Hi, I breed Metagross (with TM Earthquake) with Ditto.
The baby Beldum can´t learn Earthquake. Will Metagross learn Earthquake by leveling up or I´ve got to teach it again???
thanks

Volteon

Back I guess??
Yes you´ll have to teach it again, because the inherit of TMs happens when THE BABY can learn the TM.

The same happens with Breloom and Focus punch, Shroomish can´t learn it, so it can´t be inherited.

You would have to teach EQ to the new Beldum Again. TTFN!
Edit: Never mind, listen to Volteon, he's the expert.

You can always get more TM26 as an extremely rare pickup item with a party of level 91+ linoones, meowths, phanpys, teddiursas, aipoms, etc... and use the ocean glitch in ruby/sapphire to raise them up first. That's how I accumulated over 20 of TM26 and have taught them to all of my metagross, salamence, slaking and others that need that move.

actually if both of the parents know the move then the child will inherit the move (except special moves like false-swipe swablu)

I withdraw reluctantly.
Beldum can only learn Take Down, that's why!

not true. you could have two gyarados that know EQ, DD, HP and TWave, a male and a female. if you bred them, you'd get? a magikarp with splash.

the baby inherits the move if: a)the father knows it and the baby has it as one of their TM/Egg moves or b) both parents know it and the baby can learn it through leveling up.

beldum & magikarp are among some that cannot inherit through breeding, whereas abra & feebas can at least. Figures it is the physical attackers that seem to have it harder, with the exception of a slakoth.

It appears that I misworded my original post...

apparently where it says and there were several other words that I may have accidently deleted...

what I meant to say is that it will inherit it if it can learn the move through level up etc.
