Bike or HM?

I was thinking that rather then a bike in D/P, How about a HM called Dash or something where you get on a Pokemon and run fast just like surf on water.

This would add a new feel and I would like to see the spirit they use since the spirit used for surf changed with every game.

Good Idea, but I'd keep the bike, maybe there should be area where it is unpassple by bike and only by being on your pokemon and climbing

In game ability should be like agility, or maybe like fly. You Dash out of the screen.

I'd like to keep the bike, tbh. You wouldn't have to waste a move, for one, since most HMs have terrible battle effects. (lack surf, cut, strength, and fly)
Unless it was paired with a good, effective move, I'd keep the bike. :<

Well i would'nt say Cut is that great.Why would you want to Dash on pokemon that defeats the purpose of flying and biking.

How many kids do you see riding a bike nowadays. It's either skateboard or carpool.

But do you see too much of pop culture and technology in the games, CardShark? Sure, there's the train in G/S/C and the boats, but there's no cars, unless you count the SS Anne Trucks.
Why not be able to dash on a Dodrio? ;o It ought to be in the pokemon's ability, not be a seperate move.

Maybe......have it along with the bike and as a move like fly but you have to use on land so that you don't always have to carry a flying Pokemon around with you. Just a possibilty "____ used Dash!" Then you see the sprite of the Pokemon come running towards you and you jump on and it shows you running for a few seconds and then you end up at your destination. I like it.

I say keep the bikes. It doesn't take up a move (can you really imagine Ride doing 80 damage or more?), and plus bikes are more accessible, just press Select.

to be honest i dislike this idea even though it's creative but it doesn't have any apeal to me..

plus this would never happen getting a bike for free is a tradition in the pokemon portable games..

Hey that's a pretty good idea. Sort of like that Doduo mission in Ranger. It might be hard figuring out what pokemon you could ride on though, there aren't many. I mean, try riding a Jigglypuff.

It'd make for an interesting HM, actually. I quite like what Tech 64 said about it- having an area unpassable by bike (possibly more than one).

It's something i've wanted ever since that Rapidash episode in season 1.

I'd like Extremespeed to be an HM, but still bike > HM for the sake of a free move.
