Bionicle: Virtues of Darkness (It returns) Sign-ups

Project Alpha

Recharged
Yeah, I've brought back the original Bionicle RPG, the most sucessful RPG I've made.

BIONICLE: A HISTORY, some portions from BZpower. (Only necessary if you know nothing about Bionicle. The rest can move onto the plot)

In the time before time, the island of Mata Nui was a tropical paradise. The villagers, called Matoran, and their elders who lead the villages, the Turaga, lived in peace. That was before the Makuta came. Dark brother of the spirit Mata Nui, the Makuta quickly engulfed the island in evil. Matoran and Turaga inhabitants had almost lost hope in the legends handed down over the years.... legends that told of the coming of six mighty heroes, the Toa, who would free the island of terror. And then, on one unsuspecting day six large canisters washed up on the shores of Mata Nui. Inside the canisters lay the saviors of the island, the Toa.

Each of the six Toa had a special ability to control an element of nature. Tahu was the unspoken leader of the Toa who controlled the element of fire. The solitary Kopaka controlled ice. Clumsy footed Lewa was Toa of the air. Gali the Toa of water was the only female Toa. Onua, Toa of Earth, was as wise as he was strong. And the sluggish Toa of stone Pohatu used his large feet to kick boulders great distances.

The Toa knew what was required of them: defeat the evil that terrorized the island. They also knew that they could not tackle that quest without the aid of six Great Masks of Power, called Kanohi. Thus began the Toa's first quest, the search to find all of the Kanohi masks.

I. Quest for the Masks

The Toa faced two obstacles while searching for their Kanohi. The first was the location of the masks. None of the Toa knew where the masks were dispersed throughout the island. They had to blindly travel the island in search of the Kanohi, given little more than rumor from the Turaga of each village. The second and arguably more challenging obstacles were the Rahi. These were huge beast controlled by the Makuta. Their chief task was to search out and destroy the Toa.

The Rahi appeared in five animalistic forms. The first were the dragonfly-like Nui Rama that were agile and could fly at great speeds. The island scorpions, called the Nui Jaga, had huge tails that could strike at incredible speeds. The Tarakava, aquatic lizards, were rarely seen outside of the water. The Tarakava used their two arms to punch at the Toa. Muaka and Kane-ra are the only two of the fourth known species of Rahi. Many villagers relate their appearance to that of a dinosaur's. Muaka and Kane-ra each have the ability to extend their necks great distances and chomp at their prey. The final species of Rahi is rarely spoken about for they guard the lair of the Makuta: they were the Manas, tremendously powerful crab-like beasts that could take on three Toa at once.

The Rahi were indeed a powerful opponent for the Toa. The Nui Rama were more agile in flight that even the Toa of air. The Nui Jaga snapped their tails with more strength than the Toa of Earth. The Tarakava swam faster than the Toa of water. Muaka and Kane-ra could snap their jaws faster than any Toa could move.

The Toa had an advantage, however. As they each collected six Kanohi masks of power, they became more powerful and were able to outsmart and out power the Rahi. Eventually, all six of the Toa had collected all of the necessary masks needed to begin an even greater quest. The Toa then traveled to their home villages.

Each village housed a small, temple-like structure called a Suva. Once the Toa had collected the six Kanohi they stepped up on to the Suva. Slowly the Suva began to glow, a beam of light shot out and the Toa were pulled into the Suva. The villagers waited, wondering what was going to happen to the Toa. Within a few second the Toa shot up through the Suva again, this time wearing a golden mask.

The gold mask was special. It combined the powers of all six great masks into one mask. This gave the Toa the power of shielding, levitation, speed, x-ray vision, strength and water breathing at the same time. They would need it.

II. Battle with the Makuta

The Toa finally had what they needed to face the ultimate evil, the Makuta. There were many tales and legends about what the Makuta was. No creature saw the Makuta and lived to tell the tale.

The Toa realized that they had to combine forces to defeat the Makuta. They discovered that with the powers of the golden Kanohi, three Toa could fuse into one - creating a Toa Kaita. Tahu, Pohatu and Onua formed one Toa Kaita, Akamai. Lewa, Gali and Kopaka formed Wairuha.

Once the Toa had formed the two Toa Kaita they descended into Makuta's lair. There they clashed forces with the final breed of Rahi, the Manas. Dozens or hundreds of Manas filled the lair. The Manas attacked the Kaita by jumping up and striking them with their claws, attempting to overwhelm the heroes with sheer numbers.

All seemed lost for the Toa. They bravely battled the Manas but knew they could not fight forever. Then, they made an important observation. They spotted large generator-like structures. The Kaita knew that these generators controlled something, but what? They decided to attack the generators and find out. Their great weapons slashed through them easily.

