He is the one behind the market who introduces you to triple battles.
So? Technically Cilan and Iris are NPC's as well.

You can't compare gym leaders to the many npcs that you battle in the games.

Still, unless the trainer is a breeder, I don't see why they would give it to the "daycare lady" lol.
Usually when there's a trio they are usually stuck together.

But how knows what might happen here. I wouldn't like her having a Deino so early and would prefer if Drayden gave her a Deino egg. If she does capture it then I won't hate it it would just leave a bad taste in my mouth.
There's also the Haircut brothers and many other characters I can't remember....

It appears that it was already shy before being dropped off and then went into a depression.
And again, a Pokemon and trainer don't have to have a crappy relationship to result in said Pokemon going to another trainer.
Could just be a someone trying to become a Dragon Master/ is already a Dragon Master who comes back and sees how much Iris has broken through Deino's shell and gives it to her simply because they think it would be better off with her. This guy/ girl has 2 other perfectly fine Deino and likely some other Pokemon on them, I don't think it's out of the question for them to bequeath the one that needs the most attention to someone willing to give it to them. Even more if Deino turns out to prefer traveling with Iris.

I haven't been following this thread so maybe I'm behind on the times, but I'm very surprised that Ash and friends have already made it to Driftveil City. It seems like they were in Nimbasa City just last week, and now they're in a whole new place. I know that Ash won't have his Gym battle for a while, but it's still really interesting that he's arrived at his next destination in such a short time. I'm also very glad that we have new information on the Accelgor episode since it seems like it's gonna be amazing; I'm getting a Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's vibe from it, but that's still cool.
And what's with the star in the episode title?

I don't think Iris'll be getting Deino now that's there's three of them. She'll have to focus on the other two at some point, so her connection with the shy one won't appear to be as strong. If it were a lone Deino, then I wouldn't be surprised if she caught it.
Because the hero's a star, of course. And it's fabulous.
I imagine that's because Cilan has no problems to develop, unless they start tackling his weird fetish for sommelier-ing as a problem and show that he actually has insecurities, resulting in him pretending to be just about every specialist known to man.

Well everythin that isn't your main characters, is a npc.
Charles has a backstory ingame, the only issue is him not having a good sprite but rather the random biker sprite XD.
It kinda makes sense that he looks like this in the anime, according to his story ingame.
I don't think so, Charles needs his time in the limelight too. However, doesn't Clay oppose Plasma moreso than the other Gym Leaders, to the point where he leads the charge on N's Castle? He appears to be out doing something in this episode, and I wanna know what it is.

So Charlies is appearing. Isn't that blond guy that is in the upcoming previews for this episode the Swift Hero Ac☆Celgor? Why do you guys think its Charles or even N?

Breeder: Deino had made improvement but its still shy.
Iris: Stuff
Breeder: Iris, why don't you take Deino with you? I've never seen it come out of its shell like it has today. With you I'm sure it can make a complete breakthrough.
Iris: *Takes Deino*
