• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Plz don't jinx it

Well there is some small hope. Ignoring the geographical logic problems, Boldore or an evolution could occur easily in this episode and the following episodes.

Why?

Well if we assume for a moment episodes were reorganized like theorized, they'd have to only choose episodes that make sense.

So if an episode like the Gothita episode doesn't have Boldore in it but has the starters, Tranquill, Scraggy, and they haven't evolved yet. Well why not move it before Clay's gym since there's nothing in it that would make it misplaced (outside of a few errors which could easily get a change in script, or a "quick" paint edit).

Thus presumably the episodes AFTER Clay starting with Chargestone Cave, couldn't be moved around, maybe because a starter evolution is coming right around the corner (Like January, or February), and thus any episode after it would have to be of its evolved form.

So if Oshawott evolves in this episode, given the fact that Oshawott is a Pokemon that shows up FREQUENTLY, unless they hide away Dewott, any of the following episodes, could not be messed with until the evolution happens with Dewott. This also includes Tepig and Snivy but to a lesser extent.

So even if this episode has nothing (which I kind of doubt), the following episodes may have something big in them.

If not, oh well.

With the exception of Tranquill and Scraggy, Ash's reserves are probably his most powerful pokemon in Unova. Palpitoad had a clear grumpy/mean -spirited personality, which seems to have faded. Swadloon had a moody personality, which seems to have faded. Roggenrola had a jolly personality, which, well, who the hell knows? We seen it like three times after its capture, each only for a couple of seconds.

These things don't equate to good screentime or development, however.

Ash catching another electric type really wouldn't be the end of the world, er Pikachu I mean. Seriously, any new electric Pokemon would be used to do different things. Pikachu has a unique niche in Ash's team.

Wouldn't you rather want Ash to spam another electric type instead of using his "old buddy" every battle it can get into I mean come on its time for change.

I gave up on Ash getting Galvantula when it was confirmed he was getting Sewaddle.

Giving Ash a Joltik/Galvantula NOW isn't doing me any favors, since it just means Swadloon will get screwed over even more, probably even released.

Just like in Hoenn, I kind of dislike how Ash got Corphish and Glalie, when he probably could've had Spheal and instead of Torkoal, he could've had Numel (and caught something else, perhaps more unique), but I like Ash's Corphish, and Ash's Glalie, and to a lesser extent, Ash's Torkoal, that I really can't see or want Ash without them. It's sort of like "I would've been fine if it happened, but I don't want what did happen to change."

Kind of like that but I really want Swadloon to be Ash's only bug type (I may have been fine with it and Durant, since Durant can learn a LOT of move but not it and Joltik/Galvantula). Too Little Too Late.

But I do wait for Ash's 2nd electric type since, I hope the writers aren't that biased stupid.

Meh I wasn't really expecting an evolution, Boldore just evolved.

I hope in 2/3 episodes a starter can evolve but here nah not expecting obviously.

Careful? Where's the fun in that?

Joltik can learn poison attacks and some dark moves(Sucker Punch comes to mind) but your clearly got a point about Swadloon. Yes I want Ash to get Joltik, but as I've stated, he's got a -5% chance of getting it.

I'm certain a lot of us wait for that day

All that's left is for Jessie to catch a Eelektrik and James a Joltik and the 5 main characters would have an eletctric type

As that's unlikely yup I don't see any captures here. Maybe Cilan/James and a Klink but that's it.

Can we please get the older, old forum back?
Well I'll 3rd or 4th to say someone will definitely catch something in this cave.

Most likely Iris, or Dento.

Or in the unlikely event: Jessie or James? Ferroseed has a nice comparison with Cacnea as a thorny pokemon... And Eelektrik is snake-like?

Part of the reason folks worldwide like TR now is they are somewhat more serious now. No one, I for one don't, wants the cheesy antics that characterized the "old" TR.

James can catch one, yes, actually catch one, not feed it, befriend it, and not just have it hop on into his monster-ball.

Jessie/Musashi does seem ready for another, considering in most regions they have carried at least 2 pokemon each. I see Denchura as a nice choice for her, or a Bachuru.

