Beginner Spriter

Yeah, I decided to start spriting. Although I don't have the hang of it yet, I enjoy doing it when I'm bored. I'm having a lot of trouble with my shading, so any advice is greatley appreciated. And my stupid computer can only save as .BMP and .JPG, so they look even worse than they should.

I don't mind critisizm, as long as it's constructive.

Well I'm not sure about the revamps, but I heard that your supposed to white all the colors out, and reshade it yourself. Otherwise, it's just a recolor >.< The recolors are probably good, but sicne it's saved as jpg, it looks a little off...

Really? I knew I was doing something wrong. Meh, I'll redo them when I become more experienced. And thanks for the compliments on the Recolours.

The sprites are quite good, keep up the good work.

The colors are fine, although you should try to get in more shades (even though they aren't there already) and highlights. And most importantly-- DON'T use all black outlines. Or all color outlines. You can see this on FireRed/Ruby/Emerald sprites. So follow the yellow brick road! Er, I mean the original outlining xD

And for the recolors, same thing with the outlining. That's qhy you should reuse other pokemon's colors so you can fix the outlines.

Thanks for the advice. I tried to add a bit of shading to the Sunflora, Omastar and Victreebel sprites, but it turned out kinda funky. Like I said before, I'll re-do them when I get a little better.

Anyways, here are my first mixes. Very basic and scratchy, but I'll get better. Yet again, I'm forced to save tem as JPG. *shoots computer*

Recolors aren't too bad, but the revamps......

They are pretty good, but they need to be even further improved, how do I say this? It's not so much the shading, you need better coloring on them, the Sunflora is pretty good though! Keep practicing, you're pretty good for a beginner!

Your Re-Vamps are okay...but my god, that Sunflora. I just want to hug it! 0_0

And I love the Clampearl/Spoink Mix...very nicely done and just overall works well together. I say this far too much, but I see potential in you.

Thanks ^_^ I've had quite a frew compliments on the Sunflora. The Chinchou/Spoink is my favourite of the mixes, too. They'd all look much better if I could save them as .png (or is it .gif you're supposed to save them as? I never can remember >_<)

They're good, I like the Sunflora and the Victreebel. I would probably believe that the Cacturne recolour is a shiny!
Also, mabye you could turn the ring on the Weezing revamp yellowish?

OK, I turned the ring yellowish. I think it turned out a bit odd.

I'm now accepting suggestions for Recolours. But I can't make any guaruntees I'll do all of them.

No, just the ones I like. They take a fair amount of time to do, so it would take me quite a while to do them all.

Uhm.... I don't reallly know what a revamp is so I can't say anything... I like the recolours, though... I only came here 'cuz you invited us all at the TM thread and 'cuz you checked my fic (still thankfull for that!! *hugs FF*) Please explain me what a revamp is suposed to be and I'll tell you if it's okay.

Oh, and your shade it's not so bad. I know someone that don't even shades, in fact *giggles at 'someone'* This is very good by now, don't get down or dissapointed! Another authors (me, as a example...) know how it feels and it's not good. Always try to feel satisfied with your works. if these are bad, they're at least a leson of what you shouldn't do again *sweatdrops* Au revoir, be lucky with this

A revamp is getting an old sprite and making it look like an advanced sprite. All of mine are G/S sprites.

New Revamps. I'm REALLY happy with Butterfree. And before I'm accused of theft, I know a lot of people have revamped this Butterfree.
