mimikyu and Bewear being the powerhouses they are this series. Seeing the thing go toe to toe with Buzzwole was already a wonder because Buzzwole is a brute itself. Pheramosa is strong too, not in a brute way, but is more about that speed. I can understand Bewear's strength, it's a special trait of its line, but being able to move fast, track speed, and be fast enough to dodge it is kind of ridiculous. Like, this thing can probably solo Ash's whole Alola team + Kukai's Incineroar (weird combination, I know). Can probably beat a guardian deity, too.
I also get slightly triggered everytime I see any non-legendary Pokemon outmatch Pikachu when its specifically using Quick Attack. Not only is Pikachu suppose to be one of Ash's strongest Pokemon of all time, but it has traveled with him through multiple regions, fought and beaten legendaries among other strong Pokemon, and has been using Quick Attack for many generations. Pikachu is suppose to be about that speed, something they love reiterating when its fought different Raichu. Naturally the faster Pikachu becomes, the faster its Quick Attack should as well. By experience alone it should be up there with a base Extremespeed, since moves get stronger so long as the Pokemon does. I still remember when Pikachu HAD to use QA to match a wild Mincino's base running speed. There have been various other instances every single series like this when Pokemon have been able to effectively dodge it without the use of any actual moves. Trip's Superior and Korrina's (and Cameron's) Lucario (among still-many others) also did this by simply moving. It's an insult to Pikachu and its experience, especially heavily implying that Pikachu isn't fast whatsoever without the QA. It's only fast whenever plot demands it, like the Raichu episodes. I can give Phermosa a pass because it was established early on that it's just fast like that, but there are instances outside this where it's been ridiculous how easy they make it look for non-amateurs mons and non-slower-based mons to dodge it. I don't mind Pokemon being able to dodge it, it's the execution that bothers me: being able to dodge despite having no MU experience with Pikachu, dodging it without a move when you're not that fast and/or if Pikachu has has enough reasonable experience to match what would usually be a faster mon (Mincino imo), etc. Weird complaint? Maybe. Valid complaint? Yes.
Don't have a rating for this episode, but it's not my favorite UG episode.
