Hey, I was wondering what your opinions of the games are. I am going to buy FR or LG soon and I would like to know if I should get one or the other. Which game has the more Pokemon to catch? Are they good ones? Thanks!

If you have Ruby/Sapphire, FireRed is a much better option. You'll get less repeats and more new Pokémon.

If you're planning on getting Pokémon XD for Game Cube, LeafGreen is best, for it has the ONLY Version-Exclussive Pokémon of this Generation: Slowpoke and Evos.

I have tested them both out, and I liked the selection in Leaf Green more. However, it depends on what your tastes are.

I have fire red and I wish i had access to a leaf green... **grrr@ bellsprout and slowpoke for being on it and not fire red.**
check the main site pokedex for your favorite pokemon and see which versions they are in and choose from that

I have both games, but personnally prefer Leaf-Green, purely because I didn't get to play a 'Green' game the first time round... It's up to you - but I recommend getting both games, just to be able to say you have them!

I like Fire Red more but I think that Leaf Green should be better because of some pokemons that you can't catch in other games except LG.

acually LG has more new pokemon....Azurill and Wnuaght FR only has Wynuaght

And LG is much better.There are better pokemon and its just better

Yeah that's why I bought LG...I personally prefer LG because it has slowpoke, my esintial breeder for curselax

Um.. no. Read my post well. I said that if he/she is planning on getting XD, then LeafGreen is a better option because it has the Slowpoke family. The ONLY Pokémon they won't be able to get in XD, besides the Kanto Starters and the Fossils.

Then I said that if he/she had RS, then FireRed was a much better option because it had more Pokémon you can't get in Ruby or Sapphire. Want proof?

For me I prefer FireRed, the pokemon only available in FR are better than pokemon only available in Leafgreen. I like Arcanine and Scizor which are only available in FR.

I started with Fire Red only because charizard is the main pokemon there.

It depends on your taste. I've always said to myself that if I was going to but Fire Red or Leaf Green, I would buy Leaf Green because of the Pokemon selection. Now I finally bought one version and it was Fire Red. I just thought about it and while Leaf Green has more Pokemon I like slightly better than the Fire Red exclusives, the Fire Red exclusives like Arcanine, Scizor and Quagsire are all much better to my liking than all the Leaf Green exclusives, so I decided to pick Fire Red.

You should just check out what the exclusives for each version are. In terms of quality, it doesn't matter at all. Despite a few Pokemon, the games are exactly the same. You could say Leaf Green would be better if you like to complete the PokeDex as far as possible, since you can get more Pokemon in Leaf Green than in Fire Red overall, but the difference is SO small, it doesn't really matter at all.
