Hey Every One

I just Curious about what everyone else thinks of the B/W anime saga so far.

me personally:

Ash: I am disappointed that it seems that Ash has totally forgotten everything he learned on his journey and his character has started over. It was better in hoenn and sinnoh in which ash has matured (even thou he is still 10 :I) and was acting as a mentor to May and Dawn. now I can't even handle ash because I have grown to respect his character since episode 1 and now its all gone.

and one another note, he finished fourth in the sinnoh semi finals with Pikachu tied with Laitos(a LEGENDARY pokemon). then turns around and loses to a snivy that was just picked up by a novice trainer. Regardless whether or not pikachu couldn't use electricity it should have still destroyed snivy.

Iris: I don't know where to Begin with Iris because I simple hate her. Every time she says "your just a little kid" I want to punch something. Also (Even though I am sure it is too come) the lack of character building on her is driving me insane. I must say with her as the female main character for B/W, they could have done better.

Cilian: As for this guy, well lets just say I miss brock. Cilian is not funny at all, his food puns are making me go mental. And he mind as well be master of the universe since he seems to be a Connoisseur on EVERYTHING!! I like him more then Iris but still they could have done better. they should have spiced things up a bit and threw in the male main character from the B/W game.

Team Rocket: I have to say, Team Rocket is so bad *** in this saga. I always thought that blasting off was getting old even if it was tradition. Not only do they have ingenues plans(that some how fail, like the subway plan, pure brilliance) But they have kick *** outfits and gear. I love the new Team Rocket

Well this seems to be more of a rage session :p but those are my thoughts

Agree? Disagree? Any additions?

Yeah, ok!
Sounds like a blog post. There are pros and cons to every saga.

Cilan however is a breath of fresh air and one of the few really good things about BW.

i dont mind iris that much. i like her goal even though she really takes a while to get some development on it. and cilan is a great traveling partner imo. brock was getting old with all the flirting gags he would do it got old for me by diamond and pearl

yea I see what your saying about brock. but I liked the Adult figure he was. But with Cilian I can't see that even though he is suppose to be.

If you're a dub watcher only, then the Iris focus really picks up starting next week. I believe Ash just won his 8th badge in the dub so keep watching and you'll get the Iris development you're looking for. Can't say much about the "what a kid" line since that's a pretty standard complaint for iris. I personally find it funny xD

I'm disappointed that they turned Ash into his old self rather than his mature self. But at least he's starting to return to that now as the series has picked up.
Iris, I started the series completely hating her, especially when she says "You're such a kid". However when she does get her own episodes I find them to some of the best episodes of BW like the Excadrill one way back. However, I'm still not too fond of her, I like her a little more but I'd rather she left after this gen is over.
As for Cilan, Loved his character to begin with but as the series has progressed I'm getting a little bored of him as he's started to go back into the shadows like Brock did (luckily enough though the latest Japanese episode does bring him back out again, let's just hope he stays out and gets some episodes for himself like a certain someone is).

We've all been there man. Ash does get better though. Very slowly. Cilan is Cilan, he'll be like that for all of BW. And as for iris well if you dislike her now you will absolutely hate her when [spoil]she hypnotizes a dragonite using her dragon voodo powers to be captured by her without a fight. It also happens to be immune to ice attacks and can tank hits from legendaries like they were nothing[/spoil]

It's ability is Multiscale (probably)... that would explain the way it deals with ice attacks.

Izit cuz I is black?
I enjoy BW for what it is, but yeah, you bring up some good points even if most of your complaints are out of date. It was a lame move taking Ash back to novice status, but he's back on track and Pikachu has been more of a secret weapon. Compare this to Johto when Pikachu was the fall guy in almost every single gym after defeating a Dragonite not long before. I sort of wish that Pikachu losing his electric powers had become a longer running storyline involving Zekrom, but that time has passed.

I also agree that Iris has an annoying personality and she's my least favourite of the four main girls but her pokemon somewhat make up for it. I wish the development of Axew wasn't sidelined so much, but I love the little guy. When Iris is used well she's a good character who is good at battling and has good relationships with her pokemon, but when she's just being obnoxious it's quite irritating. Cilan steals many an episode for me; he makes fillers far more enjoyable with his fleeting obsessions with the COTD's hobby, and it was a good move by the writers to find a constant excuse for having the gang participate in little side quests.

The biggest flaw with BW for me, as far as the main cast goes, is Team Rocket. Taking their jobs more seriously and building their plots in the background to be resolved in two-parters was a smart move. They don't have to be in every single episode. But their personalities are gone. Jessie and James haven't been themselves in two years, and Meowth very rarely does. They can be competent and still have their old perseverance and wit. They're bland as hell now. Even their relationship with Giovanni is no longer enjoyable.

The faster pace resulted in not having enough development for some of Ash's Pokemon. Most of the battles in BW didn't seem to be in the level that the Sinnoh battles were.
