Hi Everyone. I have been a fan of Pokemon for nearly my entire life with the anime being largely responsible for it. One thing that always bothered me was how much Wasted potential Best Wishes seemed like, which is why I am writing down my own version of Best Wishes. This will follow some points from the Anime and also largely maintains the Pokemon the main cast members got, with a few key changes. Mostly additions. So here is Chapter 1/ Episode 1:
Episode 1: An Electric Beginning
Ash reaches Unova along with Delia and Prof.Oak to meet Professor Juniper. On the way there, Ash encounters a passing cloud of storm, containing the Legendary pokemon Zekrom. Zekrom causes a massive thunder attack, which hits Pikachu leaving Pikachu ill. They reach professor Junipers Lab who treats Pikachu, who gets better but is unable to use any electric attacks and has become considerably slower. Professor Juniper asks Ash to stay so that she can examine Pikachu in order to find out why its unable to use its Electricity.
The next day a young girl names Hilda, a bumbling girl Bianca, and a very serious looking boy Cheren, all native to Nuvema town arrive at Prof. Junipers lab for their starter pokemon. Meanwhile in the backyard of the lab, the three starter Pokémon that were supposed to be given to the trainers start to fight amongst themselves. the professor introduces herself to the 3 trainers and asks them to come with her to the backyard. Ash and Pikachu arrive from inside the lab looking for the professor and bumps into the 3 trainers. Ash and Pikachu see the Quarrelling Pokémon and Pikachu rushes to sop them. Bianca Exclaims at how quickly and bravely Pikachu jumped in. However, it fails to use its electric attacks and the 3 Pokémon ambush it and send it flying into Ash’s arms. Finally, the professor sends out her Foongus and uses sweet scent and manages to calm down the 3 Pokémon. She introduces the 3 Pokémon to the trainers as Tepig, Oshawott and Snivy.
Ash notices a fourth Pokémon, another Oshawatt hiding near the lab, looking at the three trainers. Ash asks Prof. Juniper about Oshawott and the Professor tell him that multiple trainers have refused to take up this Oshawatt because of its nature. She says that trainers often mistake its cheery nature for weakness and have so far not chosen it so she just raises oshawott on her own. Cheren chooses the other Oshawatt, Hilda chooses Snivy and Bianca chooses Tepig. Cheren’s Oshawott smirks at Juniper’s Oshwott on being chosen. Pikachu notices this and grunts at Cheren’s Oshawott hinting it wants to battle it. As Ash challenges Cheren, Cheren states that battling a Pikachu who can’t use any electric attacks would be useless and dismisses ash’s challenge angering ash. Cheren says his goodbyes to his friends and tells Ash that he hopes to battle him one day when he has proper Pokémon and walks away.
Bianca too notes that she better leaves quickly and takes her leave. while Hilda sticks around for a bit when professor tells her that Snivy was slightly injured in the previous lab battle and needs to rest up a little.
Hilda introduces herself to Ash. Hilda is head strong but also sweet and wants to beat Alder the Champion and wants to challenge the gyms to enter the league. Ash learns of the league from Hilda. Noticing Pikachu is itching for a battle, Ash challenges Hilda for a battle once Snivy is healed.
