Building a leaf green team

So I haven't played pokemon in yonks and have just booted up the ol' gba. I'm trying to plot out the team I'm gonna use trough the game.

Note: Team is for in game only, not competitive. Trading is not an option, so no trade level-up pokemon or pokemon and abilities from other versions for me. At the time of writing I've just finished Celadon gym.

Planned end-game team:

Charizard

- Slash
- Fly
-Flamethrower
-Fire Blast (to be upgraded to Blast Burn)

Nidoking

- Earthquake
- Megahorn
- ?
- ?

Jolteon

- Shock Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder
- ?(Too much lightning elemental? Are the better things for Jolteon to do?)

Snorlax

- Hyper Beam
- Shadow Ball
- ? (physical normal attack or rest / sleep-talk combo?)
- ? (physical normal attack or rest / sleep-talk combo?)

Lapras

- Surf
- Ice Beam
- ?
- ?

Final pokemon undecided, was thinking either Mr. Mime or Hitmonlee

And I'm gonna use Krabby / Kingler as a HM slave for cut, strength and Rock Smash, to be switched in as neccessary.

Any thoughts welcome :)

Thanks for the input-

I've slapped my psychic TM on Lapras.

Is there more than one earthquake TM in leaf green? I thought there was only one, and that being the case I'd keep it on Nidoking for STAB.

I also don't think there's a signal beam TM in Leaf Green?

And I don't really use stat boosts or debuffs, I thought they were more for competitive play than in game?

I've just defeated Koga's gym, the team looks like this at the mo:

Charizard:
Slash
Wing Attack
Fly
Flamethrower

Jolteon:
Shockwave
Thunderbolt
Double Kick
Hyper Beam

Snorlax:
Hyper Beam
Shadow Ball
Rest
Body Slam

Nidoking:
Dig
Megahorn
Rock-Slide
Thrash

Lapras:
Surf
Ice Beam
Psychic
Body Slam

They're all between level 40 and 50

I forgot there is no signal beam.

Let me clean up your team a bit otherwise it's looking good.

I'll give you better in-game movesets

Jolteon
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power
-Substitute
-Shock Wave/Shadow Ball

Snorlax
-Sleep Talk
-Rest
-Body Slam
-Shock Wave/Surf/Shadow Ball (Any Special Attack that can work really)

After beating Giovanni you can obtain earthquake.

Nidoking
-Earthquake
-Thunderbolt (Celadon Game Corner)
-Toxic
-Rock Slide

Your Lapras looks good if you wanna give it thunderbolt or breed sing that's up to you

Choice Band and non-attacking moves should never be used on the same set since if you try to sub or meditate, Choice Band will lock you into that move and thus you'll be forced to switch.

Choice Items such as Choice Band lock you into the first move used after switching in. In RSE, Choice Band is best reserved for fast Pokemon lacking in power or setup moves, or for a Pokemon to come in and deal heavy damage without setting up

For instance, think about RBY wrap/bind/fire spin. If you had wrap or any of the others moved on you, you couldn't do anything. If you clicked "Fight" then you were automatically damaged by wrap. With a Choice Band, you get to select your first move. Every move after that, however, will be the same as the first move whenever you click "Fight."

Example:
Turn 1: Press Fight then Substitute on a Hitmonlee with a Choice Band.

Hitmonlee used Substitute
Turn 2: Press Fight. If the Substitute is down, then another is created. If the substitute is not down, the move fails.

Choice band is not used with any support or setup moves barring "Trick" or Switcharoo" starting in gen IV really. SubPunch Hitmonlee is probably your best option IMO though, as Focus Punch is stupidly powerful and Hi Jump Kick is weak in gen III and there's no Close Combat yet.

@JAWS: do you understand what a choice item does now? If not then read up Choice Items on Bulbapedia a bit more
