Okay, since I don't see a thread made.

The start of the Kanto Grand Festival.

I just remembered that this episode will air in 2 weeks. Forgot about baseball!

My guess: more Furaigon abuse. That thing's been everywhere latley, and it's just gonna keep popping up. Not quite Gonbe yet, but you know what happens when someone gets a new Pokemon. >__>

No, Squirtle will just hog spotlight, thereby pissing off Yamato San making him want to snipe it with a rifle.

I'm only hoping this GF isn't going to be an exact copy of the last one (unless a Pokemon evolves )

Ohh, right, almost forgot about lil' Zenigame. It has way more haters than just Yamato-san.

And as for copying the old GF - I'm pretty sure that'll be the case. To me, the Houen League looked like a pretty bad ripoff of the Kantou League. They had the Chairman, Satoshi having to fight against his best friend (although this time it was Masamune breaking down), and the works. This GF will most likley be just another bleh, seen-it-before competition. *sounds jaded*

I'm assuming this episode will just be for character interaction and the appeals. I just hope they do both sets of appeals in this episode. In Hoenn, they saved the second appeals for the second episode.

Yeah, well I don't really mind character interaction at all. Sometimes it's actually really interesting, but I'm likely to fall asleep if it's just more Haarii/Shuu/Haruka stuff.

Well at the least, we know that they're not going to repeat what they did with Harley in the first GF.

Harley doesn't/can't pretend to be May's friend anymore. He didn't do that in either the Modama Contest or the Jessie Contest. Since he didn't do that the previous two times they met, they're not going to do it this time either.

I don't know what they'll do with Drew though. Maybe a repeat of Drew trying to figure out what Harley's "master plan" is again, other than that, who knows.

I hope Wakana's there. I know it's unlikely, but... she's just so cute!

Actually, there are a few reasons why it'd make sense for her to show up:

1. They've got to spice up the character interactions this time around somehow.

2. Wakana's a Drew fanatic with major stalking tendencies. It would be practically OOC for her not to be there.

3. She already has a link to both May and Drew. All of the other oneshots from the past were only linked to May, except for Robert (playing fast and loose with the word 'oneshot' in his case), who is only linked to Drew. That arguably makes Wakana better integrated into the contest plot than any other contest opponent who's come before her (Harley not included, needless to say). Furthermore, she's also been made a part of a long-running plotline (Contestshipping) that is highly likely to get some screentime in the Grand Festival.

I hope the first episode gets all the appeals out of the way, and that Eevee gets to do at least one appeal. I also hope that Skitty, Bulabasaur and Beautifly (as well as Norman and Caroline) return. The character interaction between Harley and Drew will be the most interesting part unless Wakana shows up.
BTW, how many double battles can fit into two episodes? About four? 'Cause that could be enough to get May to the Top 4 depending on how many competitors there are this time.

what exactly is May hoping to do with Eevee and Munchlax? neither one of them can make "dazzling appeals" cos all their attacks (apart from shadowball and metronome/hyper beam) are physical. she needs beautifly and bulbasaur. im fed up of Drew and Harley. theyre so boring now. unless they both have a new Pokemon, i want them to be finished with quickly. otherwise, introduce a new character who actually does something and has a whole team of Pokemon to show off (obviously not being alowed to use them all)

Someone who could understand Japanese translated a bit of the Saffron Contest, and May said she's sticking with her current team no matter what. Now I very much doubt she'll use her old Pokes.

Anyway, I'd love to see Eevee do an appeal. It's never done one before, and it can probably do something cool with Shadow Ball.

Well, we still have next weeks episode and May is captured by a Giant Slaking and an Aipom does steal one of her ribbons so, not saying it will or even that I want it, she could capture ether one of them. A Giant Slaking would go well on Norman's team and after they leave Kanto that'd most likely be where it goes. Seeing a Giant Ape was appealing to the poeple in the movie "King Kong."

I'm sure that the writers and animators could have them pull of decent appeals if they wanted to... just wait and see.

From what I can see, from the Munchlax versus Octillery episode, Munchlax knows: Tackle, Focus Punch, Metronome, and Solarbeam. Munchlax could make a good appeal. Half it's moves are special, half are physical.

Plus, Eevee could do something with Shadow Ball. Like foreing it into the air, and making it explode. ^^
