still... i use this button trick to increase the catching rate of my pokemon (also known as the master ball trick...) by 5 its like ultraballs catching rate is 2.0 + (the msterball trick) = 5 so its easier to catch

1: launch a ball then press select after .4 seconds press a (dont release select)
2: when you see the flying ball opens, press up when the ball closes, press b
3: There you have it the increased catching rate makes pokemon easier to catch ^_^

*NOTE: I use this to my gb advance sp and nintendo ds this works i tell you

I don´t think that this works, it´s the same than put metal in the microwave then it´ll explode (or anyother thing that Mythbusters did)

Pressing buttons does not increase the capture rate. If you dont believe, suit yourself. While I doubt a combo of button pressing will give a high capture rate, I still do so for the fun of it. Mostly I simply just dont press anything to show my friends that pressing buttons is just something fun to do and doesnt affect any capture rate.

Yes. Nothing does happen, I find it quite fun holding my DS with no buttons and watching it catch! The sequence always seems 5 seconds longer when you really want the pokemon!

I'm not sure if anything affects the capture rate but i always press b and up whenever the pokeball gets thrown. i'm not sure it works but maybe it is just a habit. ;058;

I always tap B like crazy when I throw the ball and hold B once it closes on the Pokemon. It's a habit brought over from GSC days.

What everyone else said. Never really worked, doesn't work now. It just makes people feel better.
