I have these pokemon @ Lvl 50 (with all EVs set) that I want to raise to level 100. Obviously there are two easy ways, go thru the Elite 4 or use pick-up teams, and since I have no experience I thought I'd ask you guys which way is personally quicker for you and which one I should use.

I have no idea how long using a pick-up team to colllect candies would take so all help is greatly appreciated :)

Rare Candies (After you EV Train)

EDIT: OH about pick-up I believe the Pokemon has to be on Lvl 100.

i like beating people in secret bases. level 100 ubers give more EXP than level 50 random E4 pokes. though E4 > rare candies, because it's less annoying. you don't have to check your pokes for picked-up items after every battle.

ocean glitch works well, too, if you happen to have an extra game/gameboy you don't mind accruing mad hours on.

also, if you're using emerald, rare candies don't get any more common after level 41. it's just the rare items that get better.

I'd say a mixture, get a lv. 100 zigzagoon or somone who knows the pick-up abillity. After beating a elite four member, check for a rare candy, rinse and repeat for as long as you want my friend!

Thanks for all the help guys, can somebody explain how eaxctly to use the pick-up, as in

-What are the chances a pokemon picks up an item after a battle
-Will the pick-up work on weak wild pokemon
-Must you faint the wild pokemon to pick up an item or can you just run away
-Roughly how many game hours does it take to collect 50 rare candies?

Thanks in advance

Secret base with them all having good, strong pokemon, and using exp. share on pokemon that Im going to raise and everyday I try to go through as many strong trainers as I can. I have about 14 of them with all different levels of pokemon, but all good for what im training. I have many lv100 to switch out if anything goes wrong so yeah. If im lucky I might have pokerus. But ive only has that once and I was a poken00b then and I had no idea what it did and it wore away :(

Elite 4 and the reporters are the easiest and funnest way, rare candies don't make them as strong!

Both ways take up a LOT of time, and I mean A LOT! So much time, that I wish you had XD to cut up some of the time that's used up when trying to make a Pokemon Level 100... But the pick-up trick takes up more time than training in the E4, but even training in the E4 makes you want to dedicate either one entire day, or even an entire week, just to make a pokemon level 100. It depends on how much EXP. it takes to make the Pokemon a level 100 one, and that depends on its growth rate...

For more information on determining how much experience your pokemon needs and what pokemon you should defeat, check this link:

Experience your pokemon needs

... and remember these formulas:

Base Exp. = Math_Ceiling((Exp.Given * 7)/ R / T / L)

Exp. Given = Math_Floor((Base Exp. * L)* R * T / 7)

Key:
R = 1 if battling wild pokemon; 1.5 if battling Trainer
T = 1 if you are the pokemon's OT; 1.5 if you got it's traded and OT ID doesn't match your ID
Level = Losing(Fainted) pokemon's level

Remember the above info. if you want to train your pokemon faster, because the more information you know about how much experience a pokemon gives you when they faint, the faster the pokemon will get to level 100... Now thank you, and have a good night...

- 10% for each pokemon. if you have multiple pokes with pickup, they're calculated separately. one can pick something up while another doesn't.
- yes. pickup works after any battle, no matter who you fought.
- you have to KO.
- it depends. but i think it's faster to give the weak pokemon to beat the E4 than to pick up an equivalent amount of rare candies. unless you're training one of the pokemon that needs 1,640,000 EXP to get to 100.

Never cheat. (The post title was "I have an Action Replay...")
It screws up your game, and there are much easier and more honsest ways to do stuff. Besides, when you cheat you don't get any gratification that you acomplished something. =/

funnest isn't a word...

Anyway, I ride all around Routes 117 and 118, talking to all the trainers along the way. It's like the best way IMO. I've gotten all my good pokemon to high levels doing that.

As someone posted before rare candies do not raise your pokemon stats as much as battling does so i would recommend E4, Daycare, and Secret Base Trainers.
