I r gud riter.
Title sounds weird, but what I meant is what's your favorite pokemon that is unappreciated and underused, although it is still a semi-decent pokemon.

I've probably forgot a lot here, and since it is a poll there is only a maximum of 10 options, so don't flame me or anything if I forgot one pokemon you want to be up there. There is an option marked other for a reason.

Machamp, plain and simple. Decent STAB, huge attack stat, decent HP nd not too bad defenses, an evil Cross Chop and some other decent physical moves. Then why do people find it crap?

And I'm NOT saying that purely for bias. Seriously, it's a monster. We all know the only reason Heracross is better is because of a strong Bug attack and STAB, decent speed and more resistances.

Other obviously, although Rhydon and Ursaring are in similar predicaments. Heck, I see Ursaring as the Normal type version of Machamp.

Oops, as soon as I saw your name as the one having posted on this thread I knew I'd forgot to put Machamp.

Yeah, I don't understand why some people hate these sort of pokemon. They're powerful, yet are not used that much. Machamp has the same base attack stat as Ho-Oh and a STAB Focus Punch, something only Breloom and Machamp also get IIRC, which hurts even Weezing badly. Barely anything can switch into a CB Focus Punch from that thing if it's poisoned.

Heh. I'm getting seriously well known for being a Machamp fan. I think people think that pure Fighters are crap or something.

I do agree about Jumpluff as well despite not voting for it - it's so damn fast it's insane. I remember one I had in Silver took down Clair's Kingdra without taking any damage because of Leech Seed and flinching due to Headbutt (seriously, ingame, Headbutt Jumpluff rules).

I don't even hear much mention of Breloom these days - the only fighter I know of that's used a lot is Heracross.

Don't forget Furret. Great Pokemon, Great Movepool. Octillery is also a good one.

Breloom was used quite a lot some time ago, but now people are just blabbering over Heracross now, just because of some more special defense and a Bug type STAB.

Sorry Ohtachi, yet Furret is an unappreciated pokemon but it can't be classified as being able to be played in OU battles and the sort and actually a good pokemon despite the fact it's unappreciated. It has a good movepool, but I mean pokemon like Machamp and Rhydon that are unused but are actually very good pokemon.

I don't actually competitive battle, but IIRC Megahorn's kinda inaccurate at times isn't it? I remember one I had years ago that kept missing.

I still stand by Machamp though of course, because I'm biased (partly).

Yeah, Megahorn is inaccurate, but it's the best bug move there is since there is no 95 power 100 accuracy bug move.

Aggron. Great defense and above average attack. I have one in my Ruby roster.

Tauros
It has beyond decent attack stat, 100 base attack.
It has good defenses and brilliant speed.
Its Special Attack is well, wrong, but it still does good.
It does have a small movepool but is still usable.
It is a god imho.
If you hadnt put in other, though, I would have voted pinsir. Though that is more underappreciated by the games makers

Pinsir. The End.

I don't wanna bring a massive rant again, but eh... who cares if Heracross is better? Pinsir can do almost as much, but has been shafted in the simple fact that it doesn't gets a Bug Move bar Hidden Power Bug. Plus, while STAB is juicy, Heracross Type combination provides a huge 4x Weakness to Flying. And even if it provides many resistances... bleah. At least Pinsir can withstand one Aerial Ace and such.

Pinsir's only saving grace is the looks. And heck, he puts Heracross to sheer shame, at least in my opinion. I'd rather have the outcast pimp that is angry and can kick butt to the boring altruist that is obviously better so it can show off its Gary Stu-ism all over the world. The bigger gripe would be Scyther, though. Is much more pathetic, yet gets much more attention... downright sad.

Oh well. Good thing I avoid elitism like the plague. :)

hey dragonite ain't unappreciated. hey idunno their are good choices up their i say it is a tie for me between aggrown, pinsir and rhydon

To me it's Agron who is the best out of the ones mentioned.

Other, I believe Smeargle is a very unappreciated pokemon, yet they are actually awesome.

Well it is sort of considering people tend to use salamence over it.

Anyway I think dragonite really is unappreciated and underrated. It has so much variety and is really an unexpecting pokemon. It can also withstand some non-STABbed Ice beams which is pretty amazing considering it has a 4x weakness to them. It can be used as a DDer, CBer, Mixed sweeper, beller, boltbeamer and is just a generally good pokemon to use.

Machamp is pretty class too.

Hariyama, just 'cause my OTE had one.

But I like Corsola more than any of 'em.

Well, I don't do competitive battle, but I've used a few of the ones on the poll. And one of the best IMO is Quagsire. I used one in Collosseum, and it was really good.

Hariyama. Seriously. Hariyama is a bloody beast, really. Base 144 HP? Yes please. Along with Base 120 Attack, which is WELL above average, Hariyama's got the power to stay and kill. Hariyama's movepool is also Grade A material. Pretty much every Physical move you could ever want. BUT, on top of that, Hariyama also gets Knock Off and Whirlwind. Both of those moves are awesome in standard play, and Hariyama gets them. Tell me it's not cool to have a Pokémon that can knock the Leftovers off a Blissey and OHKO it right afterward with a STAB Focus Punch. Is there really anything more you could ask for with this titan?

Hariyama's neglected in this Poll, too. I'm the first to vote for him, for one thing. And, when Deathskully went on about STAB Focus Punches, he didn't even mention Hariyama. I seriously fail to understand why Hariyama isn't used more. I, for one, find a Pokémon that can mercilessly kill while simultaneously being a pain in the arse to take down incredibly cool.

Blissey's a nuisance to defeat, but it lacks the offense to do any really damage. Same for Skarmory. But Hariyama, with its enormous Base HP and two weaknesses, resists Attacks from BOTH sides of the Attack Spectrum, and it deals back damage with a Base 120 Attack.

And that's not even mentioning Counter, which is just too bloody good on Hariyama with that titanic Base HP. And Guts. Really, as if Hariyama wasn't enough of a butcher with its other statistics, they went and pumped it up with Guts. So, let's think. Base 120 Attack + STAB + 4 different weaknesses to Fghting(Ice, Rock, Steel, Dark) + Guts + CB = Kill, absolute kill. Barely anything is going to live through that.

Thick Fat is also a great option on Hariyama. While you won't get that boost to Attack from Guts, it cerainly makes Hariyama a nuisance to kill(as if it weren't already). This beast just wins on so many levels that I have to marvel at the fact that I never see it in OU.

Heracross has that nice Bug STAB, yeah, but it doesn't have the durability of Hariyama(Heracross, BTW, having only 5 more Base Attack than Hariyama ;)). Heracross certainly can live through attacks(I've yet to OHKO a Heracross with an unboosted Psychic from my Celebi on NB), but Hariyama is difficult to kill on a totally different level.
