Yes, you should get Nintendo DS Lite. Thus, you can use both GBA and DS's cartridge.

No. Don't just get the DS for the new pokemon games. Get it for Nintendogs and Mario Kart and Animal Crossing and Brain Age and oh-so much more. The game list just keeps on improving!

EDIT: And get a DS Lite not a DS Original.

Yes, buy it. I will buy my 3th DS tomorrow just for the 3th 4th generation Pokemon game. So I have one for Diamond, Pearl, and Topas/Opal/Amethyst or whatever it's called.
But I have it for games like Mario Kart too.

There's far more good games out there. If only for Pokemon, then no. If you are ever going to get other games, then go for it.

Well for just D/P you might be a little disapointed by this new battle system that totally screws up everything. But there are other titles coming soon like LoZ the Phantom Hourglass,Mysterious DungeonBlue,Super Mario64DS.

I would reccomend it, I'm getting one soon.

Alot of people say get the DS Lite. But I say get the original. I think it's better even though the Lite is thiner and has better lighting. The normal DS is better IMO. I know I will get bashed here and there after I say this. But oh well the truth must be said.

You should there are so many great titles on it, not to mention POkemon is come in like 3 different modes ( Mysterious Dungeon, Ranger, D/P especially that)

I think you should get a DS for the new pokemon games. I know that if I didnt already have a ds, i would. plus, theres a lot of other good games for ds worth checking out (mario kart, animal crossing, warioware, etc.)