The Manas' glowing eyes dimmed; as the Kaita had hoped, the generators controlled the deadly Manas. Smashed generators and lifeless Manas were all that the Toa Kaita left behind as they advanced toward Mangaia, the Makuta's deep, dark lair.

As they walked, the Kaita began to separate and fall apart. This close to the Makuta's power, the complex structure of Toa Kaita could not survive. They had to face the Makuta as six separate Toa, but worked together as one. They entered the lair of the Makuta to find nothing but a whirling mass of bricks floating in the air. Confused, the Toa looked around. Slowly, out of the shadows came the Makuta. He was not as the villagers had feared. He was not large or frightening and did not seem strong, for he appeared to be merely a Matoran, mottled and infected though he was.

"The people of the world are builders," the Makuta told the six stunned Toa. "But they have the capacity to destroy. I am that power. I am destruction." The Makuta transformed into a tentacled monstrosity and flung the Toa about like rag dolls. Realizing their only hope was to combine their forces, they each flooded the chamber with elemental powers. As the Makuta broke up, he left them with "You cannot destroy me, for I am destruction." Then he disappeared. The Toa immediately were transported up to the surface, leaving Takua the Chronicler, a Matoran who had adventures and recorded them, in the empty cavern.

A door opened. A wall of pods began bursting, revealing strange new creatures. Bug-like creatures nearly overwhelmed the Chronicler, but he managed to escape.

III. The Bohrok Awake

No sooner had the Toa and the Chronicler returned to the surface than strange rumblings began to take place. Mountains began to crumble, molten lava began streaming through the jungle, foliage began to melt, and the seas rose in chaos.

The Bohrok Swarms had arrived.

Sleeping underground for ages, the Bohrok emerged to ravage the landscape of Mata Nui, ignoring or overpowering any attempt to stop their mindless advance. Matched evenly against the Toa, the Bohrok seemed unstoppable until Kopaka discovered the secret of the Krana. The Toa collected as many of the face-like creatures as they could find: there were eight types of Krana, each in 12 different colors. Fortunately the Toa didn't need that many. Krana were dangerous in their own way, however. A flung Krana could attach itself to the face of a Matoran, Turaga, or Toa and take them over. Lewa suffered this fate, but was assisted by Onua, who helped him find the strength to resist the Krana's power.

To aid the Toa in their struggle, an Onu-Koran engineer, Nuparu, discovered a vital secret of the Bohrok: they were merely mechanical contrivances built to carry and fling their Krana "brain" passengers. Using bits and pieces of defeated Bohrok, Nuparu built a fleet of Koronan Defense Vehicles, which were dubbed "Boxors." Several Boxors could hold even a Bohrok Swarm at bay for a short time, leaving the Toa free to discover and battle the evil behind the swarms: the Bahrag twins, Cahdok and Gahdok. The Bohrok Queens. These massive monsters, like Makuta, lurked deep underground. Following the small Bohrok Va, couriers and scouts of the swarms, the six Toa journeyed into the ancient labyrinths that honeycombed the island. Trapped in a seemingly impenetrable chamber, five of the Toa fought their way free and joined Tahu, who had discovered something hidden long before: the Exo-Toa, suits of incredible strength. Each Toa donned a suit and continued to the Bahrag nest.

Fighting valiantly, the Toa once again found themselves fighting against overwhelming power, even with the aid of their Exo suits. They discovered the suits hindered their elemental powers and they shed the suits reluctantly, then joined their power to form a cage around the Bahrag, a cage made of pure protodermis - an energy so potent they'd never before dared to test it. It worked. Cahdok and Gahdok were imprisoned, but in their moment of victory the Toa were sucked into the bowels of the chamber, themselves immersed in liquid protodermis. Elemental powers sparking wildly, fighting for freedom, the Toa were transformed into something different.

IV. Toa Nuva

The Toa Nuva emerged from the Bohrok nest victorious and stronger than ever. The protodermis enhanced their control over elements, but this also meant that they had more to learn about their powers. Little did they notice the cage holding the Bahrag twins had disappeared.

In the Koro, the people were united in celebration. They received signs of victory, the symbols of the Toa Nuva, at the Suva. The symbols were set in the Suva as signs of peace.

The Nuva instantly set the Bohrok to work. It seemed that without the Bahrag or Krana to control them, the Bohrok were completely innocent machines that could be taught to mend their own destuction.

