Gold/Silver. They had all the greatest gameplay attributes. They had time, day/night, radio, appricorns, and the most innotive pokemon. I really don't care about the graphics. It's the gameplay that matters.

Emerald comes in a strong second. The Battle Fronteer was actually challenging.

Although Super Smash Brothers Melee is the second best game ever, after Zelda: OoT, I still voted Crystal because I don't think SSB is a Pokémon game.
I have made many long posts about why Crystal is better than all other games, but to summeries:
1. Johto had many legends and history
2. Skarmory, Blissey, Tyranitar, Wobbuffet, Raikou, Suicune, Lugia
3. Two regions
4. Battle with former protogonist
5. First Battle Tower appearence
6. Nearly all Pokémon were catchable without trading
7. Day and night
8. Introduction of many things, including genders and shinies

It's a close call for me between Crystal, Emerald, and XD/Colosseum. But, in the end, the Metal Generation had one too many flaws, despite how fun they were to me(thank you Orion for showing me that, too xD). Emerald was an amazing game without a doubt, but XD and Colosseum deviated from the normal GBA games a lot, so I'd have to say those.

I'd have to say Emerald, but Crystal goes down as one of my all-time favorites.

Back I guess??
Where´s Pokémon Stadium 2? (AKA PS2 :D)

It´s my favorite game I have and it´s by far, better than Colosseum. XD has a chance to be better, because of lot of stuff it has, but I still think Stadium 2 Much better, battles there are much less boring, even if there´s a Blissey with multiple Double teams and the other trainer with Shuckle.

Since PS2 isn´t in the list, I´ll vote Emerald.
It´s TEH Pokémon Game. I never stop playing and I already get every Gold Symbols.

Pure

back.
The best is clearly Crystal for the reasons stated above. However, Emerald comes in a close second and then FR/LG. The Gamecube games aren't that good yet.

I like Gold and Silver the most because it's introduced all that new stuff and had awesome pokemon. I hope they make a remake of Gold and Silver like they did with Fire Red and Leaf Green.

It's hard to decide, but I played R/B for the longest time and with the biggest enthusiasm when I was a little child. All other games were good too, the second and third places go to Crystal and Emerald.

Definetly going with emerald. Nice graphics, more features, more pokemon. Nice, real nice.

Emerald is the best game to date, even though R/B/Y/ could be considered better when they came out and pokemon was a new concept.

I live to serve, pal. :D

Um... Emerald please and thank you. The ONLY Special Version worth the buy, and the best Replay Value ever. It could have been better, but it's as good as it gets. An unified RS storyline (The best plot ever as far as Pokémon goes besides Colosseum/XD.), several extras when compared with its predecesors (And certainly MUCH more when compared with the previous Generations...) and the ultimate battling experience. Want more?

It's still amusing to see the overration of GSC to this day, though. D=

I voted Emerald but I saw smash bros. right after >_>. Oh well it isn't a pokemon game. Emerald was excellent because it is R/S (which kicked *** already) with the battle frontier.
