Blue Team Fillers?

I have started blue again to do the mew trick. I want to know which pokes to use along with the four I have in mind. I dont want to use mew I will just automatically trade it to crystal.I started 3 times to get all 3 starters.
Charizard
Blastoise
Pikachu
Venusaur?

Which two should I use as fillers?
Tauros I love but it isnt so good in blue so maybe ill teach tm moves. I allways use a Dugtrio because other pokes do not learn good moves but I have had 3 lvl 70 Dugtrio and it is getting boring. I will use one if I need to but if you have any better ideas.

I was thinking of using types like Psycic and Ground but not the usual ones. Ie MrMime and Sandslash

Maybe a Rhydon as well?

Sandslash or Dugtrio would be a good choise if you want ground. For a Psychic type I would go with Alakazam or Mewtwo for power, but the most important thing you can do is choose pokemon you like, even if others say they are not good. In other words, if you like Tauros, put it on your team

Tauros
Venusaur
