I'm Back
Episode 1
The sparking conversation
The sparking conversation
“What’s that?” Kitty questioned, the blonde lady speaking to her. She was locked in eye contact with the formal looking lady across the table from her. She analyzed her with her soft blue eyes before leaning forward from the mahogany chair and scratching her back. She was sporting a silky short cute black dress with elegant elbow length white gloves. Her tan complexion was highlighted by her straightened brown hair. The lip gloss on her lips shimmered delightfully as she wrinkled her nose before letting out a sneeze.
“Katherine!” The elegant lady barked slamming her white-gloved hand on the table. She lowered her light eyebrows and made an angry face, a piece of her blonde bangs falling out of place as she did. She took a deep breath in and fixed the hair with one finger. She crossed her pale legs to make sure no one was looking up her sparkling red dress. “It is not, ‘What’s that?’ It is, ‘Pardon me ma’am?’ Please, try to adapt the proper mannerisms of a Ledyba Lady,” She pleaded to Kitty.
Kitty’s head rested on her hand, where her elbows were placed rudely on the table. She sighed and then said, “I don’t want to become a Ledyba Lady, I want to go see all of Amerto and then go to the other regions.”
“You are too young, there are so many dangers out there,” The lady argued.
“Linda, you aren’t my mom and Frankly no one could replace her.”
“We are all sad about your mothers passing but I am sure she would have enjoyed to see you become a Ledyba Lady like she was,” Linda forcedly said.
“Beige town is really boring and hard to live in. It has one mall and one school, then the rest of it is houses that all look the same,” Kitty whined.
“You are forgetting the Ledyba Ladies Club, which is one of the most extravagant buildings this side of Amerto.”
“Well what about the other side of Amerto?” She got up from her chair making an irritating sound as she did so. Her white heels clicked on the beautiful floral patterned floor, as heads of many ladies and girls wearing red dresses turned to watch her walking towards the exit. She opened the double French doors leading to the entrance hall and then hastily closed them behind her.
‘Click, click, click’ Kitty heard the sound of shoes clicking towards her speedily. “Katherine, please just listen to reason,” Linda panted.
“No I’m done,” Kitty replied turning to the exit.
“Oh!” Linda grunted, clenching two fists by her sides. “You’ve adapted the mannerisms of that brute of a father you have!”
“Look, Linda, if that means that I’d rather choose the pokemon champion league over the Ledyba League, than yes I have!” Kitty shouted back, echoing to the other girls. She opened the door and slammed it behind her.
Outside, the sky was partially cloudy, as always in Beige town. How Kitty longed for a storm or a drought, but she knew it’d never come true in this town. It was always stale, the beige paving went throughout the town and all the beige houses were lined up side by side with a boring lamp post for every two houses. Only one thing made things interesting for Kitty and that was pokemon.
She reached down into her cleavage and pulled out a red and white pokeball. She pressed a button and the ball expanded. She threw it in front of her and a flash occurred as a pokemon materialized before her eyes. The ball flew back to her hand and she shrunk it and placed it back in her cleavage.
The pokemon was a small cat-like pokemon who was mainly pink, aside from her beige underside and beige upside down crescent moon that covered the majority of her face. Her pointed ears twitched happily as her skinny tail which lead to a puffy pink part with three pins on it swayed back and forth. “Skitty,” It mewed playfully, running towards her trainer.
“Oh, how I longed to get out of there,” Kitty sighed. “Isn’t that right Pooka?” She asked her pokemon playfully.
“Skit, skit, skitty,” Pooka purred softly as it jumped up in Kitty’s arms.
“Ya, we don’t have to be Ledyba Ladies, do we?” She questioned as if she was talking to a baby.
“You quit the Ledyba Ladies!” Said a feminine ladies voice as a boy came running from behind Kitty. His hair was brown and he wore a blue business suit which was a tight fit and only moved when he did as he flailed his arms in the air.
“Felix,” Kitty sighed. “Of course I did, Pooka and I decided that they can take their fancy, snobbish ways and shove it up their…”
“Hey! I love the Ledyba Ladies and would die just to become one! Of course I’m a boy so that won’t happen,” Felix whined. “I can see that Pooka is enjoying herself.” Felix announced pointing to the skitty who was pawing her puffy part of her tail. “How I’d love to take your skitty away from you and raise her to become a contest pokemon.”
