I love all of the new pokemon series but I have one major problem with them. No Misty. How could they get rid of the character who was there from the start. Her character was better developed and played a much more important role than Brock. Seeing her in pokemon chronicles is some consolation but it's not the same. I don't really like May or Max and so I think that Ash, Brock and Misty need to be reunited for their next big adventure.

Well most of fans disagree with you.

A lot of the fans much prefer May as a character to Misty because she actually has her own storyline that we can follow and grow up with. May actually adds something to the plot where as Misty did nothing for three seasons but hold Togepi.

May might have good storyline but I'm sure a storline or quest could be assingned to Misty if she was brought back to the series.

Hi, misty'scorsola. Most of SPPF has a bizarre bias against Misty, unfortunately, so you might want to prepare for a proverbial sh*tstorm. *hands you umbrella* Apparently being a sidekick is an unworthy position for a fictional character to hold, or something. For some reason Misty gets far more flack for this than Brock, Max or Tracey, but what can you do. Fandom is weird.

I wish people would just get over it already. Fair enough, your favourite character left, but that was 4 years ago. FOUR. FREAKING. YEARS. AGO. Why can't people stop the ridiculous brooding and move on?

Though it would have been nice if they had made a spinoff starring Misty. I would have wanted to see more of the gym leader life than a few specials. I think Misty got revived after she went back to being gym leader. No longer in the shadow of Ash and to a lesser extent Brock, she was a really great character with an interesting story line.

But spending four and half years with Togepie slowly sucking her soul out was the worst moves they could have come up with.

For the win.

Granted, they could've made Misty a Coordinator, but it would seem very out of nowhere. Unlike May, who was a new character and had no discernible intentions with her future in the beginning, other than to travel with Ash for a bit. Plus, May's team would certainly fare better in Contests. One good Electric Type would destroy Misty pretty well. Failing that, Grass > Misty.

Misty's character really just died in the Johto League(and I mean the entire season, not the actual League). I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was tired of hearing her voice and seeing her face. She added absolutely nothing to the plot and was essentially dead weight. Thus, the writers removed her. Even in Hoenn, if she stayed, she'd be playing second fiddle to May, whom most fans honestly enjoy watching and has an actual quest to fulfill.

Yeah, ok!
Posts like this belong on Bulbagarden. That's where all the die-hard Misty fans and/or Pokeshippers reside.

As for the topic, I think what the writers have done with her is fine. Having her join the group again only to stand in the background with Brock/Max, clutching an Azurill all day is not exactly a compelling reason for her return.

Ash and May would still hog all the spotlight, and Misty would be dead weight. That's a reason why the writers won't bring her back, she'd just be a background character anyway.

Why is this in the spoilers section, anyway? o_O

Truth be told, I think taking Misty out of the main cast and putting her in charge of the Cerulean Gym was the best thing they could have done with her. I actually like her a lot more than I did during the Indigo/Orange/Johto seasons, purely because she's evolved as a person and has fulfilled her dreams of becoming a Water Pokemon Master. Aside from joining the Elite Four, she really can't do much else in acheiving that goal.

This thread fails on a whole lot of levels.

Kasumi was becoming thoroughly unnecessary towards the end of Jouto, so they dropped her and brought in Haruka to give the series a new angle. Anybody who wanted Kasumi to remain on the show probably just has some secret perverted cartoon crush on her.

Misty was my favorite female character, but she was a dead weight. The only thing that bothers me is that people make it seem like she was the only one who was bad, when Brock was worse and Ash was pretty bad too. If I had my choice her and Brock both would have left since Brock continues to weigh down the show to this day and would not be missed by most of the fandom. I also wish they would have found better new characters then May, who I don't like in the least, or Max who I find very annoying

Brock did leave, and that didn't go well...

I don't really care if May replaced Misty, because Harley is funny. He makes the anime better.

Blah blah blah. This crap has been done to death. Kasumi's been gone for four years. Get over it.

Gravy and Jesse GS the II explained it pretty well.
