Brother's Soul Silver team

My little Brother started playing his first pokemon game, Soul Silver. He is about to face the 8th Gym (don't know how he got so far with low level pokemon.) So here is his team.

I would get rid of beedrill, not worth keeping after 30ish.
And preferably change either feraligatr or gyarados for a fire pokemon, not worth keeping two water types.

Get rid of Whirlpool on Feraligatr but it looks really good for a beginner, he's not like me as a beginner where I always wanted all attacking moves so he could have a bright future.

Both Gyara & Gatr has the same moveset, so like what Mjou said, get rid of one of them.
