Boy and Girl

Would it be a good idea to be capable to choose the hero to be a girl or boy? I personally belive so, and the trainers should be around Wes's age or older. I think it would bring a bit of maturity into the game. I'm not saying Pokemon is kiddy either. What are your thoughts on this?

I think a choice like in the GBA games would be good, and maybe for once some trainers who aren't caucasian.

interesting perspective i never thought ofthat it would be good if they add more to it like color and stuff to people instead every one being caucasion

I thought of that as well. The reason I wanted them older is so the ingame trainers have no reason to call you, "pip-squeak," or "...cute little kid," and they don't say you don't look strong. I liked the feeling of playing a renagade in Pokemon Colloseum.

Caucasion is means White skinned.

I dont get it though.. Chinese/Japanese/Koreaons make the game so why are the characters still white?

Yes maybe they admire people with white skins, or because the most games are sold in countries with a lot of white people, or maybe white people are just more different, I mean the have blond, brown, red and black hair, and other stuff like that?

OMG yall - the Japanese have white skin too O_O! They're obviously all asian, they aren't white, black, hispanic, (like the Anime shows for certain people)

They are Asian. (Specifically Japanese)

And you know that all of these colors you see on the Trainers hairs (like Blue, Yellow, Dark Red) <--People dye their hair those colors in Japan...it's just like what you see in anime. (Misty's sisters for example)

The only reason there are no blacks/hispanics/other trainers very often and not in the games is because of the whole Jynx incident a few years ago. Jynx represented the ganguro fashion and a Japanese Snow witch (that's why its Skin was like completely Black)

I still think that they can make it where the you can personalize your character so it looks like you. >>; I get tired of looking the same as others. D:

The characters from the Coloesseum/XD seem more 'story' driven in the case that the character has to be chosen already..

I would like older characters like Wes, we have the normal games for the younger ones,

but yeah I can't recall any characters that are black that have appeared in Pokemon, besides maybe more tanned characters like Brock, even the 'latino' characters look very white besides the Sombrero...

It would be good to add variety but after all this time it would also look odd.

Id also like to see older characters. I hate playing as a small child who is about 6 (the boys looks about six, the girls always look about 10).

That sounds good, especially since this could have an online battle mode. Nobody wants to battle a clone.

Well, I dunno if that will be a possibility in this game, but other games might.
Recently it was announced that there MIGHT be a custimation type thing for your character in Wii Sports. I can't find the article on IGN but here is a quote from it.
IGN said:
During an interview with Kotaku, Mr. Miyamoto mentioned each Wii controller may have a built-in profile system which could allow for customisation of looks and settings, which will be determined by which Wii controller turned the Wii on.

I believe that someone mentioned that the characters in the pokemon games are supposed to be 'racially neutral', but yeah, they do look caucasian. Weren't most of the trainers in gsc darker skinned than normal anyway? I don't understand why they didn't allow the player to choose race.
