Bosses that take forever to fight

Of all the bosses you've faced in your gaming career, which ones took you the longest time to fight? What level were your characters, what weapons/moves did they have, and how many tries did it take before you beat them? Did you do a celebration cry and/or dance when you finally beat them?

For me, that honor goes to Liza and Tate (Pokemon R/S/E). It took me two restarted games and two lv. 40+ Pokemon that were part Flying to finally beat them. I remember crying a big hearty "YES!!!!!!!" when Rainbow (my Beautifly) delivered the final blow.

Omega Pirate

shove it up ya bum!
I'd have to say the boss at the end of Lost Kingdoms (the first one). That crazy white thing with 6 arms. It takes ages to kill, you don't know what it's HP is, it never shows any signs that it is near death and never changes its' battle technique. After about 1/2 an hour of fighting it I killed it but at the same time I died so it didn't register. ARGH! It's so frustrating. It takes ages and I either run out of cards or health. If someone has then some tips would be nice :D

The rest of the game is relatively easy, this has to be one of the most frustrating bosses ever. More frustrating that Metroid Prime.

I'd have to stay Abyssion from Tales of Symphonia. He has 120,000 HP for pete sakes!

Neko Godot

Hey! Listen!
Cackletta the ghost and the Shadow Queen from the Mario RPGs. They took a long time to beat, and weren't that easy, either.

Marsh Trainer
The end from MGS3 It's a freakin' sniper battle in the forest. He has soo much work.

Theres one boss in Yoshi's island, I think its a Miniboss actualy, half way through world 5, where you need to hit the heart by pushing back this jelly stuff. You have about 2 and a half minutes to do it, but if you screw up once, your practilcy dead.

And Super Mario 64, Bowser #3. Despite the fact hes spose to get slower as the battle progresses, you STILL need to get behind him on a star shaped platform. Hit his Knee your Dead ><;

*thinks for a moment* and alot of the Spyro PS1 bosses are hard/long if for no other reason their freaking impossible to hit. To this day I still have trouble fighting Ripto ><

Hmm...I´ve fought many bosses that just won´t die, but right now I can only remember the final boss from Kingdom Hearts II. If it´s not a human, it´s castle. If it´s not a castle, it´s a frigging battleship.

The boss that wouldn't die I can think of off the top of my head would be Kreia in Knights Of The Old Republic II. Took ten minutes to whittle down her health, and then she unleashed her trio of lightsabers.

Last boss on the Legend of Dragoon

Melbu Frahma

I HATE this guy. This is the easy answer any time I see these questions.

Willow's Tara

The Bewitched
DGCat- Hey who is that woman in your sig? She looks a bit like Iyari Limon from Buffy and Penelope Cruz from wherever the hell I seen her before?

Lets see... Browser in Luigi's mansion, I can barely defeat him, I have gotten mclose but I am always too low on my hp.

TThe finale boss in Turok: Seeds of Evil, I think he can heal and it very hard trying to aim at his head, especially when he looks like a disgustuing oversize cockaroach...

The last level in Dungeon Keeper, The Avatar, you proactially have to raise all of your creatures to level 10, because he has too many heros alongside with him. and worse he is ressurcted all over again when you kill him. So Scavager room and lots of Trap is good idea in that level..

Between Evil vamp Tara, The First and Kaiakoti or whatever his name is (The guiy Faith has to fight) in Chaos bleeds, it took a while before I took Faith's boos down, The first isn't that hard, and wi9th vamp Tara, you have to try advoid her magic, the other vcampires attacking you all a while Willow (You) using youjr own magic to kill her alotertive world tara, now I love Tara/Amber Benson but I actually (I think) cheered a bit.. ((You can't be a boss without me using wise *** comments really)

Abyssion from Tales Of Symphonia indeed. That thing took almost forever with it's large amount of HP.

My longest boss battle ever was Marluxia in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. I think Sora was at level 81 or something of the like, I'm not sure if it was my own inability or if its supposed to take that long, but either way, it took me forever.

I could also mention Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts II. Of course, the only reason it is so long is because there are about 7 different rounds of fights with him right in a row, so you can't really help but take a good 30 minutes to beat him. I suppose that's caused by the intervals within it where you have no control, but still.

I almost forgot to mention Luther in Star Ocean: 'Til the End of Time. The first battle with him is quite short but the second battle took me forever. I'm pretty sure my fighters (Cliff, Fayt, and Maria) were under-leveled for the task, but his constant use of his "ultimate program" towards the end made chances to get a hit in on him few and far apart. It took me three or four tries but I did it. On a side note, the game wasn't really as good as I expected. In fact, it's the only SquareSoft/Square Enix game I've ever played that I didn't fall in love with.

Then there's Aphelion (the silver dragon) from Radiata Stories. He wasn't hard, he just had a lot of HP and his health was constantly being restored by a few points every second/half-second or so. Once you figure out the attack pattern its not difficult though (fantastic game nonetheless)

120,000HP? That's nothing. The final boss of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time has 600,000 total HP (divided into 200,000 and 400,000 chunks). Gabriel Celestia (same game) has 1,000,000 HP, Lenneth has 7,000,000HP, and Freya has 10,000,000 HP.
That is insane. How long do they take to defeat?

Anyway, I've fought Abyssion as well and considering I'd already equipped the strongest weapons behind the Devil's Arms themselves to my characters, and it was my second playthrough of the game, he wasn't too difficult. Though he did take awhile.

Abbyssion, Tales of Symphonia, mania difficulty.

Not impossible, but it takes long to master and, even when you DO master it, the battle itself is pretty long. Sadly, I only managed to beat him once. Now I can't get anywhere close. I'm around lv90 btw, and not too great at the game...X_X.

Like I said, a very long time. Luther's second battle took me about a half hour (maybe longer).

You have to remember, too, that each game is different on the HP scale. Luther may have a ton more HP than Abyssion, but the attacks in each repective game may do more or less damage. So, in proportion, 400,000 in SOTET may be equal to Abyssion in TOS. I'm not saying it is, in this particular situation, necesarily true. It's just something to keep in mind.

Yeah, I understand that. I mean, a character could have 10,000,000 HP, but each attack my inflict 1,000,000. But judging from your proportions the boss Freya that Latios mentioned would still sound like it would take a freakin' long time. o.o

Kingdom Hearts II Sephiroth. Lv. 55, Ultima weapon. I danced alright.

Most people didn't really write the times it takes to defeat, the one I named took a solid 3 hours.
