Swampert is the best for type-matching. It gets a Ground-type, so it's weakness to Electric is nulled. On the other hand, it's weakness to Grass is doubled, but a good Ice attack will take care of that. At least, that's what I do with my Swampert...

The strongest is Swampert. No arguments. Blastoise cannot compare to Swampert in any way at all. It supports, it doesn't fight. Feralgiatr can be strong, but it needs set up and a bit of luck. Swampert is good whenever with whatever.

However, though I do find Swampert to be a capable battler and a cool Pokémon in general, I like Feraligatr best. And I'm not saying that to make SapphireL happy, either(well, partly ;P). It's an alligator, how cool is that? =D It also has a very smooth design, as well as a beautiful Shining form. Give it a chance to Swords Dance and it can sweep an entire Team with an above average Base Attack Stat =]

Blastoise....Meh. Could be better, coould be worse.

I prefer Swampert over the others. It's the only Water starter with a Dual type. And Muddy Water and Mud Shot, two of my favorite ground attacks. Feraligatr, on the other hand, has amazing attack and with Swords Dance and a good physical attack will bring an end to any weak team. But I myself, hate Blastiose. I never use it. But it's still a good Surfer+Rain Dance Thunder Combo user. So you can't beat that.

(I may put one "=" betwen blastoise and swampert, but sometimes I think swampert cool looking)

I tried Swampert out once on my emerald just to see how he fairs- didn't like him very much at all. I can't say I've used Feraligetor as of yet so I can't judge him.
Blastoise- By far.

I LOVE Blastoise and Swampert as well... but they can't match up to Feraligatr for me. ^_^;