Chargestone Cave is being featured? Woot woot! I'm glad they didn't skip over THIS particular in-game place. Hopefully we might get more than just the one episode thanks to a) the Deino guy being lost inside and b) the fact that Joltik/Galvantula represent the entrance of the cave from Driftveil City thanks to the web.

I can see why if people complain about getting to Chargestone Cave immediately, but Maractus, Sawsbuck and Gothita were supposed to be in between, so I'm not fussed.

If it is a multi-ep arc, I would hope to see a 'significant event' occur in Chargestone Cave, whether it's a capture, evolution, a new move, anything. In fact I would almost expect it.

Let's go to the beach, each.
It boggles my mind why people want Ash to catch any more Pokemon. Seriously? You want him to add another pokemon into his preposterous attempt at rotation? You want another Pokemon to whine about not appearing, four isn't enough?

The simple fact is that Ash capturing another Pokemon right now will result in even shi
ttier screentme for all of his Pokemon. Whatever about his current nine, there is little hope of 10-11 Pokemon all getting development, screentime and battles.

~Sapphire Sceptile~, thank you for spilling the tea of truth. You are truly an inspiration.

I've pretty much learned to ignore capture speculation in these threads because it always ends badly. But sometimes I wonder if we're all watching the same show.

But anyway, I'd just like to say that no matter what happens, at least things are moving along. I thought the writers were going to start slowing down the anime again, but it seems that we'll be watching the Unova League as early as next summer. I do hope that something interesting happens in this episode, though. It'll be boring if all we get is another unnecessary filler episode.

I know all that, and I really felt that way too. I was one of those that immediately said that James didn't need Maractus, or Elgyem, and that Jessie didn't need Scolipede (in reference to being a long poison type).

However, their true 'cool' days ended when Plasma got scrapped, presumably. Thus I see no problem with them getting these now, especially since they haven't gotten anything since Yamask..

I agree.. Things are just moving along, and I reckon we're just supposed to completely drop any expectations at this point, as nothing has been set up at all. Sinnoh had the Chimchar/Paul-story line set up to have something to look forward to. Unova has Trip, which is bland and doesn't have the same set up, or anything alike to look forward to.

Best Wishes? Nice play on words, but best wishes gets you nowhere apparently, and leaves you empty when nothing happens when you're expecting something to happen to make those best wishes to come true for more then half the region already..

True fact: Haven't watched a full episode since the Archeops one.

Sure, I look at the episode pictures, and some fragments, or I start watching, but I don't see the full episodes anymore.

Sorry to say that Best Wishes, in that sense, has completely lost me as a fan...

You know down the line, not everyone is gonna be satisfied ever...personality...that only recently became a bigger deal in Sinnoh...it started in Heonn a bit, sure, but Sinnoh was the best for it. Seriously guys, not every Pokemon can have a big personality, in fact, none of the birds have any ounce of personailty(well, maybe Noctowl somewhat) but honestly, why are we talking about this here? Yeah, I said I wanted Ash to catch Joltik, but I was just kidding around with it...and yes there are others who want him to capture more Pokemon, what's the big deal, yeah personality yata yata, but again, the writers aren't gonna be fair about it because of marketing. I'm almost certain 8 year olds don't give a hoot about personality, all they care about is the show itself.

Back to the matter at hand, I just love that Joltik and Galavantula finally get a decent episode about them

I recommend you to watch the Deino episode then, it appears in a flashback of Deino's trainer. Better than waiting till 12/1(i come from the UK can't be bothered doing it the american way)
But that was just a few rooms. I want to see more of the cave like in the game.

I couldn't disagree more. Personality has been a big deal since the beginning of this show, not from Hoenn. Bulbasaur?Squirtle? Primeape? Charizard? Snorlax? Pikachu? All pokemon with personalities that made them stand out and made the show much more enjoyable. From the very first episode Pokemon made it very clear that its intention was to not show pokemon as battle machines, but as characters on their own. That's why the pokemon get storylines alongside the human characters.

I'm almost certain 8 year olds don't give a hoot about personality, all they care about is the show itself.

This makes no sense. Personality is a contributing factor in making the kids enjoy the show. They don't tune it to watch cardboard boxes talk to rocks, they tune in to seek for a moment of fun which is what the personality and the story of the characters (and show overall) provides.
