Butterfree Moveset

Well-Known Member
Male
Mild Nature
Lv 79
HP 212
Attack 94
Defence 101
Sp. Atk. 188
Sp. Def. 145
Spd. 159

It currently has Psychic, Sleep Powder, Safeguard and Silver Wind, and the reason I'm bothering with it is because it's a Shiny. When it comes to EVs, I didn't keep an exact count, but I focused on Speed and Special Attack via Vitamins and some training, and then took it to Mt. Battle on Colosseum, so it's not perfect. I'm not sure if I should leave Silver Wind since that attack stat is horrid, so maybe I should replace it with Thief? I am unsure-- and as for Hidden Power, I suppose I could figure out the element by trial and error, but that's only if someone recommends it, and I obviously wouldn't know how powerful it is.

Aaaa thank you.

I'm not used to seeing butterfree around so this may not be perfect

Butterfree
? not sure on an item
Giga Drain/Aerial Ace
Psychic/Shadow Ball
Toxic
Sleep Powder

iirc, there's also the Double Powder option... or am I thinking of a different Pokemon? ^_^;

Okay, since your Butterfree's Mild, you need to keep it away from the Rock-types, so I'm thinking this:

Butterfree @ Leftovers
EVs 252 SAtk / 126 Atk / 126 Spd
Mild Nature
- Silver Wind
- Psychic
- Sleep Powder
- Hidden Power [Grass]

It may sound crappy, but go on a limb here. I mean, you can repurchase TM29 and TM10, so...

Lol why do u need sleeppowder and toxic?

Selestius...

- That EV spread is horrid.
- Hidden Power is hard to get InGame, so don't suggest it.
- Last thing Butterfree needs is to go mixed with those poor stats.
- Butterfree can't even learn TM10.

Never heard of that, but I assume this is what you're referring to?

Butterfree @ Leftovers
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Sleep Powder
- Stun Spore
- Whirlwind

It's actually only effective for switches and to run around the Sleep Clause, neither of which apply InGame. So yeah, you're right. No point exists.

My moveset on my one is:
Butterfree@Leftovers
Hasty nature (gave up looking for Mild...)
~Sleep Powder
~Dream Eater
~Aerial Ace
~Silver Wind
I know everyone's going to have a flame about this set, but it actually works pretty well in-game, and Sleep Powder doesn't miss that often because of the Compoundeyes ability. I also figured that since mine has a Hasty nature, it could outrun quite a few things when fully EV trained, although I haven't exactly kept a record of every EV its got...

It's a great set. Sleep powder first turn, with Compoundeyes it will probably hit. PP Max on Silver Wind due to low PP, hammer away at them while they sleep with SW/AA. Hopefully the 10% on SW will kick in and you turn into MegaButterfree. Eat dreams to replenish when health is low. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Since this is ingame, and hopefully in Emerald, use this:

Psychic
Sleep Powder
Thief
filler

Why? Because it's the best stealing pokemon in the game.

What are the criteria for that?
1) Be able to learn Thief/Covet
2) Er... Be... Fast?

If there are no more than that, try Linoone. Base speed of 100 and learns Covet naturally. And has Pickup! MMMM... Free items...

You forgot Compound Eyes. That ability attracts pokemon carrying items. It makes that Heart Scale or Light Ball hunt go a little quicker. And Butterfree is the strongest pokemon with that ability.

It sucks you can't use butterfree in the safari zone.

Sunnybeaming:

Butterfree@Leftovers
Timid Nature
-Sunny Day
-Solarbeam
-Psychic
-Sleep Powder

Hopefully, you can pass it some SAtk and Spd.
