Breeding Starter Pokemon

Hi u guys,
Lately i've tried to breed my starter pokemon Charizard with
a ditto. But the old man say's : "they dont seem to like eachother verry much"
Does anyone knows why i cant get an egg?? On serebii main site is written
that it should be possible. Can someone please help me?
I dont have a clue why it doesnt work. With other pokemon it works just normally. Please help!!;004; ;004;

That phrase doesn't means they won't breed. They WILL breed, but it'll take longer to get an Egg.

The only phrase that means that they won't breed is: "They prefer to play with other Pokémon than with each other". Blame the translators.

yep its still possible to get an egg like when i bred my smeargle with my arcanine ,the old man said that they dont like each other very much but they still had an egg. (off topic) hehehe arcanine proly forced smeargle lol

Look at the Serebii.com pokedex, somewhere under is a list with pkmn that will breed with Charizard

That phrase occurs whenever there is a ditto present. There will be an egg.

That happened when i put my electrike and skitty together, AND i ended up getting 15 eggs from them alone @.@

Don't worry, they will breed unless you get the message, "They prefer to play with other Pokémon than with each other." (Which means they are incompatible breed types) or "They're brimming with energy." (Which means you are trying to breed a parent and it's son/daughter.)

my friend is breeding mudkip looking for a female, nothing so far, the phrase says they don't like each other but they still breed.

Keep in mind that your Charizard has to be female for you to hatch Charmander's. (I think... it's like that in Emerald)

Yeup, the baby Pokémon is always the basic form of the female's evolution line. To get a baby from a male, you have to breed with Ditto.

The sayings for breedablity and translations are as follows:

"They're very friendly": Extremely likely
"The two seem to get along": Somewhat likely
"The two don't seem to like each other": Not very likely
The two prefer to play with other Pokémon": Not a chance

The first three mean that you will get an egg. The last one means that you won't. It aslo helps if the two Pokémon are in the same egg group, the same type(if possible), and of differerent ID numbers.