“Contests? Oh those things with the ribbons?” Kitty questioned.
“YES!” Felix shouted angrily. “Are you too wrapped up in the pokemon League with gym battles and whatnot to even notice that I want to become a coordinator?” Felix pouted holding his head down.
“That’s it!” Kitty exclaimed as she snapped her fingers and made Pooka jump out of her arms.
“You’ve decided to become a coordinator?” Felix asked. As Pooka walked cheerily beside her trainer wagging her tail.
“No that’s not it, you and I are going to travel to all the cities and towns to become pokemon champions in contests and of course the pokemon league!” She joyfully said as she bounced up and down.
“I’m not joining the pokemon league,” Felix scoffed.
“No, I meant I’ll be doing the pokemon league challenge and you’ll be doing the contest challenges.”
“Ski?” Pooka meowed as she rubbed her furry head against Kitty’s shaven leg.
“And yes, you’ll be helping,” Kitty told her skitty as she picked her up with both hands and lifted her high above her own head as she made funny faces.
“And I hope that you won't be entering contests with Pooka,” Felix shuttered.
“Of course not!” Kitty replied angrily. “I’d never enter a pokemon meant to battle in such a demeaning event.”
“Biagio is the prefect example of a contest pokemon,” Felix bragged, pulling out a small red and white pokeball.
“What?” Kitty giggled. “He can barely walk…”
“C’mon out Biagio!” Felix shouted as he expanded the pokeball and threw it into the sky. A line of light extended from the pokeball to the ground and before everyone’s eyes a pokemon appeared.
A beige and brown pokemon came out. He had spirals for eyes and weird patterns going along his body. His body was mainly beige but his back, circles around his eyes and the tips of his ears were all brown. His little noticed tail jittered a little bit as he wobbled around, unable to keep his balance. “Spinda?” It questioned its surroundings before going back to almost falling repeatedly. “Spi-i-i-i-i-inda-a-a-a-a!” He cried before falling on his bottom.
Both Kitty and Pooka began to laugh before Kitty said, “He can’t even stay up! How do you expect to enter a contest when your pokemon can’t even stand straight.”
“Don’t you know anything?” Felix scoffed. “There are five types of contests: Cool, Beauty, Cute, Smart and Tough. Biagio will obviously enter the cute one, so ha!”
“Pooka is cute, but she can also stand still,” Argued Kitty.
“She won’t be cute after so many battles!”
“Coordinators have to battle too dummy!”
“Well they don’t have to rip each other apart!”
“Neither do battling pokemon!”
“Fine!”
“Fine!”
A moment of silence occurred as Felix scooped Biagio up into his arms and cradled him as he walked beside his friend. Her skitty, Pooka was being hugged tightly around the tummy with the pink cat’s chin touching Kitty’s arms.
“Well I don’t think I can go on this little expedition of yours,” Felix said breaking the silence. “My parents won’t let me and there is the matter of food, money, medical issues, protection, and all that stuff.”
“Our pokemon are our protection, there is a pokemon centre every town we can bring food from our houses and when we win contests and gym battles we get a lot of money, so there isn’t any excuses left!” Kitty rudely uttered.
“Well my mother won’t let me go,” He argued.
“Sneak out.”
“And have her call all the Officer Jennies in the world!”
“I’m sure you won’t be missed.”
“Whatever, my family loves me!”
“And mine doesn’t?” Kitty asked shocked, stopping in her tracks.
“That’s not what I meant, I just meant my family loves me and they’ll miss me,” Felix rambled as Biagio’s head rolled around in his arms. “I mean come on Kitty, your dad’s so drunk all the time he won’t even notice you’re gone, and you quit the Ledyba Ladies, so Linda won’t care, and there isn’t really anyone else.”
Kitty’s lip quivered before she replied, “True enough,” taking a hard gulp and continuing her walk.
“But my parents are seriously like blah,” Felix told her, accompanied by a cute sneeze from his spinda. “I’ll tell you what, I’ll go home, steal money from my dad and then we’ll meet back at the edge of town tonight, ok?”
“So I can change first?” Kitty giggled. “Sounds good to me!”