The new tools of the Toa Nuva were also used as modes of transportation. These new tools were made of protodermis, as was their armor. Tahu Nuva's Magma Blades could be merged to create a lava surfboard, useful in Tahu's work of cleaning up lava spills after the Tahnok. Onua Nuva could roller blade on his chainsaw weapons, also known as quakebreakers. Pohatu Nuva's claws gave him the ability to climb cliff faces, but could also combine into a powerful legendary Kodan Ball. Kopaka Nuva remained cold and solitary, and he had the ability to skate on his icy swords on the slopes of Mt. Ihu. Gali Nuva's Aqua Axes transformed into flippers to help her swim ever faster in the watery deep. Finally, Lewa Nuva, perhaps not so clumsy as he once was, wielded new Air Katana that allowed him to soar and glide on air currents.

When the protodermis changed the Toa, it also took their golden Kanohi. They were replaced by masks of even greater power: Kanohi Nuva. These mighty masks gave the Toa Nuva the power to achieve their destiny. They also give the wearer the ability to share his or her powers with those nearby. These new powers would be very useful when the Bohrok-Kal appear.

V. Bohrok-Kal

Six specially-enhanced versions of the Bohrok, one in each color, appeared after the defeat of the Bohrok Swarms. These Kal carried metallic Krana with special powers, whose sole purpose is to release the Bahrag twins from their protodermic prison.

Individually, they are more than a match for any Toa, especially when they steal each Toa's "symbol" from the villages and render the Toa Nuva's environmental powers useless. The Toa are forced to join together once again, tracking the Bohrok-Kal across mountains and desert, to prevent them from using the six symbols to unlock the Nuva Cube, a lock on the Bahrag's prison. The symbols are keys that will free the Bahrag from their prison.

Luckily, the Nuva managed to stop the Kal by overloading their powers and destroying them. Mata Nui had been saved again.

VI. The Mask of Light

Takua, the chronicler of the matoran and Jaller, the captain of the Ta-Koro find the mask of the mystical seventh Toa, the Toa of Light. As they travel across Mata Nui in search of the seventh Toa, Makuta sends the Rahkshi, his most dangerous creations yet to destroy them. As the Toa Nuva help them along the way, at Kini Nui, Takua puts on the mask and becomes the Toa of Light. Takanuva descends into Makutas lair, and confronts him, crushing him under a doorway. Makutas defeat opens the path to Metru Nui, the city of Legends

VII. City of Legends

Vakama reveals that he and the other Turuga were once Toa. The matoran lived in Metru Nui, guarded by Turaga Dume and Toa Lhikan. When Lhikan is captured by two of the mysterious Dark Hunter organization, Nidhiki and Krekka, the Turuga, who at the time were matoran become Toa Metru. Unknownst to them, Turuga Dume is a fake, and is actually Makuta. Makuta and the Vahki enforcers capture the matoran and put them in canisters, where they go into a dark sleep. Suddenly, Makutas brotherhood put to sleep Mata Nui, and other great beings. In the end, Makuta is defeated, but Lhikan dies saving Vakama.

Later on, after an adventure to save the matoran, the Toa Metru go to Mata Nui, and give their powers to save the matoran and become Turaga. However Makuta has awaken. 1000 years later, a matoran named Takua brings six Toa stone to Kini Nui and summons the Toa to the island...

The story: Virtues of Darkness

10,000 years have passed since the Toa Nuva awakened Mata Nui (How has not been revealed in the story). They now serve as his personal guardians in the heavens. Makuta is missing, but no one knows if he's dead or not. Matoran built mini Exo-Toa to defend themselves from rahi. The Dark Hunters organization still exists, but they've scattered ever since the death of their leader, The Shadowed One. Only one or two of them still exist. The Brotherhood of Makuta is gone. Cahdok and Gahdok are still imprisoned. The matoran began to explore tons of new lands. All was at peace.

However, one day at the great fortress of Mata Nui, three shadows arrived. The Toa Nuva ran to check out the shadows and were suddenly imprisoned in a wierd sphere, before they knew what was happening. The shadows broke into Mata Nui's private chambers, and began to force him into the sphere. Before Mata Nui was sucked into the sphere the shadows proclaimed: "Long live the virtues of Darkness! Makutas ultimate triumph is at hand!"

Mata Nui was almost completely absorbed into the sphere, when his mask shone and a holy light shot out of his mask. Suddenly 3000 matoran were blasted with Toa energy and turned into Toa. However the virtues were prepared. They glowed a black light and suddenly 3000 matoran were blasted into Dark Toa, only knowing the three Virtues of Darkness: Greed, Anger, and Chaos.

