Well out of all the dbz fights I really do think that Goku vs Kid buu was the best. It had good combat and the way goku used the spirit bomb to defeat kid buu was just.... awesome.

It was better and more concise in the manga imo, but even then it didn't quite escape the boundaries of "That average DB final fight." Toei did manage to try to make it seem like the best fight ever in the series, but they ****ed up on more than one occasion. Some of the Vegeta vs. ChiBuu parts added onto the anime erroneously were tough to sit through...

Hope they fix that in Kai, however late it is (And the op/ed songs!).

That was one of those things that I felt added on to Vegeta's pride being hurt until Goku lets him have it that everyone's dead.

Yeah, the whole Vegeta's pride thing added onto the anime was surprisingly decent, but it paid the price of making you equally slack-jawed over how the heck the same SS2 Vegeta who died against the fat Buu could possibly survive a fight with the absolute strongest Buu who absorbed Ultimate Gohan and more than doubled his power.

True, but at the same time, it helped make Vegeta's character, as it was in the Boo arc, shine through, disregarding the extreme contrast in Vegeta's and Boo's level of power. Considering that he wanted to take Goku's place and defend the Earth, thereby sacrificing himself, only to fail, it would make sense that Vegeta, still with his Saiyan pride, would ignore Goku and finish the job that he wanted to do, and also ignore how strong Boo was at the time. Then when confronted with the fact that he had absolutely no chance of winning, Vegeta remained that much more stubborn, until Goku laid it down thick.

The same could more or less be applied to the humans and Piccolo trying to help Gohan out which sort of ruins the surprise in Vegeta distracting Cell in the end (considering, there's no other logical explanation as to how the heck an injured Vegeta can make the SS2-level Cell flinch with a blast),

You could make the case that as Vegeta fired the surprise attack, Cell was just at the verge of victory. Perhaps Cell was too focused that he was going to win over SSJ2 Gohan at the very end that he poured all of his power into ending it (evidenced by the Cell's end of the wave almost overlapping Gohan's), that he ignored his surroundings, and as a result, was completely caught off-guard.

Poor reason is poor, yeah, but it's something that would make the anime version work.

Yeah, but look at when Vegeta more or less tried the same thing against Freeza. Freeza had transformed and only increased his power to between two and three times Vegeta's strength (Vegeta matched near-evenly with Freeza's first displayed form), and a full-power blast to the back while Freeza was occupied with beating Gohan up did... nothing. =/

I get your reasoning behind the other stuff, though.

Also quite irrelevant, but is the average weight for an American literally over 250 lbs?! That's... like, over 110 kilograms, more than a tenth of a ton. o_O

(I weigh 83-4 kilos, btw)

We really don't have definite statistical values for Vegeta's SSJ2 level of strength or Gohan-absorbed Boo's power level, or how fast either of the two are (since speed and strength are two completely different aspects). And then, Boo's power may have been so high that it may have seen no reason to use all of its power in order to dominate the match. And if we go with the latter, that would only exacerbate the situation Vegeta was in, angering him further, and making the fusion that much more vital.

My signature is meant as a jab at the current mindset the U.S has now, and what will happen if it is to continue. But since it's a perception of "The world in 2029," we fortunately have two solid decades to hopefully turn pre-existing ideas around.

Well, I wasn't quite touching up the Buu-with-Gohan part, but rather how Vegeta stunned Cell, since... uh, it's painfully obvious that if any form of Buu pisses on Vegeta, it will shock him into spitting his guts out in a splurge of blood (much less the one that ate his good counterpart, increasing his power from being far below SS1 Gotenks to nearly matching his SS3 form with training in the RoSaT, after which he absorbed a Gohan who nailed his ass to the ground frivolously), but yeah, things like that can happen, just look at how Goku without his Kaioken managed to survive an angry headbutt from the half-power Freeza who blocked his Kamehameha aided by the 20-fold Kaioken. But that doesn't necessarily mean that stuff suddenly makes sense, lol. Plot conveniences happen. Just look at how easily Kuririn and Chaozu were killed by Piccolo and even his weakest children, and then how Kuririn survives basically everything up to the end of the Freeza arc (the infamous dub-quote: "POP GOEZ THE WEEZIL LOLOLOL"), and how he manages to outlast the Cell arc and such.
