• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

BW 023-024 - Team Rocket VS Team Plasma (Parts 1 & 2)

The one difference is that barring a sudden huge string of fillers, this series might only reach 120 episodes or so. For a decent plot to still be made, Plasma will have to appear quite often at this rate.

You forget they might do a filler saga, which while may be filler, could also be something Team Plasma post-leauge. Or be very nonfillery with Ash rotating his Pokemon every other episode or so, with all his Pokemon getting at least some sort of an appearence in the filler saga with some evolutions. That seem fillerish now?

Evaluation time!
Teams Magma and Aqua only appeared a few times, and their appearances were always lackluster. Team Galactic might have debuted late, but every single one of their appearances had some sort of significant event, and they actually got a conclusion instead of being discarded thoughtlessly the way the Hoenn teams were.

Either way, Team Aqua and Team Magma drove the Hoenn games but barely got any attention in the anime, so the idea that Team Plasma has to have a role just because of their roles in the games isn't accurate.

TG was prove that the writers are starting to get better with longer plots. Even with the Japanese crisis, I'd expect TP to make a few token appearences even if the TP plot the writers have can not be saved.

Thats what I believe anyway: TP might not have a roll, but I still expect them to appear. Sadly, only time will tell. TP vs. TR seemed like TA vs. TM done write in my eyes, and with the main represenitives from TR less serious and focused, perhaps TP wasn't meant to do a whole lot anyways. It didn't look like to me that they were trying to adapt the game's plot in.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
Of course, though, there's always the extra story from Gray to ultimately consider...

Other than Looker/Charon, did they adapt Platinum's Galactic story at all? There was no Giratina in the finale, no distortion world, etc.

Likewise the Magma/Aqua subplot did not adapt Emerald's inclusion of Rayquaza.

The writers don't really take elements from the third version, most likely because the villain plot team is already scripted before the third game hits.

Can we please get the older, old forum back?

But if I'm not mistaken, Emerald only came out after FireRed and LeafGreen did. Considerably later then that Platinum came out in correspondence with Diamond and Pearl.

- Ruby and Sapphire
- FRLG
- Emerald

That meant that by the time Emerald was released they already were past the whole ending of the TATM-plot, if I'm not mistaken that is..

The reason the new airdate hasn't been announced yet is because TV Tokyo doesn't know when the Earthquake thing will dissipate (for a while) as well as the Nuclear situation (possibly). They don't know when it'll stop. No one does. They're just waiting until everything settles down at last. And once that happens, then they'll air it. Who knows? They could announce the airdate when we all least expect it.

Plus, Japanese fans will probably remind them of these episodes via emails so they probably won't forget. Mostly likely, they'll air these episode prior to Team Plasma's second major appearance so nobody gets confused.

As for the US airing, if TV Tokyo truly intends to air this two parter sometime and they don't do it before the CN does, then they'll most likely give them the permission to air these episodes in chronological order.

On Second thought, these eps don't look too good.

How so? It's the episodes every older fan of Pokemon has dreamed off. Care to elaborate?

Everything you just said, we've been saying here for weeks...

Thriller

Its almost time
I get the feeling the whole plot may have been abandoned.

This wouldn't be the first time real life wrote the plot. The 1995 Super Sentai Ohranger had to be extremely rewritten due to Terrorist attacks in Japan that happened just after the series aired.

It would explain why Rocket-Dan went back to their roots.

Animation is done months before air. Having TR return to their white uniforms on the *first* episode after the disaster, its hard to believe that they changed the episode on such short notice.

Your point?

That I (among others) have been saying the exact same thing for weeks on end.

In other words, "post count +1."

I get the feeling the whole plot may have been abandoned.

These episodes are not even two months after the originally scheduled places for the Rocket VS. Plasma episodes. I agree with you that the plot has been abandoned, but it takes far too much time to plan, write and animate the episodes. These couldn't have been made between now and the earthquake, it had to have been planned.

CyberCubed

Yeah, ok!
The plot has not been abandoned. Episodes are scripted and animated months in advance, most likely whatever the second TR or TP appearance is has already been scripted and animated.

If we get up to that before the first one airs, they'll probably hold over their second appearance too. We'll know that because the episode numbers will skip ahead, like how we also missed that fishing episode.

He has a yamask, you idiot.

LOL you quoted someone at a time BEFORE James caught a Yamask. Wow.

Like really, what is up with some of these new users who just quote a post to comment on it without realizing when the post was made. And then calling someone an idiot on top of that, wow.
--------

Anyway, I'm still hoping TV Tokyo or whatever gives TPCI permission to air these episodes in order. Of course we're still 4-5 months away before we'll see.

Which of course makes you wonder what the episodes in Japan will be like at that moment. Will we have another Plasma episode or something?

4-5 months is good, especially if they are unedited, unlike with the Japanese version which will clearly be edited.

On Topic, yeah I hope the dubs show it, even though I don't watch any neither from my country or the english one I won't mind watching so I can see the episodes.

OBJECTION!

Clicking on the ">" next to the quoted post directs you to where it was made.... and it was made on this thread on February 20th, which was when BW019 aired. Maybe a spam bot?

I will admit that I am a little concerned due to there still being no sign of Plasma. At the rate that the saga is going, they won't be able to have a satisfying story with Plasma unless they increase the rate of their appearances. Of course, though, there's always the extra story from Gray to ultimately consider...

Well I agree with you about being concerned with Team Plasma but at the moment Ash and crew haven't even reached Nimbasa city yet, heck Plasma have had two full episodes dedicated to them, at the moment it is fine there is plenty of time to develop the plot.

About a Gray plot, yeah it would be clever, but since nobody has a clue what that will be nothing can be said, although I must agree CyberCubed does have an extremely good point and I doubt there will be a third version plot in the anime.

If anything, Plasmas appearances will pick up dramatically near Iccurus City/Dragonspiral Tower in my opinion.

Wait I thought for some reason this thread was one of the newer ones. I need to get the crud out of my glasses.
