I'd really like Ash to get a shiny Gigalith (eventually) but I just can't see it happening.

I just can't see any precedence where a shiny version of a Pokemon debuted before it's normal coloration.

Plus with the new Pokedex feature in Black and White game versions, we won't be able to tell if Roggenrola is shiny or not, since in Black and White, if you see a shiny of a Pokemon first, you only have the Pokedex art of the shiny version.

Unlike past generations where the normal coloration showed up in the Pokedex even when it was shiny.

No, at the begining of the episode, a non-shiny one appeared until that old man of the episode shooed it away. Then the shiny one appeared.

Ash with a Gigalith would be nice, especially a Shiny one, but I'd rather Ash not get this, Trip will show up and get it he could capture a Sniny, or a non Shiny Gigalith later.

No, the normal one appeared, then it cut to the title card, the shiny one appeared later. Don't Roggenrola appear in wellspring cave near route 3, if so, this is a nice reference, considering I translated it correctly.

Yes, but a normal one debuted first. As much as I hate Roggenrola, it would be okay if Ash got Roggenrola, if it was shiny, because then Ash could end up with a shiny Gigalith.

Even if its shiny, as long as they pull out the pokedex to have a look at the data, the picture will be normal. I watched the Ash Vs Conway episode this morning on TV and Dawn used the pokedex on Noctowl, and the picture was normal, not shiny, and she hasn't seen normal Noctowl before.

It only started with the 5th Gen in the games. It'll probably be the same in the Anime.

Your suggestion only works if there are multiple Roggenrola in this episode. However from what we know, there's only one Roggenrola in the episode.

So the Noctowl episode doesn't count, as the normal coloration did show up first, and I specifically said "I just can't see any precedence where a shiny version of a Pokemon debuted before it's normal coloration."

Plus the odds are not in favor of it being shiny. Though we haven't seen a shiny Pokemon in Best Wishes yet.

Edit: Darn I can't remember what I wanted to add. Oh well.

2nd Edit: I remember. If it was Shiny don't you think that would be its selling point rather than flash cannon?

I'm excited for this episode just because I like Roggenrola, its one of my instant favorites from this gen.

'k I can totally see this being a capture for Ash now. All the Pokemon linked above where evolutionary lines of Pokemon that Ash and Iris have. Would be interesting to see Ash with a rock type.

I feel like that's enough to show that at least someone is getting this Roggenrola. I personally don't see how it can be anyone other than Ash, since all of the other merchandise is Ash's (minus Iris' Axew) and they wouldn't give merchandise to a Pokemon that isn't going to anyone.

I'm sure it's going to Ash. Which is fine--I think it fits Ash very well.