A month later, the Dark Toa and Light Toa are at war. You are either a Light Toa or a Dark Toa. The choice is yours whether you destroy the world, or save it. However, as the RPG progresses, you learn some of the Virtues of Darknesses true plan. Which side are you?

Bewear my power
AWESOME! A Bionicle RPG! I like Bionicle a lot (I have TONS of Bionicle Legos), and a Bionicle RPG would rock.

One question though: do you get to control Rahi, including those from Metru Nui? That would rock. *imagines controlling a beast from the Bionicle Rahi Guide*

Anyway, here's my sign-up.

Name: Darkrat

Gender: Male

Allignment: Dark

Elements: Poison

Description: Darkrat, like all Toa, stands somewhere around 6' in height. His body has a black hue, with green stripes running across it like a tiger. His mask is black, with two lines of green above his eyes, which are red.

Personality: Darkrat loves the thrill of battle. He feels pleasure when he is destroying his enemies by using his poison staff to slowly eat away at their health, making them feel every sensation of pain, until they die. He is a master tactition, knowing every tactical advantage in the book. He believes that this, along with his amazing skills of trickery, is enough to take down the new Light Toa.

Due to his origin as a Le-Matoran, he speaks the Le-Koran slang very well.

History: Darkrat's name was originally Tarkard. He was a Le-Matoran that never made it very well on Mata Nui. He never had any friends, and prefered it to be that way. His first taste of darkness came when the Levahk (how do you spell that?) took Le-Koro, and he was transformed into a minion of the Bohrok swarms by the Krana. The Krana had effected his mind in permenant ways; he now felt darkness welling up inside him. That darkness emerged when he was transformed into a Dark Toa. Because of his newfound power, Tarkard reversed his name, and from that day forward, Darkrat was born.

Mask: Mask of Levitation (I forget it's name, sorry). It allows the user to levitate for a period of time. (I forget most details about the mask, sorry again)

Lemurian

Lady Myuu's Opposite
Miru was the mask of levitation.

Remember me? I'm signing up again, same Toa.

Name: Lealex
Gender: Male
Affinity: Light.
Element: Earth.

Description: Lealex has a suit of armour made off some nicely decorated Nuva-armour ( like the ones the Toa Nuvas use ). The rest of the armour is in a dark green colour, with the only exceptions the katanas and the mask. The mask is quite simple and looks much like the Kanohi Miru, except that it has something that looks like spikes adorning the sides of it.

Personality: Lealex is a brave and rash fellow with a sharp tongue and a very tough Toa to anger. He is hot-headed and will more charge into an unknown dungeon than explore it carefully. He is very loyal though, and a good friend. He hates all kinds of trickery ,mostly because he himself is too easy to trick.

History: Probably the only Le-Matoran to better like to explore the ground than fly around in the air, Lealex early started exploring the Le-koro jungle and its Rahis. With a few unpleasant meetings with Nui-Ramas, he quickly learned the dangers with the jungle as well. After a problem with some Tarakavas at the sea-border, he was chased into the jungle. Suddenly, he rushed straight into a solid rock-wall that was a part of a small shrine, heavily covered in brushes. He hided in there and when it finally became quiet, he saw where he had appeared. It was a Toa-shrine, like those Lewa had told about when he wasn't flying around. Lealex, curious and foolish as he was, touched the small stone that was in the middle of the shrine...and woke up as a Toa.

Weapon: Lealex carries two long katanas, both in a sharp, light-green colour.
Mask: Kanohi Kakama Nuva, the Great Mask of Speed. The mask is the same colour as his katanas.

Another one? This'd better not die... I think that I'll bring back Kahlim, but retool him a bit. I remember the first RP being 3,000 years after Mask of Light, so that gives me about 7,000 years of history to write. Not a short order.

