Brock actually doing something

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
Anyway, I think Brock is doing fine as he is. He doesn't really need anything else to do, but provide comedy by flirting with girls.

That was fine back in Season 1 and Johto when he was still more or less interesting.

Doing that in AG and D/P however is boring as hell. There's a reason why most people wanted Brock gone after AG ended, it's because flirting with girls ISN'T enough to warrent keeping him around. His personality has gone downhill tremendously, he's been pushed far too much in the background, and he's stale and stagnant.

When was the last time Brock had any character development? When was the last time he tried to pursue his breeder career? When was the last time one of his captures actually amounted to something worthwhile?

These are exactly the reasons why Misty being dropped didn't matter, because she was just as boring and stale in Johto as Brock is now. They really shouldn't have kept him.

Exactly! I don't see why a secondary character like Brock can't get any development and that it's okay for him to just stand around doing absolutely nothing but be a dead weight in the cast. As much as people hate to admit it, Max got better episodes and served a purpose, hell, even got an important role in one of the movies.

Where are Brock's great accomplishments? Has he done anything to get closer to his goal of being a Breeder recently? Does he seem any different from when he initially began his journey? ...Er, I guess one could argue that he did change since he started off serious and became goofier during the series run. Still, he hasn't really done much changing since he still does the same stuff he always does: cooking, flirting, giving out random advice, and acting as a living ornament.

I also don't see how the ear pulling gag or his lame attempts at flirting are funny anymore. There are characters who pull the 'love struck dork' act a helluvalot better than him.

i've made a long list of what brock does

cooking

Hey wait...

Impressive list. I think that's very accurate.

Other than his 'comic relief' moments, all that he does is cook. ...For some reason, this reminds me of the general depiction of fanfiction. In a lot of fics, there's always one character that gets stuck doing nothing and not having any meaningful interaction, this is especially true for shipping fics (the poor thirdwheel is stuck doing next to nothing, except maybe acting like a matchmaker).

Silly Heads, Brock already does something

He is a world-champ dust collector. His rival, Lance, nearly once collected more dust than him, due to the evil Shinji injecting poison into Brock. But Brock was able to bounce back, and collect more dust than Lance.

And THAT is what Brock does.

I think that all the characters need a developement, since Johto all the characters have been pretty dull. I want to see drama and Brock fighting for his Pokémon, he is the eldest and he looks like a kid. Who said that Misty was stale? I miss her a lot, even though she isn't as hot as Hikari.

I agree with the request of a breeding rival.

CyberCubed

AG spiced it up with May, Max, Drew and Harley, and Ash got the extra depth of having to mentor younglings.

Who said that Misty was stale?

If you watched all 150 episodes of Johto, it should be quite obvious she's stale. She spent 150 episodes being bland and boring, doing nothing but escorting Togepi around. She was as bad in Johto as Brock is now.

I miss her a lot, even though she isn't as hot as Hikari.

You miss a character that never did much in the first place? Misty was like Max, what exactly was there to miss? It's not like she ever had a plot like May or Hikari.

Misty IMO is one of the most fierce Characters in Pokemon...
Storywise it falls flat in comparison with May and Hikari, but Misty had the attitude Haruka never dreamed of Having, she was b!tchy, girly, loud and firecrotched...
May has been the worst female lead ever... even worse Pokemon... the only good thing that came outta that team was Beautifly... maybe Munchlax.
Hikari seems like a good "in-between"... she seems stubborn and loud like Misty with the cute appeal of Haruka...
Misty still rules and pwns nevertheless... specially her Psyduck moments lol...

Psyduck was Misty's only real appeal too me, imo. I never liked her much. Stayu was kick *** though.

Anyway, it's kinda hard to imagine the show without Brock, I mean, for more then a small season.

I'd have to agree with you. He might be, at times, annoying and pointless, but I like the guy and am happy that he's a part of the show.

If by worst you mean one of the best, I agree. Not every female lead needs to have a temper and act like an angry person. May's team beats the pants off Misty's easily, (her only lame Pokemon was Squirtle), and thus far Hikari's team consists of the same exact cute type of Pokemon May had.

Hikari is indeed inbetween the other two girls.

It is the worst IMO... and to me she lacks strength and personality...we only got to see her true colors when around Harley and or Drew.. the rest she was bland... same with her Pokemon... Torchic was flat... Skitty though appealing was shafted... Bulbasaur... flat... Eeve and Squirtle are certainly off the wall...
In comparison to me Kasumi looks amazing... Hikari even better...
I wasn t comparing her teams strenght anyway.

So not having a temper makes you weak? I don't think so. May was indecisive, meek and knew almost nothing about Pokemon, which is what made her interesting.

She wasn't another boring, "Yay, I'm 10, let me go get my first pokemon!" like all the other trainers, including Ash and Hikari were.

we only got to see her true colors when around Harley and or Drew.. the rest she was bland...

How exactly was she bland in the other non-Contest episodes? She had plenty of spotlight in fillers and was played off Ash and Max well.

same with her Pokemon... Torchic was flat... Skitty though appealing was shafted... Bulbasaur... flat... Eeve and Squirtle are certainly off the wall...

I fail to see how they were flat. They all had distinct personalities and had their fair share of battles. Did you even watch AG or did you just read summaries off the internet?

Misty's team had no personality aside from Psyduck and were all generic water Pokemon. Misty's "plot" consisted of Togepi jumping out of her arms and her running down a hall to grab it.

Hikari is interesting so far, but they've giving her the same exact Pokemon that May got. They're cute little Pokemon with TM moves, (Ice beam for Mimirol) so it's the same.

brock needs to start battling again, in a epi, ( i think the Bonsly one) he says something along the lines of "wow i really should start battling some more, i forgot how good it fells"

Cybercubed, What's wrong with letting him have his opinion? >_>

It's not like trying to counter every point he makes against her is going to magically change how he thinks.

Agreed... he really needs to start battling... I mean Bonsly makes for great Tactical battles and Gregguru...well... that´s just too much.
And yes... I watched the whole damn thing and I still think May is the very worst.
