why dose my shiny gyarados and my shiny dratini say It's brimming with energy! and not they show intrest and there diffrent genders my other dratini said they show intrest the only diffence is my shiny dratini is level 15 and my other non shiny dratini is level 39 why wont my shiny dratini breed with my shiny gyarados.

Shininess in GSC is based on IVs (if you're not sure what they are, just let me know and I'll be happy to explain them to you). A Pokémon is shiny if it has IVs of 10 for every stat, except for HP, which is 0. Two Pokémon with the exact same DVs are unable to breed, so two shinies can never breed in these games.

I thought Pokemon could only breed with Pokemon of the same species in GSC... like, Sycther and Scyther, Croconaw and Croconaw... or one of those with a Ditto. So I was wrong all that time...? o_0

What types of Pokemon CAN breed, then?

But seriously, two pokemon of the same species and opposite genders can breed, {ie- Male pikachu + female pikachu} or a pokemon with a ditto, {male/female pikachu + Ditto} or two pokemon in the same egg group can breed together. {Like Female Snorlax + Male Feraligatr can breed, since they're in the same egg group.}

But shiny pokemon can't breed if their DVs/Ivs/Whatever is the same? WTF, I don't get it. :(

Me neither. And what exactly is an egg group? LOL, I know... I'm a n00b...

Egg groups are certain groups of pokemon that can breed like fairies, basicly all the small cute pokemon like pikachu clefairy jigglypuff ect. the only use relay is for egg moves like a wooper with ancient power
but I have no clue about the DVs IVs thing
