So do you ever find yourself, the reviewer, in this position: "Oh no! I haven't been reviewing fic X and now I'm 5 chapters behind! I won't know what's going on if i skip to the end, but how will I ever find the time to catch up?"

Does this situation seem familiar? "I'm just looking for a fic to read, but look at all those posts! That fic must have been going on for some time now. No way I'm gonna delve into that now."

If you answered "yes" to either of the above questions, then this thread is to you! What if there were a fic that had the same characters each chapter but events that didn't necessarily rely on the previous chapters? It'd be an easily-accessible, pick-up and read type of fic. Does that sound exciting, enticing to anyone yet? Well, if it does, here's the link: http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=87144&page=5

Get ready for the sometimes non-sequitor, often hilarious The Drama of Serebii! Currently with 8 episodes, which are essentially independent of each other.

Okay, seriously now, thanks for the link, as now I can see if I lost something... likely not, though.

lol, nah. I just have always thought that some people might be turned away from a fic with a high post count because they feel that there will be too much catching up to do. This thread is not merely advertisement, I'd also like to hear if I'm right about this at all.

Please make this thread less blatant advertising <_>

You know it's going to get closed the way its posted right now =) As for those feelings when reviewing, I get those all the time! Especially since I'm a very lazy reviewer. I DO review in the end, the more chapters I don't review, the lazier I get, however. But it depends on the fic. If I miss reviewing several chapters of Sabrina's Story, I don't mind too much cos they're very short, but Communication is a different matter if I miss reviewing just two chapters since they are very long.

And I do hope you remember what I said about writing me out of The Drama of Serebii

Well, I see many blatant advertising threads in the a/c. I actually thought that that [2 x] was what it was for for [2 x again!] a while, lol. But this is a thread introducing or expressing a concept, too.

And I do hope you remember what I said about writing me out of The Drama of Serebii

Yeah, I definitely do remember that you wanted to be written out of The Drama of Serebii, but I'm not going to. The fact is, on this forum, you're the equivalent of a public figure. Writing about public figures is fair game. And if that weren't enough, I have your permission from the beginning of the fic to include you...and that's kinda like a contract. So, in short, no.

I don't know. I know almost exactly what I want to write about, but I'm not quite sure how I'll write it. I haven't quite thought about it that much. Stay tuned, though!

Honoring a friend's request is totally unimportant, of course. o.o;;

You had my initial permission to write a fic about me when you were my friend and I had no problem with you writing anything about me. In fact, I was eager to see you write about me. However, things have obviously changed now and I don't want to be in the fic anymore. If you had any sense of decency, you wouldn't write me in a fic that I no longer want to be in

Unfortunately, I am no friend of his.

Well, I don't remember, in the original contract, there being a clause saying your inclusion in the fic was contingent on our remaining friends, so still, no.

Let that be the final off-topic post about it.

And I don't remember anything about my giving permission (which I actually never really did...you guys told us you were going to do a surprise comedy fic and I never said no) was some sort of binding magical contract!

And the reason I have to post here is because you won't respond to me in PM and IM

Maybe because there's nothing worth responding to? I've already said what I have to say on the issue.

This thread is probably going to be closed or something now. Let's get back on topic:

Who here has already started reading a fic with chapters that are almost completely independent of each other? Has that made the process of reviewing easier? could you name the fic?

Me, no (I like to read things in order anyway. Otherwise it feels like cheating), and Farla, Mouse Tourmaline, others I don't remeber.

...so if he's stuck in some contract, shouldn't you be, like... paying him per usage or something?

Are those pokemon fics or non-pokemon fics? And are they here at serebii? I know what you mean about feeling like you have to read things in order, though.

...that was not one of the original stipulations. I suppose, anyway, though, that the pay would be being included in a fic that will be read by people, who in turn might read your fics.

I agree with Act that its a nessecity for me to read fic chapters in order. I'm OCD in that way, I just CANNOT read a fic out of order, I feel so...dirty. Dirty like a Cambodian Hooker. If you wanna read something out of order and isolated, the best way to go is a series of one shots like with lilbluecorsola, FlamingRuby, or Brian Powell.

...and I get more than enough readers without Drama of Serebii

"Oh no! I haven't been reviewing fic X and now I'm 5 chapters behind! I won't know what's going on if i skip to the end, but how will I ever find the time to catch up?"

Well, uh, not really, since I've been out of the loop here for a while now, and even when I was here often I wasn't a big reviewer. I do think that if I was an involved reviewer I would stick with the fic and try to read more often (I honestly think it's not hard to find the time to read more often than the writer updates) to catch myself up instead, although I tend to get pretty lazy.

Yeah, I realize this is off topic, but you look like a real ass by keeping IceKing in the fic against his will. Regardless of whether you're friends anymore, you should atleast respect his request and take him out. Your first post was a pretty cringe-worthy shameless plug, by the way.

Also, since I'm technically still cocreater, I have a little say in this matter. So I'm asking for you to remove him from the fic, or I may, y'know, delete a chapter or three that I've written.

That's very noble. I guess it's easier in the summer, too (which it now is). And what's with people commenting on the advertising? People do it in the a/c all the time? Yeah, it's full of previews and whatnot? I don't get it. Anyway, I guess the above only applies to people with attention-spans too short for them to be able to catch up. Well, attention-spans for fanfics, anyway, lol. Thanks for the comment.

Yeah, and I made this thread because of all the threads that pop up about people not getting reviews. It's time someone empathized with the reviewers, ya know? Perhaps?

-_- What is this supposed to be?

It IS blatant advertising, dear. You have to look with a microscope to see anything else in this thread. And as a matter of fact, if IceKing is not interested in being a part of your fic anymore, you have no right to write about him, and that's the end of that.
