Some time ago I decided to try a little breeding experiment, my friend was willing to trade a Zangoose to my Leafgreen for my experiment. I taught the Zangoose he gave me crush claw and swords dance as they are both good egg moves for my favorite pokemon, Sandshrew. After many many MANY eggs, I finally got what I was looking for, an Adamant male sandshrew baby with crush claw and swords dance. Fast forward a bit and my little Sandshrew has grown up and evolved into a Sandslash. He's level 55 and his moves are Crush Claw, Swords dance, Swift and Sand Tomb(He hasn't learned sandstorm yet, when he does I will replace sand tomb with sandstorm). I was thinking and wondering, Swift, is a nice move to have, because it's a normal move, it
s damage is based on my Brawlers' attack stat, but my Brawler has a weakness against Rock and Steel pokemon, due to their high defence. What I need to know is the move dig based on attack or sp. attack? Because I think it would be a suitable replacement for swift and would certianly take care of those rock/steel pokemon a lot better than swift does.

Thanks in advance!

Could have looked on the site for this! Dig being a ground type move, is based on the attack stat

HI!!

Yeah, dig is a physical attack. If you gave it that, or better yet, earthquake (if you still have the TM), it would be pretty good. Except, then he'd only have on e move to beat his weaknesses, because crush claw would do like nothing, because he doesn't even get STAB.
Hope this helps

Okay, thanks a lot guys, I didn't know earthquake was based on attack, that's good news because I still have the TM.

Thanks guys!!!