Name: Kahlim
Gender: Male
Allignment: Dark
Elements: Plasma
Description: Kahlim's body is pure black, hailing from his far-distant ancestry as an Onu-matoran miner. He has shoulder pads, arm guards, grieves and chest armor of a dark platinum color made of solid protodermis. Much of his body has scars or scorch marks on it. Kahlim's eyes glow faintly a blood-red color.
Personality: After harnessing his powers, Kahlim feels little anymore. He is forever loyal to the darkness and its three corrupted virtues, and from his standpoint the Light Toa and all of their allies are evil. Kahlim will immediately kill any light toa that he comes into contact with, and hardly speaks at all to anyone that he does not already trust (e.g. everyone except Alpha's old character).
History: Kahlim was alive back when the Toa Metru took on Makuta and the Vahki. He lived a rather simple life as a miner for quite a while. But about 2995 years after Takanuva defeated Makuta and Mata Nui was reawakened, Kahlim accidentally mined in the wrong direction and ended up in a chamber below the Kini-Nui Sava. The exact details of this episode are unknown, but the end result was a matoran formerly known as "Chrom" to be transformed into a toa, enlightened by the dark forces, who dubbed himself "Kahlim."
Kahlim was still a fledgling toa with an axe-arm as his weapon, so he spent five years growing ties with the powers of darkness. One day, he happened upon the Ta-wahi beach and found a cave formed by dark lightning. Kahlim went through the cave and eventually reached another Dark Toa and helped him take down a monster within the tunnel. At the end of the cave was an entrance to the land of Sam-vir, where Kahlim spent his first real time serving as a dark toa.
Years passed and the first dark movement involving Kahlim was snuffed. Kahlim went into secret and trained a young Le-matoran to live by the Virtues of Darkness. Eventually, Kahlim was forced out of his small shack of a home by no fewer than a hundred light toa. Kahlim's student, Lehmoto, went on to fight in the second dark uprising of Kahlim's life, only to die just as Kahlim was able to join in the fighting. Kahlim left to give his apprentice a proper send-off and missed the battle that marked second movement's end.
After this setback, Kahlim went away to search for the core of the Virtues of Darkness, to provide another fall of the forces of darkness. For 6,000 years he searched, at times wanting to give up. He missed several wars between light and dark completely, some of which he might have been able to turn the tide of. For these 6,000 years he searched and honed his skills in the wilderness, slowly becoming less of a brute and more of a swift fighter. And after these many long years of survival, Kahlim had grown very swift and very powerful indeed.
Eventually, Kahlim arrived upon a distant land, the Island of the Makuta. He made it to within sight of a temple before a voice spoke to him. It said, "you have shown immense loyalty and devotion to the Virtues of Darkness. Come, for I shall help you realise your full potential as a warrior of the shadows!" Before Kahlim could even finish processing this through his mechanical brain, he was enveloped in a case of shadows and disappeared, not to be seen for almost a millenia.
When Kahlim returned, he was a completely different entity. He was much more weathered, and his body was strounger and more durable. His powers were said by a beholder to be "swift and mighty, like lightning strike." And, instead of his now-normal axe-arm, he had a black scythe with a platinum blade for a weapon. Kahlim is now only a shell of what he once was....
Mask: Though Kahlim picked up a variety of masks on Sam-Vir, he prefers to wear the Kanohi Akaviri Moto, the Great Mask of Teleportation. This mask allows Kahlim to instantaneously relocate himself anywhere within a mile of his current location. It is pure black and a vertical oval, with three spikes protruding from the top and a triangular piece covering the nose and mouth.

Oblivion- Yeah, another one. I am thinking if I do another Bionicle RPG after this, it wont's be in the future. Anyways, accepted.

King of the Munchlax

Needs a new name...
May I join?

Name: Sargato
Gender: Male
Alignment: Light
Elements: Ice

Description: His whole body is an icy light blue. His eyes are also an icy blue. His armor is a silver color and consists of his battle ax holder, shoulder pads, torso armor, arm and leg guards made of the hardest and finest form of protodermis. He has an enormous gash across his mask.

Personality: He’s calm and collected most of the time. The only thing that truly makes him angry is any reference to the one who gave him his scar. Remarkably loyal to the light side, Sargato tries to kill all dark Toa he meets and if he fails he often never makes that same mistake again. Occasionally, he shows a sign of joy.

Weapon: Sargato carries a thin bladed battle ax made of the strongest form of ice. It never wears and because of its thinness the ax can cut through most objects. He uses his battle ax to do many of his ice attacks.

History: Sargato never really new where he had come from. He was a traveler and met many kinds of Rahi, a few of the Toa, and quite a few matoran. Shortly, after the Light Toa versus Dark Toa war began, he was attacked by a Dark Toa and received his scar. He prayed Mata-Nui for help while he walked around dieing in the vast deserts of Mata-Nui searching for help. After a few days, he felt a light hit him and then blacked out. When he woke up he had changed completely into a Toa! Only thing that remained of his matoran looks was his scar.

Mask: He owns the Great Mask of Seasons, Sea-lona. This mask allows him to change the season temporarily and within a half mile of himself. Sea-lona is basically round with two small lines on each cheek. It has the crest of the season he is going to use near the forehead, winter is a snowflake, summer is the sun, fall is a leaf, and spring is a flower. It covers up his mouth with a painted mouth of a creature with sharp teeth.

Not in the future? Works fine for me, because (extreme spoiler) [SPOIL]this'll be Kahlim's last involvement in the light/dark thing.[/SPOIL]
